Have a great weekend, everyone!

Thanks, Josefa—I wish the same for you, and for everyone else here as well.

We don’t have any plans. I’m on sick leave because of my hand anyway, but we can go for walks. Just relax and take it easy.
Since I can’t do any crafts right now, it’s a bit boring, and I have to figure out what else I can do with my left hand.
For example, finishing the diamond painting for my mom—it’s almost done.

Hugs from me

What are you cooking today? Part 2

That all sounds delicious.

We just had a light meal: toast topped with cheese and pineapple. It’s warm, easy to make, and still filling.
Every now and then we have a kebab, or sometimes a stew. It depends.

I could make stuffed bell peppers again sometime.

Things are getting colorful here

Thank you, Petra.
I got some pills. Things are slowly getting better. I can move it gently, but I can’t overdo it.

It’s kind of funny. The yarn next to me is smiling at me—I’d have soooo much time, but oh well.
I’ll be fine.

Parachute Pants

I’m not really familiar with all that. It doesn’t mean anything to me right now.
I wear whatever I like and whatever makes me feel comfortable. I don’t have to follow every fashion trend.
Back then, I used to love wearing that poplin fabric. It was lightweight, but it also wrinkled easily. That meant ironing all the time.
How fashion sure does change

Hello to all you hard-working yarn lovers!

Wishing everyone a lovely evening

I have to take a forced break, though. The joint capsule in my right hand has become inflamed. You know what that means☹
But at least I can take my time admiring your creations here.

Hugs, Andrea

All Saints' Day 2022

Thank you, Josefa.
Yesterday was a holiday here, and I had to work, but today and tomorrow I’m enjoying my time off to the fullest. Actually, I could use another vacation already—I’m so exhausted.

Today I’m going for a walk with my mom, and afterward we’ll stop by Café “Martha” for a cappuccino and a huge slice of cake.

It’s very foggy and wet here today. That means it’s time for some crafts.

Have a lovely weekend + don’t forget the time change from Saturday to Sunday

Thanks, Josefa—I didn’t forget. Getting to sleep an extra hour is very convenient for me, since I always have to get up around 4:00 a.m.

Of course, I’m taking full advantage of the lovely, sunny fall weather after work.
Yesterday we even had coffee on the balcony in the sunshine, and I did some crafting (diamond painting).

Today, Saturday, we were invited to my cousin’s birthday party, and
tomorrow, Sunday, I’ll probably go to afternoon dance class again.

Then things will settle down a bit—I need that too.

Stay healthy, everyone!

That’s great, Monika, that you’re feeling better again and that you’re already sharing something so lovely with us.😉
Your soul warmer looks absolutely gorgeous. I’m not usually a fan of dark colors, but your striped combination looks totally awesome. I’d love to snuggle up in that, too.

Petra, the pattern on your loop looks really interesting.

Wishing everyone a wonderful long weekend

Artificial Christmas tree: a good alternative to a real Christmas tree?

Just like Inge, we also had a small artificial tree in a pot, which I placed inside an artificial Christmas wreath and decorated.
We just don’t have enough space for a big tree.
Maybe this year I won’t put up a tree at all, but instead use lighted rods with decorations in a large floor vase.

Dollhouse from my great-grandpa :)

Wow, your treasures are priceless. Owning something this amazing is truly remarkable. Keep cherishing it. Furniture crafted with such love has personal value, too, and serves as a memento of the person who built it.

It’s a shame I no longer have the dollhouse my dad built for me. It even had real lighting, just like Veronika said. Those big flat batteries with the metal ends were connected to wires, and you had light. The wooden furniture was store-bought—I liked it better than plastic furniture.

I’d still be playing with dollhouses today. I guess we just never really grow up.

Have a great weekend: How are things going for you?

Thank you—I wish the same for everyone else, too.

Of course, I’m planning to sleep in; I have the weekend off, so I’ll enjoy a leisurely breakfast with no rush, and do some crafts that I feel like doing (I also have a crochet order coming up for a coworker for St. Nicholas Day).
On Sunday, there’s an Oktoberfest dance. We’ll see if I go with my parents. Relaxation is, of course, important to me too with my stressful job, since a lot of people are sick right now, and there have been new COVID-19 cases at the nursing home again. We need to be careful.

I hope you’re all still healthy, and to those who’ve been affected, I wish you a speedy recovery.
Stay just the way you are, because that’s what makes our community here on the CP Forum so special.

Lots of love from me

@Veronika, that looks totally delicious and relaxing—just the way it should be 👍🧶☕

Birthday gift

My children really picked out something special for me.👏 That really makes the heart of a mom of two beat much faster. I'm so happy.💛 And that they can be at my place in no time when they come to visit.

Monika, the book has crochet patterns for the plastic surprise eggs. But it's designed so that you can't read the patterns yet. The pages are perforated. So from 1 to 24, there is one pattern each. That makes the wait until Christmas shorter. One for each day.
You can tear apart the perforated pages, and presto, you have the pattern.

So you all still have to be a little patient.  🧶⏲ and unfortunately so do I 😄

I just discovered this here, too. Great idea. Brilliant

LCreativ, yes, that’s right, it works, but as soon as you go to the second page and try to click the “Move to folder” button there, it jumps back to the first page.

Or do you have to create new folders for each page?

Bastelfan's Birthday // Free Patterns as a Gift

@everyone: A big thank you to all of you for the lovely birthday wishes and beautiful floral gifts. I really appreciated them.
The sunset is, of course, gorgeous, and your delicious apples provide a little vitamin boost. :-)

I had a wonderful day with my family and the kids, who came all the way just to celebrate their mom’s birthday.

The six of us had a lovely meal at a Greek restaurant, enjoyed some coffee, and of course had fruit cake with whipped cream back at our place. We had a cozy get-together until the evening, since my younger son had to go back to work today, just like me. My older son also went home after we had coffee. Now things have quieted down again, and I can get back to my crocheting hobby.

Of course, there were gifts, too. I’ll post a photo of them when I get the chance. And of course, there’s a crochet book in there—it was on my wish list.

Warm regards, Andrea

Getting Married in White / No White for Guests?

For a “green” wedding, I actually think it’s nice to get married in white.

At my first wedding, I didn’t even have a wedding dress. It was more like a skirt with a matching top (the fabric was thin and white with silver threads woven in), and the ruffled collar could be removed. I’d never want to wear that again today. I got rid of it at some point.

For my second wedding, I picked out a long, cream-champagne-colored dress. I was alone in the bridal shop in Norway, where I chose and bought my own wedding dress (it was on sale), and then took the train home wearing it—of course, everyone was staring. It was kind of weird, but I was happy.

It even had little rhinestones glued or sewn on, sheer elastic lace at the back, and a softly draping flounce. I also got a thin shawl made of the same fabric for free. Great. They even had an in-house alteration service, which I used. The nice man altered it beautifully—it was too long. I also had to go for a fitting—they even had shoes there because of the dress length.

My husband really hadn’t seen the dress until the wedding. I’m superstitious about that.
And I managed it all in Norwegian. I was so proud of myself. I still have that dress. If I have it shortened, I can still wear it for special occasions.
That dress somehow brought me luck.

Have a great weekend, everyone

Oh dear, well then, I hope you both feel better soon and make a speedy recovery. I hope you aren’t
suffering too much. The best thing is to get lots and lots of sleep—that helped me, too.

To everyone else, I wish you a relaxing weekend.
It’s supposed to get warmer here again. Unfortunately, I have to work, but then my
kids are coming to visit me, and I’m really looking forward to that.

Good evening, it’s late—

finally off work. I’m tired and worn out.

Exactly, Steffi— I meant the hippo. So cute. No rush—I still have plenty to finish up. All those UFOs *grrrr*

Oh, Petra, that sounds so exciting—but it’s nice when kids and grandkids like knitted items and take good care of them so nothing happens to them. So cute.

Sleep well

Good morning, everyone,

Hey Ines, that already looks promising. Best of luck with it.
Tell me, what’s that cute hippo in the background? Where can I find it? Is the pattern from here? It’s just the right size for me to crochet.

See, Anja, everything turned out fine after all.

What are you cooking today?

We went to dance class again today and had lunch there right away.
Of course, schnitzel with fresh mushrooms and fries, with a side of green beans. Delicious.
My husband had his favorite currywurst with fries.
At least I didn’t have to cook for once.

Thank you all so much, my dears.
The colorful autumn trees inspired me to make these coasters. Yes, I also wanted to bring a little bit of that summer feeling into my home. They’re already in use when we occasionally sit out on the balcony to enjoy the last rays of sunshine.

Geez, Anja , that’s so frustrating. It seems like you’re just having a rough patch. That’s right—put everything aside for now, take a deep breath, and sleep on it, then try again. Have you written to the author yet? Maybe it was just a typo after all.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone—

I’m off dancing again today :-)

Fall is beautiful

Such wonderful pictures, where you’ve captured fall in all its facets. Thanks for sharing.

Monika, your garden is wonderfully colorful. I like that.
Veronika, what a beautiful view you have. Fall right outside your door.
Inge, you took great shots during your fall outing. I love all the colors.
Petra, your crocheted pumpkins are a real eye-catcher. Halloween can come now.
johannsi, your fall cards turned out so pretty. I’ve done embroidered cards like that before too; unfortunately, I don’t have time to do everything.

I love fall with all its bright colors. Time to collect leaves.
Somewhere in a book I still have pressed fall leaves from Norway.

Yarn Swap Package No. 4/2022 Is on Its Way, Part 3.

The pink slippers look really cute. What a great idea from Mel to give them to a resident. That elderly lady is going to be so happy.
I work in a nursing home myself, so I know how grateful older people are—you really empathize with them and feel happy to have done something good, because they simply deserve it.

So this swap event also served a good cause. Great!

Have a great weekend: do you have sunshine?

Thank you so much, Josefa—I wish the same for everyone else here.

A sunny, mild fall like this is wonderful. The weather here is just like Inge’s. It’s very cold in the morning, and by the end of the day you’re sweating.
In the afternoons, we can still sit on the balcony, drink coffee, and enjoy the sun until it disappears behind one of the trees later on—then it gets chilly.
The laundry dries too. What more could you want?

Best wishes, Andrea :-)
