I’m not tied to any particular type anymore and get along great with almost any handle :)

If I have a choice, I go for the wooden handle. But I can work with all materials.

Wood, bamboo, or plastic—I can work with any of them, but I prefer wood and bamboo.
What I really don’t like anymore is cold metal.

Honestly, I don’t really care. For durability’s sake, I mainly use metal needles—my wooden and bamboo ones have broken on me every now and then. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like them.

For crochet hooks, I like metal ones with soft grips, and for knitting needles, I prefer wood.
