Marlene looks great ♡

Ugh, I don’t feel like doing anything today. I don’t feel like reading or crafting. I don’t like days like this when nothing is fun.

Marlene, I could totally fall in love with your sweater. I think I’ll try knitting a color combination like that sometime, too. It looks absolutely great.

Anja, I have days like that, too. It’s okay—we’re allowed to just relax sometimes, and nothing is a must. The inspiration will come back soon enough.

I’ve now finished the third Kobel, and in the next few days I’ll put it in the washing machine to felt at 60 degrees. I’m curious to see how much it shrinks—it’s actually pretty big. I had to stuff it with a pillow to take a picture of it.

The pants for Sternchen are coming along, too. I had to unravel them 3 times because I didn’t like them. Now they’re turning out great. Tonight I’ll start on the fourth Kobel, the last one for now.

And we’re having pizza in a bit. I already posted the recipe in a thread.

You’ve all finished some great projects again.

Monika: That Kobel looks really huge. I’m curious to see what it looks like after washing. You’re always so incredibly fast.

Marlene: The sweater’s pattern looks very nice; it would be too colorful for me. But luckily, that’s just a matter of taste.

Anja: Everyone probably goes through phases like this. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this one passes quickly.

I’ve finished something, too.

A comfort blanket with a rattle in the head. One of Anton’s teachers is pregnant. Anton is in the Raccoon Group, so it was pretty clear right away what she’d be getting when the baby is born. 😂

Thanks :)

@Anja – I know that feeling of not feeling like doing anything.
Then nothing turns out right, or I’m not satisfied with it.

@Sandra – your raccoon cuddle cloth is so cool

Sandra, your raccoon is great! I think it’s truly amazing what kinds of gifts you always manage to whip up. You really put thought into each recipient and find something very personal. I’d love to receive a gift from you, too :-)

Monika, that treehouse looks really big. How long did you work on it? I’m also curious about the shrunk size—I have no idea how to estimate that at all. How do you handle it after unraveling—do you pick up the stitches again? I find that so tedious—do you maybe have a tip for that?

Anja, days like that when you just don’t feel like doing anything are a bummer. On the other hand, it’s totally okay to “treat yourself” to an unproductive day every once in a while. Then it’s all the more wonderful when (hopefully) your momentum returns the next day and you don’t even know where to start. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that your enthusiasm for all sorts of things will be back tomorrow :-)

I wish you all a lovely evening and a wonderful rest of the weekend!

Dear all, you’re all hard at work again...

Sandra, your little raccoon is absolutely adorable—and I agree with Sonja: the ideas and how you brought them to life—the recipients are surely thrilled.

Anja, I know those kinds of days too—sometimes it’s better to just leave it. At least that’s how it is for me, because the result usually isn’t that great… Right now, someone has requested a toilet paper roll hat as a Minion (is that right?), and that’s really not my thing, those little creatures… but oh well, I’ll manage somehow… after all, I won’t have it sitting on my rear parcel shelf afterward.

Monika, the drey is huge. I’m curious to hear what you’ll say about the size after felting it—who knows what kind of little creature will move in there.

I wish you all a wonderful Sunday.

Sandra, you’ve really outdone yourself again with that raccoon scarf. It looks amazing. Did you crochet it based on your own design? I’m sure it will be a big hit.

Sonja, unraveling is really easy. If it’s only up to 3 rows, I just knit back. Otherwise, I unravel until one row before the end and then pick up the stitches one by one back onto the needle; after that, I always pull the yarn out of each stitch. That way, nothing falls off.

Now, about the nesting boxes.
Squirrels will live in them until they’re released into the wild. The nesting box shrinks by about 1/3 after felting. I always factor that in. The bottom of the finished product should be about 15–20 cm. So I knit it to about 25 cm. The largest one was 28 cm. I start the opening at 8 cm. Once the opening is finished and closed up again, I knit 2 more rounds and then start decreasing (knitting every 10th and 11th stitch together, which creates a point). Finally, I crochet a loop at the top. For the last one, I used just under 6 x 50 g. For the one before that, it was just under 7 balls. The current one is a bit smaller; I’m using up the remaining yarn on it. Over the last few days, I’ve been using at least 2 balls a day.

So, now I’d like to share my joy with you. As you know, I got a yarn gift certificate for my birthday—worth over 100 euros. Ta-daaa—I redeemed it last night at Finkhof. It was such a great feeling to buy yarn again after almost 1.5 years. I’m sure you can imagine. It’s a total of 16 x 100 g, which will be coming to me in a package soon, and I’m really looking forward to it. Of course, I’ll show it to you. I plan to knit a long cardigan for myself and also for my two granddaughters. They’ll get them for Christmas. I’m sure you can guess the colors… you’ll see soon enough.

Well, I wish you all a wonderful Sunday and send you warm regards!

Monika

After Petra asked me how the bag was coming along, I pulled myself together and knitted 3 more rows, sewed in the ends, and made the pom-pom.

Monika, I’m curious about the yarn—I can already picture the colors a little bit, wink...
You really used up a lot of yarn with those dens; now I’ve got a better idea of the size after felting, thanks for the explanation.

Anja, the bag turned out beautifully—well, sometimes all it takes is a little nudge.

Anja, your bag turned out great. That’s the advantage of being part of this group—it motivates you to actually finish your projects. Since I’ve been here, I haven’t had any UFOs lying around anymore.

Have a wonderful evening, everyone!

Anja: the bag turned out very beautiful.

Monika: the raccoon head and tail are from a stuffed animal pattern; the rest is freehand.

Yesterday I started on the first decorations for Anton's birthday... he isn't until September... but I definitely need the 4 anyway. I'll decide how it will be decorated in the end once I know what theme he wants.

Sandra, your raccoon is so cute—I’m sure the teacher will be thrilled with it. Is Anton already turning 4? I’m sure you’ll come up with something lovely for him again.

Anja, I’ve already admired your bag in the gallery. It was definitely worth it that you stuck with it.

Sandra, you’re amazing. Your creativity is simply a joy to behold. The Woodstock turned out great again, too. My goodness, is Anton already 4 years old?!! It feels like just yesterday when you announced his birth here. It’s unbelievable how fast time flies. The little ones grow up so quickly, and you can’t get this beautiful time back. So—enjoy every moment with him, especially now.

And now I’m sharing my joy of the day with you. I went into a real yarn frenzy when I received the package from Finkhof today. Soooo beautiful! I couldn’t help myself and wound up one of the skeins right away. Now that another Kobel is almost finished, I’ll start the gauge swatch tonight. I also want to try out a few patterns for my jacket.

So you can share in the excitement a little, here are some photos of the package (1400 g):

Anja, after feeling so unmotivated, you suddenly finished really quickly ;-) The result turned out great—I’m glad you let yourself get motivated!

Sandra, your Woodstock turned out amazing. I’m amazed at how productive you are—it seems like a finished work of art comes out every day. Or at least that’s how it seems to me :-)

And now for you, Monika! 1,400 grams of yarn! That must be a dream. You could put the balls of yarn in the tub and take a bath in them, right? :-) Lovely, lovely, lovely. You’ve really earned this after that long yarn diet! I’m so happy for you about this gorgeous yarn. And I’m already excited to see what you’ll make with it.

A massive project is brewing in my head (thanks, Monika!). I have to admit, I already ordered some more yarn yesterday just to test it out. I’m way more disciplined in other areas of my life, honestly!!!

Plus, I finished another comforter yesterday. It really gets me in the mood for spring:

Have a lovely evening!

OMG, Sonja!! I’m sooo thrilled with your new comforter blanket. It really makes me want to get back to DF knitting. It looks absolutely charming. You’ve truly created a masterpiece. I could also imagine this as a pot holder.

Yeah, bathing in yarn… must be such a cozy feeling. Just perfect for snuggling up. I’m really, really happy with this purchase and have already started sketching out some designs. But actually, I wanted to start something completely different. The yarn definitely got in the way—but that’s okay.

Well, that was obvious, Monika—that your new yarn would be in shades of yellow and red! Is it merino? What needle size is it for?

Anja, your bag turned out beautifully. I prefer fabric bags, though, because I’d be worried that my keys or smaller items might fall through the holes.

Sandra, you always have such great gift ideas. The recipients are sure to be thrilled!

Sonja, I’m always amazed at how quickly you bring your new patterns to life. The bird motif is so cute!

I also made something with a bird—a crochet pattern for a robin, which was named Bird of the Year 2021 in March:

Oh my goodness, Ruth, what a cute robin—it’s love at first sight. It’s giving me such a seductive look... ;-)

Yes, the yarn is merino—very natural, from organic sheep and dyed with natural dyes. It still retains its natural grease content. In my experience, this yarn is very rustic and durable, which is especially advantageous when it comes to children. I used it to knit Linja’s first few items, and she wore them almost every day. Now Juna gets to enjoy it, too. The yarn is great for jackets, as well as hats, thick socks, and kids’ pants. It has a yardage of 300 m per 100 g; I knit it on 3.5 mm needles.

First off, hello everyone… I’m checking in again too,

and there’s already so much to discover…

.Sandra your Woodstock turned out really cute again, and your ideas are always so lovely

Sonja, you’ve delighted me once again with a cute motif; I’m really looking forward to the larger piece.

Ruth, oh, that robin turned out so pretty. I didn’t know about Bird of the Year 2021, but they are so dainty, sometimes even unafraid. We have, I think, a pair in the garden, and one of them comes really close. If you stay still and just watch, you can see it watching you.

Monika, the colors were almost obvious to me; I could see the yarn right in front of me, haha. But once you have favorite colors, it isn’t hard for others to guess either… Anyway, I’m directly a little envious of the quantity. You could take a bath in the middle of all that yarn, just like Sonja suggested… I’ve visited the Finkhof shop several times already, but haven’t ordered anything yet. For one thing, I only just bought the yarn for the cardigan, and my stash is still quite large; for another, I’m still hoping to buy some in person.
By the way, speaking of buying, I’ll be ordering from fetasoller after Easter, since my parents and the kids want something too, but want to use up their supplies first. Well, that’s sure to be a huge order… I’ll let you know.

I don’t have anything to show today, maybe tomorrow. I’m still a bit busy in the garden.

Monika, it must really be a great feeling to have so much beautiful yarn!

Sonja, your new cozy blanket is sooo beautiful again—I’d love to crochet those two little birds right away! How many stitches do you need for them? Would the pattern also work for pot holders? (My friend’s birthday is at the end of April, and I’ve planned to make her some pot holders, but I haven’t decided on a specific design yet.)

Ruth, that robin is so cute! I’ve actually wanted to crochet little birds for a long time, but somehow I never get around to it because other projects always take priority. Right now, for example, I’m still busy with Easter eggs.

OMG, I haven’t checked in for a little while, and you’ve made such cute, adorable things again. I’m just amazed by what you all manage to finish.

Arni, your Woodstock looks so cute.
ruhtk, your robin looks adorable. It looks totally “real.” Great job.
Sonja, your DF motif looks absolutely adorable. I love little birds.

Monika, you must have been so happy to treat yourself to some yarn again. Those are such warm, autumnal shades. I’m sure you’ll work your magic and make something wonderful out of it. We’re happy for you.

But I’ll admit honestly, despite my “yarn diet,” I’ve browsed a yarn shop every now and then, and I even wanted to order some new yarn, but... I ended up scrapping that idea after all. I still have yarn in stock, but no more pretty colors.
I have to use that up first anyway.

Have fun crafting!

Hi, just checking in briefly.
So much has happened here again in just two days.

Sandra , your Woodstock turned out beautifully once again.

Monika , you really went all out there. Your yarn looks great. I’m sure it’ll make for a lovely jacket. I’m happy for you and can’t wait to see it. I’m also getting some new yarn soon
as a belated birthday gift from a friend. I plan to knit a tunic with it and am really looking forward to it.

Ruth , your robin turned out so cute. We sometimes see them hopping around in our garden, too.

Sonja , your bird motif goes perfectly with this beautiful weather. You’re right—it would also make a lovely pot holder.
I’m already looking forward to seeing your big project.

I don’t have anything to show yet. I crocheted some chickens as egg cups for a friend—I’ve already given them away, so I didn’t take a picture. Then I spontaneously started a table runner for Easter.
With this beautiful weather—it’s 26 degrees today—I was out in the garden and didn’t really feel like crocheting. Maybe later—we’ll see.

I love Peanuts, and your Woodstock turned out really well, Sandra...

For a change, I’m working with fine yarn again.
I’m drawing inspiration from Japanese knitting patterns.

Oh Marlene, that’s such a delicate piece of knitting—since I’m curious, I’ll just ask right away what it’s supposed to be. It looks really lovely.

I’ve also been crocheting a little again… but first I’d like to show you my cardigan, which I got to test knit and is now finished

In between, I had to crochet a toilet paper roll hat for a friend—not really my style, but to each their own

And here’s my chubby wool sheep Henriette, who hopped off my needles last night

Let’s see what’s next on the needles—luckily, I never run out of ideas :-)

I wish you all a wonderful Good Friday, and since the weather isn’t supposed to be as lovely as it has been lately, we’ll all have a little more time for crafts

Stay healthy

Your Henriette is really cute, Ines! She reminds me a bit of Shaun the Sheep.

March is over, so I’m showing you the progress on my temperature blanket once again:

Thanks to the high temperatures over the last few days, it’s getting more and more colorful. I’m already looking forward to red!

I have another little project to show you. It was something I worked on in my spare time. The basic pattern is from Mondmaennchen. A frog was still missing from my collection.

Ines, your jacket turned out beautifully. The colors are just amazing. I’d love one like that, too.

Ruthk, your blanket already looks great with that yellow in it. I like it.

Thank you so much for your feedback on the police officer 😍

Hello everyone,

You really have knitted and crocheted some absolutely magical things. I haven’t been in the forum very often lately, but that will change again after Easter. In any case, I’m very impressed by your creations!

Andrea's frog appeals to me very much—a real eye-catcher! And dressed so cutely with the little pants and the red bow tie.

But Ines’s wool sheep Henriette has also won me over. It looks so loyal and so soft. You just want to pet it right away. Of course, I especially like the cardigan. I hope, dear Ines, that you really enjoy wearing it and that it feels comfortable. See, now you’ve mastered your first top-down raglan project without any problems. You can be proud of yourself.

Ruth’s temperature blanket is growing and already looks good. It’s almost a shame that red tones are being added now. I like the “aqua tones.” I’ll photograph mine soon.

I also like the cheerful bird motifs on Sonja’s cuddle cloth. It looks so lovely. It could also be a pillow if it had a backing. If you lay down on it, you’d think you could hear the birds chirping.

And one of the little birds could be Ruth’s robin, which also looks great.

I have also been knitting a cardigan lately—in parallel with Ines. Since it’s going to become a pattern, I have to knit it in several sizes. And of course each one gets a different color, otherwise I get bored. Yesterday I started another one, this time for myself.

I wish you all a lovely Easter and plenty of time for your crafts over the days off.

Best wishes from Ina

Wow, there’s really a lot going on here! Or rather, the sheep is. :)

Ines, your Henriette hatched just in time for Easter. She looks very woolly. And so does the toilet roll hat. I like your jacket best. The colors, just everything. It turned out just as beautiful as Ina’s original.

Marlene, you’re an expert at such delicate things. I’m curious to see what it’s going to be. I also enjoy playing around with patterns.

Andrea, your frog is super cute. He looks really cheeky and is surely looking forward to the coming warm days—probably only after Easter. Until then, he’ll brighten up your warm living room.

Ruth, your blanket has really grown quite a bit and is getting more colorful now.

Ina, you’re incredibly fast. The new jacket looks great too, but the other one would be more my style color-wise.

I’ve now felted the last 3 Kobel. One turned out a little lumpy. Since the felting wool was different, I suspect that one skein didn’t felt the same way as the others. But I think it’s still usable.

I’m almost finished with the pants for Sternchen now, too. All that’s missing are the straps and the buttons.
My yarn for the jacket is calling to me so much that I’ve already started designing it. Now I’m trying out different knitting patterns. The decision won’t be easy—I already know that. And I’m winding away busily.

Have a lovely evening and a nice Good Friday tomorrow.

Andrea, that frog is so cute! It also fits right in with the Easter decor.

Ina, your jacket looks really cozy. I really like the shades of yellow, too.

Monika, you’re really quick with your squirrel nests. I think the baggy one is especially cool. It looks like it was designed that way—a totally unique squirrel villa, so to speak.

Phew, you guys are crafting faster than I can write!

Ina, are you making jackets in every size now??? Whoa! What a massive undertaking!

Monika, I think that pumpkin-shaped drey is super interesting too! I’d love to sleep in one of those.

I admire the lovely figures :)

I’m currently working on a summer scarf, Moni.
Knitted wider, it can be turned into a stole.

I like the knitted coat, Ina.
I knitted one ages ago.
Unfortunately, I don’t have it anymore.

OMG, you really can't keep up here anymore, you're all knitting and crocheting like crazy.

Marlene, your scarf will surely turn out pretty again; I really don't like knitting with such thin yarn. It takes so long until you're finished.

Ines, it's lovely that you've finished your cardigan. I'm sure you can still wear it now at Easter.
Your Henriette is sooo sweeet, I like her very much.

Ruth, your blanket gets prettier and prettier with every new color.

Andrea, you adapted your frog wonderfully. With his stylish pants, he looks simply funny.

Ina, you've already finished another cardigan. You certainly won't get bored if you want to knit several sizes at once. It's nice in yellow too, but I simply like your first color better.

Monika, the squirrels will surely be happy about your dreys. They certainly won't mind that they didn't turn out so round and smooth.

I wish you all a lovely Easter weekend.

I’m frustrated... :-(

After 3 rows, my new project already didn’t match the pattern. No idea whether the mistake is mine or in the pattern. It wouldn’t be the first time I’ve fiddled around and then it turned out to be the pattern.

I’ll give it one more try, then I’m giving up. Especially since I’m noticing again how much I dislike crocheting with such thin yarn. You just don’t make any progress.

AND: Pattern stuff where I always have to pay attention to the rows and keep counting stresses me out completely.

I was just so in love with the photo for the pattern.

Ruth, Anja and Marion, thank you for your feedback on my "pumpkin drey." Well then, I’m reassured. It will be a special home for the little squirrels. ;-)

Marion, you’re pretty fast at the moment, too. Are you now catching up on everything you missed a few weeks ago? The way your table runner is made reminds me of the bistro curtains I used to crochet a lot.

Marlene, it’s nice that your scarf is growing so quickly. I’m really not in the mood for such fine details right now.

Anja, if I were you, I’d contact the author. I’m sure she’ll be grateful for your question and might be able to boost your enthusiasm again.

I’ve finally decided which projects to continue with. That’s really hard for me at the moment. One skein of thick yarn is now waiting to be turned into a running belt for the squirrels’ playground. And two skeins are already lying here for a birthday gift for my friend. She’s getting potholders with Sonja’s cute birds. My fingers are practically itching for a double-face project.

Yes, and I can show something again, too. Sternchen’s overalls are finished. She looks absolutely adorable in them. A super nice addition to the matching sweater.

Dear friends,

thank you so much for your feedback on my Henriette—you won’t believe it, but my friend and her husband talked me into giving it to them right away on Thursday……and since I’m a good-natured person, I gave it to them. So today I went right back to get more of this yarn and am now working on an Henriette for myself....Luckily, the store was open and still had the yarn—

but there’s plenty here again for me to marvel at....

First, of course, Andrea’s little frog—so cute.....

Ina’s jacket in her curry yellow is, of course, also beautiful, I’ve now started a second one in a color with a purple gradient; I’ll show the finished jacket here later, but I have to make it in secret—it’s for my mom.

Marion, I really like your table runner, too; I’ve never crocheted anything like that before, simply because my mom does it and she makes things for me every now and then.

Marlene, your summer scarf looks like it’s going to turn out really nice—I’m still in love with that soft pink

Monika, you’ve been so, so hard at work, and yes, the pumpkin basket is gorgeous—I can already picture the cute little squirrels living inside it. I’m curious to see how the treadmill turns out.
And of course Strenchen’s overalls—they’re so beautiful; she must feel really comfortable in them, and it’s still cool enough for pants like that.

I don’t have anything to show for myself just yet; I’m trying out different things, but tonight is a long soccer night, so I’ll work on Henriette for now—at least as much as I can manage.

Wishing you all two more wonderful holidays!

Marlene, your scarf has really grown—now you can really see the beautiful pattern.

Monika, the pants for Sternchen look great. Everything goes together perfectly—I really like it.
I haven’t gotten much done lately; I’ve been busy in the garden a lot and helping my husband.

Ines, no wonder your Henriette is already gone. She’s just so cute.

Marion, the table runner turned out great. Looks like you used a thin crochet hook.

Marlene, your scarf looks like a lot of work, too. I’ve set my infinity scarf aside for now and crocheted the Schneckenpost (above). Knitting nothing but knit stitches in rounds was too boring for me. But once I can knit outside on the balcony again, I’ll definitely carry on with it.

Monika, your little star looks really stylish. It all goes together beautifully.

Well, now I wish everyone a lovely Easter. Take care and enjoy yourselves, even if it’s cold outside. But that just means it’s a great time for crafting without missing out on anything.

Very well done and great colors Ruth!

And now I know who Sternchen is, too. I always thought he was your grandson, Monika.

Anja, don’t give up so quickly. If you like the project, write to the author. There’s always room for improvement. Yes, my favorite is the little baby doll. My two granddaughters are named Linja (5) and Juna (almost 2).

Ruth, you always have such great ideas for such tiny things. No sooner has that cute little robin hopped off the needle than a snail is already crawling through your apartment. You’re so incredibly industrious and have such great ideas—I admire them all.

Ines, thanks for the “pumpkin” feedback. :-) I’ve decided to crochet that big ball of yarn into a nest for now. It’s almost done. Since it’s still pretty thick, I’ll probably still be able to make a treadmill for the little squirrels from it. Let’s see how far it goes. I can knit that, and that suits me better. Otherwise, my arm can’t handle the thick yarn, and I can’t risk that.

Make yourselves comfortable. We’re expecting nice weather again on Easter Monday, but after that, it’ll be winter again for a few days. Oh well, I’ve got plenty of yarn.

Traditionally, we dye our Easter eggs with onion skins. I also baked some cookies and braided bunnies.

Christina, you’ve been incredibly busy for the Easter Bunny. Such pretty eggs—I wouldn’t even want to eat them. The crocheted ones are absolutely adorable, too, as are the bunnies. You’ve got a great selection—bunnies and eggs to eat, and others just to admire.

Monika I’ve started this 4 times now. 3 times the foundation chain was twisted, and 1 time the pattern repeat was off because stitches were missing. (???)

I gave the designer a 1☆ review out of sheer anger and frustration, after which she immediately reached out to me and offered help.

Now I keep thinking about how mean that was. She put work into it, and it’s not her fault if I can’t figure it out. On the other hand, I’d had similar frustration with one of her earlier patterns before, although I eventually figured it out and the pattern really did contain errors that would have made it impossible to continue. It cost me several days of puzzling, a lot of frustration, and a lot of unraveling!!!
Maybe that’s why I had a sense of déjà vu this time and subconsciously thought: "Oh no, not again!"
It’s a tricky issue.
That’s why I think it’s important that patterns are tested by someone. აუცილებლად include that in your patterns if that was done. For me as a buyer, that’s a sign of quality!

I’m going to try it one last time now, and I still need to come up with something to help myself keep that darn foundation chain from twisting. There’s got to be some kind of MacGyver trick for that!

Christina, the eggs look beautiful, both the dyed ones and the crocheted ones. I’ve had the pattern for quite a while too, but I still haven’t tried it out.

The baked bunnies are sure to be delicious.

Anja, there actually is a MacGyver trick. It’s really simple

You crochet a few chain stitches, then take the hook out and insert it into the starting loop. Now just continue crocheting as usual.

Just search for “twisted chain stitches” on Google. There’s a video on YouTube.

Thanks Marion, I already found that one. I’m not sure if that works in this case, since you don’t insert the hook back into the 1st st. You basically crochet a Y and then join the chain back together.

I recycled some old cotton bed sheets and turned them into pot holders. I crocheted one and knitted the other. Knitting doesn’t work—you’ll burn your fingers.
Too bad, because I actually think the knitted one is prettier.

Good evening, everyone ...

I hope you had, or are still having, a lovely Easter. Good thing that for most people the typical April weather only arrived today. In this weather you don’t have to go outside and can settle down nice and cozy with your knitting or crochet in front of the TV. I’m currently knitting my next cardigan—it’s for me!

My temperature blanket got some crochet added to it today too, and now it looks like this:

You’ve all been very busy too!

Monika, I really like your dreys! The “pumpkin-shaped” one is my favorite. If I were a squirrel, I’d definitely want to move in there. A lovely idea and wonderfully made! I also think the red overalls for Sternchen are very sweet. And they go so well with the sweater, the hat, and the little shoes—everything is truly adorable.

Marlene, your knitted patterned scarf is quite a challenge. With so much patterning and fine yarn, you have to be very careful and concentrate. You can’t do anything else on the side. I admire your care and perseverance. Only at the end, after blocking the scarf, will the full beauty of the pattern unfold. I’m already looking forward to that photo.

Marion, your Easter table runner looks very pretty. I just imagined it on a beautifully set table. It stays subtly in the background, but its motifs create such a lovely atmosphere.

Ines, I’m glad you’re knitting a cardigan for your mom too. I’m still in cardigan fever myself. Now I’m finally making one for me. There’s a little purple in my shade too, but overall it’s probably more dark and colorful.

Ruth,
I’ve rarely seen such a colorful and cheerful snail with such lovingly packed luggage. It’s truly wonderful! I love the colors, the color design, and the idea—absolutely lovely!

Kristina, what beautiful Easter things you crocheted! So many cute little bunnies and then all those colorful Easter eggs. You really want to look at everything longer and more closely and enjoy it. I also like that you added lace ribbon bows to the eggs. Are the hanging loops crocheted? They almost look like beads.

The Easter eggs dyed with onion skins look interesting. How did you make the little leaf impressions? Oh, and the baked braided bunny looks far too beautiful to eat.

Anja, I understand your frustration about the pattern that just doesn’t really want to work out. That definitely takes the fun out of it. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you’ll still manage it. On the other hand, your potholders made from the old cotton bedding look good, are useful, and are also an example of reusing old things.

I wish all readers a relaxing evening.

Best wishes from Ina

Arni those jars are absolutely amazing. ♡

So, I came up with a solution for that stubborn foundation chain:

THIS WAY, NOTHING COULD GET TWISTED!

After already putting 7 hours of work into it, hopefully I can finally get started properly now.

hello everyone,
at this late hour I wanted to stop by here again, and once again you’ve all been so busy. Compliments to everyone on your wonderful creations, which I once again got to admire.

I hope you all still had a reasonably nice Easter, or a quiet one, because of the contact restrictions and all that.

Oh Anja, I hope your “low” passes soon. Things will get better. Sometimes you really just run out of “steam.” But you found a clever solution for your ch chain. I wouldn’t even have thought of that. I’ll have to remember it.

Unfortunately I still can’t show anything yet; it’s still in progress. Right now I’m continuing to crochet a little doll that had been “parked” because of the police officer project.
I need to take a little break.

Have a relaxed evening, then

best wishes from cold Norway,
with strong wind, rain, and briefly some hail in between. April weather, basically.

see you tomorrow

The posts in threads with the most “likes” are marked in green, Anja.

Your Easter decorations turned out great, Christina! A great way to use up leftover yarn.

Ina, that jacket is turning out great again—love the color combination. Your temperature blanket is also getting more and more colorful. I find it interesting how our blankets differ in some ways yet are similar in others. Next comes another stripe in “cool” colors.

Sandra, the jars are cute (inside and out 🙂)—did you design them yourself?

Good morning!

I hope your Easter holidays were enjoyable, despite the contact restrictions?

A lot has been happening here again, and I had to scroll back quite a bit to catch up :)

Ruth, your little snail is absolutely adorable, and the colors really make it pop—I’d love to incorporate it into my decor to bring a little color into these gray days again.

Anja, hmm, I think everyone’s had their little struggles with twisting chain stitches at some point, but necessity is the mother of invention, and I think it’s great that you didn’t give up and are still working on your project. I like your potholders—it’s amazing what you can make out of old bed sheets.

Christina, I really like your Easter decorations too, and those bunny braids look delicious. I know what you mean about the onion skins, too, but I still don’t know how to get the pattern to show up on them.

Sandra , your jars are cute too—they make you want to empty them straight away.

Ina, after I was pretty much done with my jacket, I had to take another look at all the great colors in the shop and ordered the purple one. Now I’m already working on the shawl collar. For my mom, I didn’t need the same length as for myself—I borrowed one of her jackets to get the measurements....My daughter admired my jacket over the weekend, but the color gradient isn’t really her thing—though she’d love to have a jacket of her own, preferably in a solid color. I’ll look for some suitable yarn.
The temperature blankets are coming along, and some color is starting to come into play, but for now it’s back to cool colors… that doesn’t quite fit with my rug plan the way I’d hoped, so I’m jotting down the values, but I don’t know yet if I’ll actually crochet according to them—maybe it’ll just be a color change to suit my taste; I’m not really feeling it right now.

I’m currently working on a little sleepy doll and tinkering away. I still need to do a photo shoot today for a finished project, but I’ll need daylight for that.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.........

Good morning, everyone,

What beautiful things there are to admire here again!

Ruth, I’ve already admired your snail mail in the new patterns section. Such a great idea and execution! It’s a lovely decoration. And maybe even a sweet gift for your own mail carrier, if he’s one of the nice ones.

Ina, your cardigans are all gorgeous—I couldn’t possibly choose just one color. Although, I’d probably go with the yellow one and the purple-with-dark-multicolored version. I’m already looking forward to seeing your own cardigan when it’s finished—those are my colors, too! If you still need to knit one in XS for the pattern—*jingle jingle* :-) :-) :-)

Anja, necessity often breeds the best ideas. Now (almost) nothing can go wrong with the next project. What will it be?

Sandra, I’m always so impressed by your thoughtful gifts :-) Those bunny jars look so cute!

Andrea, we may live in Switzerland, but yesterday it felt just like Norway. Apparently we had the same lousy weather, brrrr..... It’s all the nicer when you can listen to the wind and rain from the comfort of your sofa...

Christina, your Easter decorations are gorgeous! You’ve been incredibly hard at work—not just with the yarn, but also with dyeing eggs and baking. Mmmm, I could really go for one of those braided Easter bunnies right now :-) I’m also curious—how did you get those pretty leaf patterns on the dyed eggs!? They look really professional!

Ines, Ina’s jacket seems to be pretty addictive. Let us know when you’ve found a matching solid-color yarn for your daughter—I’d be interested in that, too.

Now I wish you all a wonderful day! Here, the rooftops are white, but the sun is shining from a bright blue sky and the breeze has died down—a glorious day, if only it were January *laughs*

Best regards, Sonja

I would never have thought of using safety pins, Anja.

Luckily, I can highlight the relevant repeats in color on my computer.
It’s definitely not a “I’ll just do this on the side” kind of project, Ina.

Your snail mail is really cute, Ruth.

Hi everyone,

here’s how I do the leaf-dyeing technique: Collect leaves with a nice texture, place one on each egg, and pull a piece of sheer pantyhose about 15 cm long over them. Tie both ends tightly together and submerge them in the dye bath. Take the egg out of the dye and hang it up to dry. Before the dye is completely dry, remove the pantyhose and the leaf. If you want it to have a nice sheen: rub it with a piece of bacon or oil after it dries. It’s amazing what shapes nature creates in leaves...

Best regards 🖖
Silvia

To everyone who asked how the leaf patterns get onto the eggs: First, I look for the right kind of greenery, then I “glue” the leaves and flowers onto the raw egg with a little water (and secure them with a bit of thread if necessary), then I wrap the egg in a piece of old stocking and tie it tightly. The little bundles are then boiled in onion-skin broth, and this time I let them sit for another five minutes after boiling them for 10 minutes. In our family, we traditionally dye the eggs on Good Friday. I used to need redwood or logwood as well, but now, for our two-person household (and for the few eggs we give away), onion skins are enough for me.

Hello everyone,

After just one day, there’s already so much new to read and see.

Ruth , your little snail mail is so cute—the colors look great.

Anja , that’s such a great idea you came up with using the safety pins. I can’t quite picture what it’s going to be yet.  I’m sure you’ll show it to us eventually. The idea with the pot holders is nice, too. I like the knitted ones better as well. Couldn’t you sew two of them together so you don’t burn your fingers?

Ina , your blanket has really become quite colorful by now. The new jacket will look pretty in that color, too.
Yeah, Sonja ’s right—this jacket is addictive. I’m already thinking about knitting one for

myself.
Now I’d like to show you my latest project—I finished it just in time for Easter Sunday. A huge thank you to Ines—she let me give it a try.

OMG, there’s so much going on here!! I can’t even keep up anymore!

Anja , the solution for your foundation chain looks very creative—a great idea. :-)
I have a question about your pot holders made from old bed sheets: How do you make them? Do you cut strips out of the fabric? I can’t even picture that right now.

Ina , I really like the colors of your cardigan, too. I have quite a few purple items in my closet, too. And your blanket is really picking up steam now. The color mix is getting more and more interesting and colorful. Thanks also for your feedback on the Kobeln. I’m curious to see how they’ll be received. They’ll be going on a trip soon. And for my little star, I’m going to knit a whole set again with different colors.

Sandra , I’ve already admired your Easter bunny gift jars in another thread. A really nice idea that’s sure to bring joy.

Silvia and Christina , thanks for the instructions for dyeing eggs with onion skins and patterns. It sounds pretty simple.

Marion , how cute! You got to crochet the sheep. It turned out great and fits nicely in your garden. Now it just needs to graze the meadow.

In the meantime, I’ve started another DF project. It’s my friend’s birthday soon, and now she’ll be getting these pretty pot holders with the bird motif. The colors are among her favorites, and I think the combination is really beautiful, too. This time I’m knitting with pure cotton, which is going better than expected. Practice really does make a difference here. This is what the first one looks like now:

And I’ve also finished a nest for wild animals. Here’s what it looks like. The edge is folded over, so it’s twice as tall.

Monika I cut it in one piece in a spiral.

But it shed like crazy. It’s best to cut it outside.

Marion that’s a suuuper idea to add another knitted piece—I wouldn’t have thought of that. That’s how I’m going to do it!
And I want to buy another Henriette ♡♡♡ pattern!!!!!!! Right now!!!!!

Monika, you’re just incredibly fast!!! I haven’t gotten much further with my lovey yet—last night I had to unravel several rows because of a silly mistake. Here’s what it looks like now (that’s where I was yesterday too!):

Hi everyone,

Sandra, those two belated Easter gifts look cute. The sweet contents are wrapped in style. I especially love the little carrots along the edge and that the bunnies are wearing “hair accessories.”

Ines,
I’m glad your mom is now getting a cardigan in shades of purple and lilac. If she admired yours, you can’t go wrong. I imagine the cardigan would look nice in a solid color, too. For the one I’m working on now, I’m going to make the shawl collar in a solid color. That’s why I’ve already found some yarn. If it works, I could knit a whole one out of it. Now I’m curious to see what the solid color I chose looks like in real life and whether it goes with my dark, colorful one.

If the solid-color yarn works, then Sonja could knit one for herself, too :-)

Marion, I really like your “Henriette” as well. Seeing her sitting there in the garden makes you want to rush right over and pet her. I also think the decoration “in her hair” is cute.

Everyone —thank you so much for the information on how to get those delicate leaf imprints on the eggs. I’ll definitely try that next year. A lovely idea.

Monika —your new DB project, the pot holders with the pretty bird motif—already looks great. Really professional. Your friend will definitely be thrilled with these one-of-a-kind pieces. But first, they have to be finished.

Christina , your DB comfort blanket is already looking great, too. It’s not about speed. Especially with pictorial designs, I think neat workmanship is more important—and you’d always notice a mistake. In the end, it’s only the result that counts! The design already looks beautiful. I’m looking forward to admiring it when it’s finished.

I kept knitting on my cardigan yesterday. Now I’ve run out of yarn and am waiting for a new supply. I want to make the shawl collar on the front a solid color (either purple or heather-colored)—that’s why today I only have the back to show you.

Have a wonderful day.
Warm regards, Ina

Christina, how cute—those little bears!! I’ll knit them later as pot holders, but for myself. I actually would have finished the first shawl this morning. But I was in the same boat as you. I had to rip back a few rows because of a mistake. Oh well, time to start again. It’ll just be finished later. Right now, I’m also writing the pattern and designing new things.

Ina, your jacket looks great—so different from the others. Still, I like the color combo of the first one best. You know, red-orange-yellow is totally my thing.

Anja, this is really motivating… I feel the same way you do. I don’t think I’ve ever crafted this much before. Since I’ve been in this group, it’s been incredibly inspiring. I’m excited to see how your new project comes along. Keep at it and look forward to the result.

Oh, I haven’t even finished the first lovey yet, and I’m already planning the next one—and the one after that—for my little grandchildren: The youngest is also getting the little bears, and Nicolas is a dinosaur fan!

For a short while, I felt just like Anja: a dip in motivation because there are too many unfinished projects lying around, and for me, the final steps are usually the hardest… But the little bear lovey has reignited my ambition… Thanks, Sonja! It’s definitely needed—April is packed with birthdays!

Hello everyone,

Wow, you’ve all been busy crafting, but with this weather it’s good to have something to keep you occupied....

Christina, your little bears look lovely too. I crocheted the motif, using slightly thicker yarn as requested, and it turned out pretty chunky. I’ll try it again sometime with thinner, softer yarn. My friend wanted it for her granddaughter as a doll stroller blanket, so it works for that. As a cuddle blanket it wouldn’t be for me, at least not with the yarn I used, but I can also imagine that it would turn out finer if knitted. The pattern was very easy to follow.

Still, I spotted a mistake—it’s probably a mountain in the mist :-) Well, since it absolutely had to go onto the stroller by Easter Monday, I was told to leave it as it is. It’s not really my thing.

Monika, the little birds will surely turn out lovely again for you, and now you’ve even crocheted a little basket. I can well believe that crocheting with thick yarn is hard on the wrists, so you have to rest them a bit. But I think almost all of us here don’t really know how to stand still when it comes to crafts. I feel a bit like you, dear Monika: ever since I started posting here, I’ve been determined not to have any UFOs lying around, and my variety and curiosity about new things are growing too, but this shared exchange is lovely.

Yes, and so last night I finally, finally sewed together two of my unfinished knitting projects because I wanted to unwind from all the tension of the day.... There were lots of emotions for me yesterday—my daughter had her wedding dress fitting..... But now to the Fall 2020 UFOs: first, a short jacket for when it gets chilly and you’re sitting somewhere in a beer garden... well, if... and second, a top made from very thin yarn
Both were lightly steamed and shaped by me a little while ago and are now making their way into the wardrobe

I also have something new to show: the little sleeping doll Ida. I’ve had to crochet her several times already, and I actually didn’t want to write a pattern for her, since there are already quite a few of these dolls. But in the end I decided to do it anyway.

So, have a lovely day and let those needles clatter away!

Ines, I really love your writing style! ♡
Great jacket, great top. Exactly my colors. And the patterns are awesome. I’d never knit something like that—you always have to pay attention and count. Yuck!

Ida is also very, very cute. I’m just imagining Ida and Henriette together in the meadow. Henriette is eating and Ida is picking little flowers... *dream*

I’m slowly making progress with the pattern I cursed so much at first.

Anja, you’ve already made some progress—just don’t give up. BUT I know all too well that feeling when you just want to toss the whole thing in the corner and curse it. If you stick around and post here in the group a little longer, your determination will surely be reignited—just don’t give up. At least, that’s how it is for me. What are you actually making? I must have missed it with all the activity here sometimes :)

Thanks also for your feedback on the projects I’ve shown—I’m glad to hear it. I was just showing everything to my mom, haha…… Twenty years ago, I always admired my mom—she’d finish things so quickly—but now I’m always beating her to it.

Warm regards, Ines

Hello everyone,

I’m once again amazed at how you all find the time to crochet or knit such enchanting things. Every day I check this thread with excitement and curiosity. Yes, it’s wonderful that there are so many like-minded people here who love this hobby so much. Everyone understands each other’s enthusiasm.

Ines , you’ve been soooo hard at work! Your day must have 48 hours. I hope your daughter found a beautiful wedding dress yesterday. That must have been very moving, but also wonderful. A unique experience that will bind you together forever. It’ll go into the “treasure chest of memories.”

Your two knitted summer pieces look great and like they took a lot of hard work. Such delicate patterns, and the second one made with such fine yarn—that requires a lot of concentration and perseverance. The second one is my favorite because I love the neckline variation—a V-neck in the front and back. I can definitely see myself wearing that in the summer.

But your little cuddly doll Ida is absolutely enchanting, too! You can’t help but love and cuddle her. It’s great that anyone interested can now crochet their own.

The cuddle blanket with the charming little bear motif turned out beautifully, too. But you’re right—the crochet stitches make the motif a bit “coarser” and less supple. Still, it’s lovely as a doll stroller blanket. I could also imagine it as a pot holder for a young couple :-)

Christina is actually working on the little bear motif as a DB project right now, too. I think it looks finer when knitted because the stitches are smaller.

Anja, you’re really hard at work, too! First of all, kudos to you for pulling the crochet supplies out of the corner again after that rocky start. You always write so beautifully and directly. We’ve all been in those situations and can picture exactly what you mean. But after your trick with the safety pins, the chain stitches didn’t stand a chance of twisting—and just like that, your new tunic is growing and slowly taking shape. You can already picture the style. But we’re all still excited to see how it’ll look in the end.

I wish you all a wonderful day.
Warm regards, Ina

There’s a lot going on here again,

you’ve all been busy again, and such great things have been created. It’s hard to keep up with how fast your needles are clicking away.

Ina, Your new jacket turned out great, but the colors of the first one would be more my style. It’s amazing how fast you knit.

ines, you’re also incredibly fast at crocheting and knitting. The crocheted motif looks great. That’s true, crocheting with thick yarn doesn’t turn out as fluffy as with thin yarn or when knitted.
I like your little sleeping doll. I also have more crocheted dolls than animals or the like. No idea why.

Anja, that already looks promising. I’m curious to see how it turns out when it’s finished.

Monika, you’ve been busy again too. Knitted motifs simply look much more delicate. I admire how fast you work.

Right now I’m working on a rainbow CAL crochet blanket, and on my little doll—she still needs hair and shoes. But every now and then I have to take a crochet break. I want to finish soon so I can show you my creations too. There are also some UFOs lying around somewhere (an owl that still needs one foot and wings). They’re all just little things, but I just can’t quite bring myself to work on them at the moment.

Wishing you all a lovely afternoon of crafting.
It’s couch weather here, with a cold wind.

Best regards
Andrea

So this is going to be a tunic—there’s still a looooot of crocheting to do.
I’ve actually knitted a “Poncholover” like this before. I like the concept and the shape.
And you have to pay attention and count here, too, but since I’m getting a bit dull working from home, I figured my brain cells need to work a little harder now!

Andrea, your owl is just like my floppy bunny. I just checked—I bought the pattern in 7/19. And it’s still missing two ears. It’s going to be so cute, but then you stop right at the last minute. Bummer.

What I’ve been doing is setting aside Sundays to work on one project that needs to be finished. Right now, that’s the crocheted letters for my coworker’s name necklace. Otherwise, nothing ever gets done around here.

Last summer, I modified a store-bought pattern for a crocheted shirt because I didn’t want a regular shirt—I wanted something with spaghetti straps. I should really finish that this summer. If it turns out awesome, I’ll have a problem because I don’t remember how I made it. And then I’ll definitely want to make another one. *laughs*
I envy people with good memories...

Yes, Ines, I think our craft group here is great too, and I’d really miss it. Checking in here has become part of my daily routine. And so much has happened again.

Your little doll looks very pretty and is quite a sizeable one. At least that’s what it looks like. Who’s getting it? Or is she staying with you?
Your beautiful “UFOs” that are now finished. Wow! Those are two really elegant pieces, and surely knitted with a lot of love. You really missed out by not being able to wear them yet. With warmer temperatures coming soon, they’re exactly the right kind of clothing. And your teddy bear blanket looks great, too. It’s sure to be a hit as a doll’s blanket. The motif is easy to make out, even though it’s finer when knitted. That’s why I prefer knitting. It’s finer, more stretchy, and cozier. And I think that’s much nicer—at least for clothing.
You’ve got a big event coming up. Moms are usually more excited than the bride and groom. I hope you all have a wonderful time.

Anja, you’ve been keeping busy. You’ve made quite a bit of progress. It’s great that you’ve stuck with it! It’s turning out really nice. Keep it up!
Your wiggly bunny is practically begging to be brought to life! It’s going to be totally cute. It’s definitely worth it to crochet the ears and then sew it all together. We’re all really excited to see how cute it’ll look. Every Sunday—well, I’m looking forward to your bunny’s “Sunday birth.”

Ina and Andrea, thanks for your feedback on the shawl!
Andrea, I’m sure you’ll be able to show us your owl soon, right? It’s also just begging to be brought to life. I can hear it all the way from Bavaria. :)

Because of unraveling, the first pot holder only got finished today. It just needs a hanger—I forgot that part, unfortunately—and I’ll add it at the very end. Here’s what it looks like now:

Monika, how many hours a day do you actually knit? I’m always amazed at how much you get done in such a short time. The pot holder turned out really pretty, and I can hardly wait to cast on mine—I’m curious to see how the colors will look (the yarn is still on its way).

Thanks, Anja! :) Yeah, I think this color combo is great, too. Unfortunately, the teal doesn’t show up very well in the photo.

Christina, I haven’t knitted that much the last few days. A few hours last night and this morning, and then they were done. With the finger attachment, double-face knitting really goes pretty fast these days. I’m also curious to see your color mix. I’m sure it’ll turn out pretty again.

Have a cozy afternoon, everyone, with your needles and plenty of yarn!

Monika

Wow, I can’t even keep up anymore....

First off, thanks to Silvia and Christina for explaining the leaf pattern on the eggs! That sounds doable :-)

Ina, your jacket is so beautiful! Every piece becomes a precious one-of-a-kind item. I’m excited to see your version with the solid-color shawl collar—I can really picture that working well as a contrast.

Ines, your lovely summery clothes will definitely get some use soon! Even if maybe not right away at the beer garden, unfortunately. Thanks for showing us the crocheted shawl—it turned out beautifully! It’s perfect as a doll stroller blanket! And mountains shrouded in fog are a common sight in Switzerland, so it’s all completely authentic :-)

Anja, I still can’t quite picture your tunic finished yet. But since you’re making such quick progress now, we’ll surely get to admire the finished piece soon :-) I think it’s very disciplined of you to keep working on a not-soooo-beloved project every Sunday! You could turn the floppy bunny into a no-ear bunny, though—then you’d have saved yourself a Sunday ;-)

Andrea, will you show us a picture of your rainbow blanket sometime? Will it be as colorful as I imagine?

Christina and Monika, you hard-working knitters—I love seeing your creations and seeing how much fun you have making them, and then bringing joy to the recipients as well. The colors of Monika’s pot holders are amazing, and your grandson, Christina, will surely be thrilled with the blue little bear blanket! If by “mistakes” you mean that you accidentally knitted a stitch in the wrong color, I have a tip for you. You can let the stitch that was knitted with the wrong color a few rows back slip down to the affected row. Then, using a crochet hook, “knit up” again with the correct color. Of course, do this for the entire pair of stitches—that is, for both the knit stitch and the purl stitch. This works really well and is faster than unraveling.

I wish you all a lovely evening with plenty of yarn :-)

Haha, Sonja , a no-eared bunny—I already have a one-eared mouse here with nothing on it:

So basically amigurumi for lazy people :-)

You just have to give these things creative names.

Your tip about crocheting up with the same color actually sounds better than unraveling it.

It’s unbelievable—after just a two-day break, I’m already falling behind again. It seems like you’ve all switched into turbo mode.

Christina, I really like your teddy bear shawl—those are my colors.

Ina, you’ve almost finished your next jacket already. I’m curious to see which second color you’ll choose.

Ines, that crocheted blanket for the doll stroller was finished so quickly—it’s really beautiful. I’m sure the doll’s mum was very happy. Your Inge is absolutely adorable again in her dress and with that little bag.
That it’s unbelievable that you finished two UFOs right away. They’re both great—I really like the lace patterns. Now it just needs to get warm so you can wear them soon.

Anja, your tunic looks interesting. I still haven’t figured out what it will look like in the end, though. I’ll just wait and see.
Your bunny will surely be happy once it finally gets its ears. It looks a little sad right now, even though I’m sure it’ll turn out really pretty.

Monika,  I’ve already admired the potholder in the gallery. Your friend will definitely love it—the motif is so beautiful.
You’re just as fast as Sonja by now, and when it comes to knitting, you can’t tell the difference between the two of you.

I hope you all have a lovely evening.

A lovely good morning,

Monika, that potholder came together really quickly, and it turned out sooo beautiful. I don’t see any difference from Sonja’s originals either.

Anja, I’m sure you’ll finish your UFOs eventually. I’m really looking forward to the tunic, so just keep at it. But I know how it is myself, the time before writing here.....the motivation will definitely rub off on you too. Pick one of your unfinished projects each week, and it’ll work out, because at the moment the two of them do still look rather sad.

Dear ones, I’m not quite that fast either, and actually those two summer pieces had almost been forgotten. I have a basket where unfinished things usually end up, and I needed it for the bride during the fitting...haha...that’s when they came to light. Then I thought, well, you’re going to sew those together now, and so that was done late in the evening.

Wishing you all a lovely Friday

I’d love to see the rainbow blanket too! I’m sure I’ll feel inspired to start a new UFO then. ;-)

Good morning, lovelies,
this is the current status of my projects. The owl UFO, the doll still needs a wig and shoes. The blanket is crocheted from someone else's pattern; there was a CAL for it years ago at "Schoenstricken". I crocheted this piece in 3 days, after all 144 sts per row. For that I used my Catania, which I had still been saving for "best". I'm still on a yarn diet, after all.

Once again, so many great things.

I have tons of ideas swirling around in my head.
But first, I need to finish my current project.

The blanket is so beautifully colorful! But all those loose ends!!! Oh my gosh! I always crochet them right in.
Or is that supposed to be part of the fringe edge?

Oh, thanks, Anja. Yeah, I’ll use those as a fringe edge right away. I’ll wait until the end to join them together because I don’t know yet how many strands I’ll tie together.
Otherwise, I usually crochet them in right from the start. I hate having to weave in lots of ends.

How’s your tunic coming along?

The tunic I started is still sitting in the corner—it turned out a bit too wide somehow. But I’ve already crocheted the two hexagons together and worked around the edges. Unravel everything again? I don’t know. First, I’m going to finish this (doll, owl, blanket)

I really need to set aside a specific day just to keep crocheting my UFOs. Otherwise, they just keep piling up.

Have fun, everyone, and get ready for the weekend.

I just noticed that the beautiful colors of the blanket don’t really come through as well as they do in real life. They’re much more vibrant, of course.
