This colorful, cozy cardigan made from merino wool is just right for toddlers. Children that age love pockets. And the cardigan also has a practical hood.

The cardigan is knitted top-down with raglan shaping and has only very few seams. The pockets are knitted in on two sides, making them very sturdy.

Recommended for advanced knitters.

Weekend Plans and Stress-Free Zone

Wow, Mel, you really treated yourself—what a joy! :)

I’ll be able to open my own shop soon, so I’m sticking to my diet. It’s also fun to browse through my own “shop” and create new projects.

I’ve got a lot to do this weekend—things that have been piling up—but unfortunately that includes cleaning and chores… grrrr. But I’m sure I’ll still have time for some knitting.

Best, Monika

Final Stretch and Awards Ceremony for the November Projects

My November:

UFO Queen in November
[ x] I finished two UFOs in November and have truly earned the title of UFO Queen.
Details about the UFO(s):
I finished knitting the sleeping bag for my next grandchild. The baby’s mom will get it for Christmas.
I also finally finished crocheting a large granny square with a border over 40 cm. My granddaughter will get it for Christmas for her dolls. I also finished a smaller one. I posted pictures of them in the November Projects thread.

Leftover Yarn Champion in November
[ x] In November, I used up lots of pretty and colorful leftover yarn—I emptied my scrap basket—and earned the title “Leftover Yarn Champion.”
I crocheted many of the scraps into a large and a small granny square.

Yarn Diet / Yarn Empress / Willpower Champion in November
[x ] I haven’t bought any yarn since October. The title “Yarn Empress” definitely and rightfully belongs to me.

Hardworking Christmas Elves
[ x] I worked on Christmas gifts in November.
Details:
Both UFOs are Christmas gifts.

New Things Learned in November
[ x] I learned something new in November, though it was unrelated to my hobbies of knitting and crocheting.
Details: I took a training course to become a drinking water consultant—it was very interesting and helps me stay healthy so I can keep crafting for a long time to come. - )

[x ] I wrapped myself in a cozy blanket while crafting or kept warm in other ways, but I had a lot of fun doing it.
Details: In the evenings on the couch, wrapped in a blanket, it was great fun to knit the sleeping bag.

Raglan from the Top / Raglan from the Bottom

Of course, there is also a raglan sweater for teddy bears and dolls measuring 25–30 cm. This one was knitted as a raglan from the bottom up. It was designed for my Fynn and fits him perfectly.

A lovely project for beginners, too. Basic skills should be in place.

Raglan from the Top / Raglan from the Bottom

This women’s cardigan made from merino wool was knitted with raglan from the bottom. It is comfortable, fits close to the body to flatter the figure, and also has good stretch. This means it fits sizes 38–42 with the measurements described.

There are hardly any seams; the pockets were knitted in except for one side, so they have a sturdy hold.

The pattern was written in a print-friendly format. Recommended for advanced knitters.

Little Helpers Tuesday: Any hard-working Christmas elves here?

I’m currently knitting a sweater out of sock yarn for my granddaughter. Unfortunately, I realized last night that it turned out a bit too short, so now I have to unravel part of it again. Darn!

I want to finish it quickly—it’s going to be mailed before Christmas because she needs it.

Right now, I’m also writing up a pattern, and over the next few days I plan to start baking cookies.

Do you have a few skeins of cotton left over and don’t know what to do with them? Then I’ve got the right project for you here.

This round collar is extremely practical and only needs one skein of cotton. It is absolutely beginner-friendly to knit and well described in the pattern. You can still finish lots of these by Christmas and then give them as gifts. Gifts like these are always well received.

With this, you’ll have another lovely Christmas gift ready. Just start right away so it will be finished—maybe even in time for St. Nicholas Day.

By the way, here’s an idea for St. Nicholas Day: Try placing a flowerpot with this cover in front of the door. It holds quite a lot—as a surprise for the whole family. :)

Wishing you all a relaxing evening and a wonderful week!
