Meadow Green, Turquoise, Sky Blue: Vacation Time Is Within Reach

A little bracelet like this knits up very quickly. But be careful, they can be addictive! Suddenly you’ll want more and more of them!
Ideal for using up leftover yarn; you need two colors of the same cotton yarn.

Meadow Green, Turquoise, Sky Blue: Vacation Time Is Within Reach

A knitted cotton stole is ideal for cool summer nights, when it’s simply so lovely outside that you don’t want to go in at all. It looks great in turquoise—but of course in any other color too! The pattern is a simple brioche stitch (explained in a tutorial) and is very relaxing to knit.

The pattern can be found here.

Weekend Projects: Do You Already Have a Captivating Project?

And while we're on the subject of summer scarves - I'd also recommend this one to you. It's both knitted and crocheted. Not quite as quick to finish as the one mentioned above, but it's fun to make.

You can find the pattern here.

Weekend Projects: Do You Already Have a Captivating Project?

My suggestion for the weekend is this summer scarf, which knits up really quickly. More holes than anything else, so it really goes fast!

Here is the pattern.

Weekend Plans: Happy Weekend

I was already up in the mountains today. It was lovely. I’m guessing there’ll be plenty of football on the schedule over the next few days—sport, so to speak :-)

Plastic handle or wooden handle / bamboo handle?

Honestly, I don’t really care. For durability’s sake, I mainly use metal needles—my wooden and bamboo ones have broken on me every now and then. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like them.

So, the ends are woven in, everything is blocked and laid out for blocking, so there should be pictures soon.

Download Playful Designs: Tassels, Fringe, Romantic, Feminine, Ruffles, Lace, and Pastel Shades

It may be summer, but when you look out the window, you get the feeling that the next winter will come again this year, too. Hopefully it will still take a little while, but in the meantime you can start getting ready.
How about an opulent crocheted scarf with lots and lots of fringe? The pattern is definitely suitable for beginners; you should know how to make chain stitches and double crochets. And it looks so extravagant!

Here’s the pattern.

(If you use thinner yarn than specified in the pattern, you can also wear the scarf as a playful summer accessory.)

Yellow and Orange: Craft a Summer Sun Until the Real Sun Turns Pale with Envy :-)

Inspired by Caribbean sunsets (or rather, how I imagine them), I created this knitted bag—you can find the pattern in my shop. The bag is knitted from thick cotton yarn—you’ll need two different colors. A simple slipped-stitch pattern creates a great effect.

You can find the pattern here.

Yarn cakes and gradient yarn: wonderful June patterns

The color gradients in this knitted stole also come through very well thanks to the large-scale brioche pattern. This pattern isn’t rocket science — a tutorial explains how it works.

Yarn cakes and gradient yarn: wonderful June patterns

This knitted stole with an interesting lace pattern is a wonderful design for gradient yarn. I used cotton yarn for my original, but you can also knit this pattern with many other types of yarn. It’s also very easy to adjust the length and width - for a scarf or an even wider shawl. The pattern is written out row by row and also presented in a knitting chart.

You can find the pattern here.

How are you all doing?

Monika, do you also use vegan yarn, or is your dietary choice more because animal products don’t agree with you?
There was a series of documentaries on TV recently about how our food is produced. When I saw some of those meat producers, I thought to myself, “Actually, I don’t want to use my money to support that at all”—which is exactly what I’m doing every time I shop. Especially since the farmers see the very least of all that money, and most of it just makes a few big industrialists rich.

You can knit these potholders in all the colors of the rainbow. All you need is a little cotton yarn (preferably the thicker kind) and knitting needles. The pattern is simple — you just need to know how to knit and purl.

Colorful: Bright Colors and Neon Colors

Bright, bold colors awaken the senses. This way, you can bring color into everyday life even with an airy crocheted scarf and turn heads. An easy pattern, two skeins of sock yarn, and you’re ready to get started. The pattern is a simple mesh pattern, and a tutorial explains how to make the cables.

You can find the pattern here.

Too warm or just warm enough for crafts?

Quick update: it’s like the end of the world here now—there’s a storm and it’s hailing. Very exciting!
