How are you today?

Easter was great! Knitting in the garden—what a joy—and in the most beautiful sunshine.
I’ve started a new summer top for myself and will take it with me on my trip on Thursday. I’ll get a lot done on it there.

Sandra, I think it looks great the way you’ve crocheted it now. Colorful cuffs on the sleeves will definitely look nice.

Whether your husband likes it or not—the main thing is that you like it and feel comfortable wearing it. ;-)

Relax and unwind before Easter: Use up Easter yarn

Cotton doll clothes are always a hit, especially when they’re knitted by Mom or Grandma herself. This is a great way to use up leftover yarn, for example a leftover ball. The pants can be knitted in any color you like, or even in stripes.

The pattern includes two different versions. My shop also offers patterns for a matching sweater or a little jacket.

If you’ve knitted in the round before, this is a breeze. The pants fit dolls measuring 40–50 cm, including Baby Born.

Relax and unwind before Easter: Use up Easter yarn

A cute sleeping bag for dolls, teddy bears measuring 40-50 cm, or small newborns - there are always grateful and delighted recipients for one like this.

This one is very easy to knit using the pattern. Some knitting experience and basic skills are required.

The sleeping bag can be knitted from wool, cotton, or a blended yarn. Using thinner yarn will make it slightly smaller, so it’ll also fit smaller dolls.

Wow, I’d barely finished writing and searching for the photo when so much had already happened here again. You’ve created some amazing things, Claudia!

I think your doll already looks male, even a little serious (typically masculine). The hair looks cool. I think the mouth is fine as it is. And whether I could have managed the eyes like that ... I don’t know.

Well, I’m sure you’ll find the perfect solution with Ruth’s help. Your little bunny turned out cute, too.

Yes, Ruth, that’s just how it is—crocheting and knitting each have their own advantages. But I don’t find the fuzzy yarn suitable for knitting either.

Here’s a photo of the shawl I’m currently knitting. It’s taking shape as I go along, once again.

How are you all doing?

The weather is fantastic—spring is finally here after what felt like an endless string of winter days.
Now it’s time to get back to the garden and the balcony.

After Easter, we’ll be taking our first road trip of the year in the RV. I’m already getting my knitting supplies ready for the trip.

Well, and today it’s time for spring cleaning and tidying up. We’re making room for new things (no, not for yarn this time). ;-)

Yes, Marion, that donkey is truly adorable—so cute! :) I wouldn’t have wanted to knit it with that fuzzy yarn … that’s no fun. But the result looks great.

Ruth, you’re incredibly productive—great job! Your Kasperle puppets look very professional and absolutely fantastic.

I’m knitting away at my shawl—it’s so nice and easy to do while watching movies. I’ll probably crochet a round placemat too, which is supposed to be finished by Easter. There will also be some matching sets to go with it. Maybe I’ll manage that by Easter too. Then my “Spring Meadow” would be complete with 3 sets.

As you can see, I’ve got several projects on the go again … Photos will follow in the next few days.

I’m knitting a triangular shawl for myself, and in between I’ve let the little cardigan for my little one rest for a while. The shawl is really perfect for knitting in between. I’ll show it to you all in the next few days when it’s grown a bit.

Problems with the crochet pattern

You normally work 1 sc into each stitch. In this case, you simply insert the hook there again and then work 2 sc into one stitch.

It’s best to Google some videos that show you these basic steps. We all had to start somewhere before we got good at it. You can do it, too. :)

Best wishes, Monika

Problems with the crochet pattern

Hi,
I think you’ve made too many increases, which is why the circle is wavy.

You work one single crochet in each of the next two stitches, just as usual.
That makes 2 single crochets.

Then you work 2 single crochets in ONE stitch (increase)

And then again, one single crochet in each of the next two stitches.

So you alternate between 2 sc as usual and one increase (2 sc in 1 stitch).

At least, that’s how I’d understand it. Give it a try.

Best regards, Monika

UFOs: How many do you have right now?

Oh dear, I used to have a whole bunch of UFOs, and they’d probably still be floating around if… well, if it weren’t for the monthly threads here that motivate me to finally bring those UFOs in for a landing.

That’s why—oh, miracle of miracles—I don’t have any left right now.

However, I’ve just started a slightly larger project—a shawl—that I definitely won’t be able to finish in a month.

How did you discover Crazypatterns? Why have you stayed?

At the end of 2016, I was searching online for patterns for baby clothes, which is when I started knitting again after more than 25 years.

What I found was pretty disappointing—until I came here. What I especially liked was that the patterns are written in such detail and supplemented with pictures.

And then, after just a short time, I felt inspired to design my own patterns. It’s since become my favorite creative hobby. The whole family—and even the dolls and teddy bears—are now dressed in hand-knitted clothes from head to toe. I can’t even imagine life without knitting needles and yarn anymore.

I’m very happy to be here. And I really enjoy the interaction here, even though I don’t usually like to post actively in forums.

The opportunities offered here and the straightforward process have convinced me to stay. Especially since I’ve already made some really great connections here.

Best regards, Monika

Woolly Wednesday: Who has bought yarn, Bobbel, or novelty yarn? Who’s working on the “Shopping Queen” challenge or sticking to the “Yarn Diet”?

That’s funny, Petra. With yarn, at least we can look forward to the extra pounds. ;-)

I’ve been on the “yarn diet” since November and plan to stick with it for a while longer. My stash is more than enough—the selection is almost as big as in a store. I stocked up on a wide range of colors before starting the diet. Now it’s time to work through it. :)
