Does anyone recognize this plant?

Yes, dear Mona, I’ll definitely wait until the flowers come out. But thanks for the tip. :) I’m already being careful, but we can eat most of what’s in our garden—there are lots of wild plants that we’re grateful for.

Irene, if that turns out to be horseradish, that would be a little miracle. I’m wondering how it got there. The evening primroses are growing back on the lawn now, too—unfortunately, we mowed them down along with the rest. And they look exactly the same. By the way, you can eat every part of the evening primrose, even the seed pods later on. They’re very healthy—it’s a medicinal plant.

I’ll definitely let you know and post a photo here as soon as the flowers bloom.

Does anyone recognize this plant?

Ina, I just downloaded a plant identification app. It says the same thing as Marlene. Thanks for the tip!

Marlene, what’s the name of the app you’re using?
Ina, maybe you can ask your son which one he has, too.

Does anyone recognize this plant?

Yeah, that’s really exciting. Marlene, you’ve probably hit the nail on the head. We’ve always had evening primroses in the garden, and I’ve actually been missing them this year. Now it looks like it’s growing right next to our patio.

How wonderful!! I’m so happy!

Thanks for your help. I’ll definitely post more photos here once they’ve grown a bit. Then we’ll know for sure.

Check online to see what amazing medicinal plants evening primroses are. Every part of them is edible and super healthy. We always sprinkle the flowers on our granola and salads.

Seriously? Where did that come from all of a sudden? We’ve never had it before. I’ll have to try it tomorrow.

We have a plant growing here that I haven’t been able to identify yet. I don’t want to pull it out—maybe it’s edible. It’s growing in our compost (bokashi).

If anyone can help me out, I’d really appreciate it.

Here’s what the plant looks like:

Swap Package - These Are the Creations That Came from It

Wow, Veronika, that looks amazing!

I started the gauge swatch with the purple Baby Merino, but the yarn gave out right from the first few meters. It kept breaking and unraveling into separate strands. It worked after that, but it’s very thin. I might save it for a double-faced hat. In any case, I can’t do anything with it for now. Now I’ll have to come up with something else.

Ruth, I would have totally believed that you designed that embroidery picture yourself.

The pattern is really very pretty—I’m absolutely thrilled with it. They’re not dropped stitches. It sort of fell into my hands, so to speak—completely by chance while I was experimenting with a hat. I think it looks especially nice on the little dress.

Now I’m going to finish crocheting the bag for Juna first, and then I’ll make a gauge swatch with some lovely yarn from Ina’s swap package.

Here’s the bag from 2 days ago; part of the strap is already attached now.

Steffi, your gloves are absolutely gorgeous and truly something special. Alpaca is very well suited for that. They look really warm and cozy.

Ines, your scarf turned out very pretty, too. It’s a great pattern, and I like the colors as well.

I’ve set aside the Babymerino (purple) for a gauge swatch. I’ll probably knit that up next from the swap yarn. You can do quite a lot with 5 skeins, maybe together with another color.

Wow, it was really hot where you are today! It’s like being in a sauna!

It was only 28 degrees here today, and it was perfectly comfortable outside in the shady garden. Tomorrow it’s supposed to reach 34 degrees. I’d rather be indoors then. At least we’ll treat ourselves to breakfast in the garden.

Ruth, you really always have such great ideas. The beach chair looks really great. And so does your embroidery. Did you design that yourself? It reminds me of the embroidered cards I used to make for Easter and Christmas. I even found one of them just the other day.
