April Projects: Part 2.

Dear users, dear authors,
Since Part 1 ended up being very long, I’m starting Part 2 here.
Keep having fun.

UFO Week is April 23–30. (= Finish unfinished projects / crafts and receive positive feedback from me in return. ) If this conflicts with the Easter break or the “Labor Day” holiday on May 1, we can renegotiate if necessary. The awards ceremony will then take place around May 2 or 3.

Petra: When I walk around wearing it in the summer—no matter what color—my husband complains :-))))

He thinks it’s awful.

Sandra, I think it looks great the way you’ve crocheted it now. Colorful cuffs on the sleeves will definitely look nice.

Whether your husband likes it or not—the main thing is that you like it and feel comfortable wearing it. ;-)

Exactly, and he won’t be at the Schlagermove anyway

Well, that’s good then—at least he won’t have to get upset :-)

I started two new shawls this week; I’ll show you two absolutely terrible photos.

The blue one is a “mystery” project—a few rows are released each week. So I have absolutely no idea what it’ll look like yet. And while I’m waiting for the next part of the pattern, I just started another shawl.

Sandra, I think your top fits the ’70s theme perfectly—I also think the trumpet sleeves go well with it. Have fun wearing it at the big party!

I finished a few more nests made from leftover yarn; I’ll be giving them away tomorrow.

I also sowed some cress in empty eggshells and arranged them in an egg carton—I’ll put them on the breakfast table tomorrow. Then, hopefully, the cress will be ready to harvest....

I wish you all a wonderful and relaxing Easter holiday.

Ida, that mystery shawl sounds exciting! You’ll have to show it to us when it’s finished.
I just finished embroidering the little flag for the Easter lamb. We’ll have it tomorrow at brunch.

Ruthk, your little flag is beautiful. I’ll have to remember that.

The Easter baskets turned out so cute. A lovely surprise.

Wishing everyone a wonderful, relaxing Easter

Our Easter bunnies seem to have already finished their work.

The nests are so cute!
And Ruth, huge compliments on your embroidery—I assume you embroidered all of that yourself, not just the little flag. The mystery shawl will take a little while longer; there are two more parts of the pattern to come, and I probably won’t get much knitting done next week because I’m having guests over.

Yes, I embroidered that doily too, but it was a few years ago.

My tablecloth is on hold for now.

In the meantime, I’ve started working on this triangular shawl:

My goodness, you’re all so hard at work—wow!
Ida, your shawls are like a surprise egg—so exciting!
Claudia, your Easter baskets—absolutely adorable. And I especially love the idea of putting cress in the eggshells. I’ll keep that in mind.
Ruth, your embroidery is a work of art and was surely a hit this Easter.
Petra, your two bunnies are so cute! Hopefully they won’t get eaten at some point...
Marlene, I like the pattern on your triangle shawl.

Josefa, I don’t have any UFOs this month, buuuut... things will probably look different in the coming months. The thing is, I’m not in the mood for two projects right now—and I’ve started a third—a summer top for myself. I spent a long time trying out different patterns and finally found one I like. It just came together while I was testing it out. And now I’ve already finished a few rows. Of course, I’m using up my leftover yarn here. This is what the top looks like now—all knitted over Easter:

And of course, I finished crocheting the new set of 2 coasters (made from leftover yarn) by Easter. Here’s what it looks like now—the second photo shows it alongside the other “Spring Meadow” sets.

On Thursday, we’re setting off on our first RV trip. I’ll be continuing to knit my top then.

Thanks, Moni :)

I’m thinking of knitting on a smaller diamond pattern at the side as a finishing touch.

I really like your coasters.

I also think the other projects from all of you are great.

Monika, you’ve been just as hard at work! It’s amazing how much you’ve managed to get done in the meantime! Your yarn stash must be melting away...

Thanks, everyone!
Yeah, my yarn stash is shrinking—but not really. When I see what I still have ahead of me…
And then I’m also planning to visit someone at a yarn shop in Bernau this month, so I don’t know how strong I really am with my yarn diet.

We’ll see…

In any case, my airy top is coming along nicely and already looks really great. So my experiment with the pattern was a success. :)

Since we’re heading out on a weekend trip tomorrow, I don’t have any more time today—there’s still quite a bit to pack. But I’ll definitely check in from time to time. And I’ll try to upload a photo of the top tonight, too. Let’s see how you like it now.

Have a wonderful summer day, everyone!

So, just so I don’t forget—this is what my summer top looks like now. As you can see, it’s already grown.

Your triangular shawl has a very pretty pattern, Marlene!
And Monika, you’ve been hard at work again. I can’t wait to see the summer top!

I’m so happy—and proud at the same time—that I finally managed to finish my bunny UFO after all. Actually, I really didn’t feel like it, especially since I wanted to start something new again. Thanks to you all, I thought to myself, “No, you have to finish this first.” On top of that, I managed to overcome my own inner slacker.

Now Hasi is finished. Unfortunately, he had to hop through Easter without legs. But the outlook is good for next year. He’s finally “alive.”

Here are the pictures

Many thanks for your kind words. It feels good to have finished something again, thanks to you

But I’m not sure whether I’m allowed to show my bunny in the gallery, or do I have to wait until after the awards ceremony?

Once again, you’re all showing such great stuff here.
I especially like your bunny, Baselfan. It looks like it hopped right out of a children’s book...

I’ve decorated another paintbrush... this time, Ms. Brush Head got some crocheted accessories.

It’s soooo much fun to just let your creativity run wild.

Of course, I’m also working hard on a crochet project, though I’m currently lacking a few ideas… it’s more of a back-and-forth between crocheting and unraveling. I’m still waiting for that spark of inspiration.

Over the holidays, we visited my in-laws—since they don’t live right around the corner, it’s always like a little vacation. Here we were on our way to the Easter bonfire; you can see the Brocken in the background. The weather was just amazing...

I also managed to finish a new felt bag… once again, it was a mix of high hopes and nervous anticipation before washing it…

But the result has actually never disappointed me.

With this really big bag, I’m now well-equipped for trips to the beach or the outdoor pool.

Fun-Design, your paintbrush is really great. I’ve never seen anything like it.

I’m painting objects and furniture with chalk paint again

And my embroidered picture has been framed

Otherwise, I’m still working on my baby blanket, but it’ll be done soon. Now another baby is on the way in my children’s circle of friends. So things won’t get boring.

Your projects turned out really great.

My top for the Schlagermove is finished.
I really like the idea of using granny squares on the sleeves.

Next up is a matching orange bag.

You’ve all finished such great things again.

Arni, your Schlagermove top turned out so great. I think the mesh sleeves with that granny edging are a perfect match. I like it, and I’d even wear it myself.

Fun-Design, your decorated paintbrush looks really cool. Is that painted on? It looks so three-dimensional—great. A real eye-catcher. The photo, too.

Thanks for the kind words. I first covered the brush with modeling clay and then painted it, Bastelfan.
Right now, I’m still waiting for the base so it can stand on its own—I poured it from concrete, and it still needs a while to cure properly. That always takes a looooot of patience...

The granny top turned out really well; you’re sure to be a hit at the Schlagermove with that.

Hi, everyone, I’m back in the country too.

It’s enough to make you green with envy seeing everything you’ve managed to finish already.

Huge kudos to everyone—each piece is more beautiful than the last.

We spent a few days traveling up north, and I didn’t have time to knit or crochet. But we got to see Hamburg and the Altes Land—it was simply wonderful. We also had great weather; back home, it wasn’t quite as nice.

Sandra, your top turned out great.

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday.

Wowww... how awesome is that!! You’ve all been super hard at work and have created such amazing things. I’m really impressed.

Claudia, your paintbrush looks really funny—a great idea! And I think your beach bag is awesome, too.

Petra, your pieces turned out great as well. Painting with chalk paint—that’s the first time I’ve heard of that. Sounds interesting.

Sandra, your top for the Schlagermove looks fantastic. You’re going to rock the whole hall in that. :)
You’ve got real designer skills.

Marlene, your shawl looks great, too. Something completely different for a change...

Unfortunately, I didn’t get any knitting done at all over the weekend—not even during the drive. But I did have an awesome weekend at a seminar. Now I’ll have more time to knit again, because I definitely want to finish my top now that the weather is getting nice and warm.
