I really like projects made from leftover yarn, because they help you reduce your yarn stash a little. And you also usually get a quick sense of achievement :-) Here I’ll show you various patterns using the double-face knitting technique, each using approx. 25-35 g in two different colors, depending on how you knit them.

In another post, someone asked: When is a scrap really a scrap? I’ll show you projects that use a lot of scraps and others that use just a little.......

Crochet pattern for pumpkins - here, I’d say you’ll need a bit more leftover yarn to crochet the little pumpkin.

For these crocheted dishcloths small scraps of one color are enough, since each row can be crocheted with a new scrap.

For these knitted baby booties just a few grams of yarn are enough, since you can knit the sole in one color, the middle section with the cable pattern, and the cuff in a new color. The booties are knitted with a set of double-pointed needles.

You need very little yarn for these doll shoes. They come with two different cuff options and are also knitted with a set of double-pointed needles.

The smallest patterns, and they look great in any color too:

Crochet pattern: Little Heart in 3 Sizes

Whether as a Christmas tree ornament, keychain, or table decoration, little hearts always fit and can be crocheted very quickly with your leftover yarn.

Fish Fridolin

is the perfect gift for all fish lovers.

This little guy also works as a keychain or bag charm, or simply as an easy-care “fish in a goldfish bowl.”

This mini pattern is very quick to crochet, and with your leftover yarn you can crochet yourself a colorful school of fish.

Here’s the pattern.

I hope you have lots of fun crocheting.

Leftover yarn is perfect for making cute doll clothes. Knitting them brings you great joy, and the doll’s mom will be thrilled to receive them as a gift—not just at Christmas.

Here, I’ll show you some patterns where I’ve knitted doll clothes using leftovers from children’s clothing. And the best part is, you can also knit these children’s clothes using colorful leftovers—at least in part.

There are also toys for toddlers that you can easily crochet from leftover yarn. My grandchildren were very happy with them, and they’re still in use today.

The question is, at what point do you call something leftover yarn? For me, that’s always the case when a ball of yarn is no longer complete.
And you can still make an incredible number of things with leftovers like that:

Doll clothes, for example

Quilted jacket and overalls for small dolls

Rainbow dress for fashion dolls

Traditional costumes for dress-up dolls

or toys:

Mouse Hunt board game

Fruit crate for the children’s play shop

Vegetable basket for the children’s play shop

or bookmarks:

Dragon bookmark

Frog Prince bookmark

Clown bookmark

Appliqués:

Christmas appliqués

Good luck charm appliqués

 Baby appliqués

or, now for Christmas, nativity figures:

Nativity figures: Holy Family

Nativity figures: shepherd scene

Nativity figures: Three Wise Men with animals

Are you looking for more patterns for leftovers? Dann schau in meinem Shop vorbei!
Almost anything can be made with leftovers.
