It’s pleasantly cool here—just right for working. I’m torn. Should I study or crochet? Since I have a test tomorrow, I should study, but my crochet supplies are calling to me so much. Maybe I can somehow combine crocheting and studying... I’d much rather crochet than study. Studying is just so boring and dull.
We’re having great summer weather here (just the way I like it)—not muggy yet and not too hot. It also cools down nicely at night, which is refreshing.
Right now, I only crochet in the evenings, because in this weather my hands always get sweaty, and I really don’t like that when I’m crafting.
Right now we have plenty of sunshine and it’s 31 degrees in the shade. I spent most of this morning outside; now I have to practice French with my daughter, and maybe I’ll start something new later. I still have some lovely silk-blend yarn that doesn’t feel too warm on my hands.
I’m still at work—and my hair is practically dripping with sweat here; it’s hot and humid in Solingen—but if I’m still up to anything when I get home around 7:30 p.m....then I’ll keep crocheting on my new project.
Funny enough, before CP I didn’t do much crocheting—I did a lot of knitting. But for the past six months or so, I’ve been crocheting more. And I’ve noticed that crocheting is somehow more pleasant in this kind of weather.
So, for now I’d better get back to work here.
It’s sunny and hot here, too. But that doesn’t stop me from crocheting or knitting. Right now, I’m in the design phase of a new project and am knitting a larger piece for it with different patterns and color combinations. I like to do this in the morning, when my mind is still clear and the garden is at a pleasant temperature.
I feel much the same way as Caro. Ever since CP, I’ve been crocheting a lot more, and I’m amazed at the ideas I come up with. Crocheting is much more pleasant in the heat. I save knitting for the evening while watching movies. It works better then.
It was 31 degrees again here today. Since I had the day off, I was able to sit out on the patio this morning—it was nice and shady and comfortable—so I kept crocheting on my shawl.
As soon as the sun comes around and it gets unbearably hot, I move my crocheting indoors. I actually make the most of every free minute. I have to take short breaks, otherwise my fingers get tired—during those breaks, I like to do puzzles.
I’ve also noticed that since I joined CP and found lots of pretty patterns and inspiration, I’ve been crocheting more often than before.
I’m another member of the club: I, too, have been crocheting a lot more since I discovered CP! For quite a while, I mainly knitted and embroidered—and thanks to CP and some lovely books, I’ve even started sewing little things again!
This morning it was nice and cool thanks to the rain, so I crocheted a few double crochets on my comfort blanket; in the afternoon, the sun really cranked up the heat and it got really muggy, but luckily after dinner it was comfortable enough to crochet again.
Come to think of it, I actually feel the same way as you do. I did a lot of crocheting at the very beginning—that’s when my projects were finished faster. Then I spent years just knitting. For the past few years, I’ve actually been crocheting more again. There are also so many great crochet designs and patterns now.
I’m going to try to keep crocheting in the garden today. If the promised rain comes, I’ll just continue inside.
A thunderstorm is rolling in right now, and the heat is slowly letting up a bit. But honestly, I can do crafts at any temperature. I prefer it to be comfortably warm (not too hot and not too cold) outdoors.
