Weekend Plans and Stress-Free Zone

What are your plans?

I’m currently in the car, heading to a conference that runs through Saturday evening. I left my crochet hook at home, but I’ll be crocheting on Sunday. I want to make those cute little bells from Küma for my window.

I just got back from my yarn shopping trip and managed to snag 2000g of sheep’s wool for my coat (which is a bit more than I actually need) and various other skeins. That should be enough to last me for the next few weeks...
It was really nice to do something alone with my best friend again—unfortunately, that happens way too rarely because of the distance. Tomorrow we’re going to take it easy at a forest Christmas market, and I’ll be knitting in between.

Wow, Mel, you really treated yourself—what a joy! :)

I’ll be able to open my own shop soon, so I’m sticking to my diet. It’s also fun to browse through my own “shop” and create new projects.

I’ve got a lot to do this weekend—things that have been piling up—but unfortunately that includes cleaning and chores… grrrr. But I’m sure I’ll still have time for some knitting.

I’m still sticking to my diet.

This morning I baked a pumpkin pie. (I had some left over from my fall decorations.)
Later, I’ll put up some Christmas decorations.
Maybe tomorrow I can continue knitting the project I started.

So, today I finally put up all my Christmas decorations. I’m such a “Christmas freak.” I put Christmas decorations in every spare corner :-)

Yeah, Ruth, that’s exactly how it should look...

We went to the Christmas market with friends, the first one this year. They had kale and mulled wine there... Somehow, the first one of the year is always extra delicious.

I’m in the final stretch with my Christmas gifts, the list is done and I’m only missing two gift ideas... one children’s gift, where we’re still waiting to find out which Christmas wish we’ve been assigned, and one for my sweetheart... 
As always, the family gifts are homemade; for them, I’ve cast concrete houses and crocheted lots of fir trees. The whole thing is supposed to be arranged on rough boards.
The boards are currently soaking in water to swell up, then they’ll be roughened up with a wire brush and painted to look old - so most of the work on that is already done. 

The apartment is decorated too - I think it’s going quite well.

Maybe we’ll visit another Christmas market if it doesn’t rain all day. Otherwise, we’ll bake the first cookies of the season.

My sweetheart asked for spare ribs with sweet potatoes for tomorrow, which means the oven will be doing most of the work... so it’ll probably be a relaxing evening.

Good morning. I’m just relaxing on the sofa right now. Anton is at my mother-in-law’s, and my husband is still asleep. We were out with friends last night, and it got late :-).

Later, I’d like to go to a small Christmas market, and then we’ll pick up Anton.
