I’ve also realized now that yarns aren’t always the same. You especially can’t rely on yardage at all, because the results can be completely different. I wouldn’t have thought so.

I’ve spent almost all of the last few days outside—it was sooo nice to enjoy spring. Tomorrow it’ll be cloudy again, and the day after tomorrow it’s finally supposed to rain. We really need the rain.

That’s so cute, Nina. Oh, knitting for such little angels is such a joy.

Slipovers are very practical right now during the transition between seasons, especially for kids. They don’t feel like they’re bundled up too heavily, but their torso still stays warm. My granddaughter loves her slipover—it’s coming in handy now when she’s playing outside—

Marlene, yes, the finished sock looks great—it turned out to be an ankle sock.

Marion, here’s the next color. I actually finished knitting this one last night. It’s mercerized cotton, so it has a bit of a sheen. It looks even better in person than in the photo. It’s a
delicate lilac.

Oh, your tips are great. I don’t want to sew it onto a T-shirt, since I already have plenty of shirts.
But the idea of sewing a bag or a pillowcase out of it—I like that.

I’d like to use the entire shirt—that is, the fabric. It’s perfect for a pillowcase. I just need to sew the front and back together. I think that’s what I’ll do.

The shirt has a picture I painted on it, and I’d really rather not donate it to a clothing drive. It just means a lot to me personally. It could still serve well as a pillow, especially since the fabric is pure cotton.

Another idea that just came to mind is a kitchen towel—you’d just need to hem the edges. Maybe that’s an idea for others here, too.

In any case, thank you all for your great ideas and expert advice. It’s already helped me a lot. I’m realizing right now that a pool of ideas like this one always sparks even more ideas. I wouldn’t have come up with this on my own.

Ines, pillows are a great idea. I’m sure they’ll look beautiful in your home again. I’m sure you’ll show them to us here. I really don’t like knitting or crocheting with chenille at all. I once crocheted a teddy bear with it and was glad when it was finished.

Now I’m going outside into the sun to finish knitting the next pair of doll pants. Yesterday I designed a doll blanket, which I’ll start on next.
