Thank you, Josefa.
Yesterday was a holiday here, and I had to work, but today and tomorrow I’m enjoying my time off to the fullest. Actually, I could use another vacation already—I’m so exhausted.
Today I’m going for a walk with my mom, and afterward we’ll stop by Café “Martha” for a cappuccino and a huge slice of cake.
It’s very foggy and wet here today. That means it’s time for some crafts.
Thanks, Josefa, I wish the same for you and everyone who has a public holiday or the day off today, too.
I’m going to take a walk today and then crochet. It’ll be a peaceful, cozy day.
Best regards
Marina
Thanks, Josefa.
Yes, here in Austria (and where else?) today is All Saints’ Day, when we remember the deceased.
Tomorrow is All Souls’ Day—it’s kind of a sad time of year, and here it’s foggy and damp outside, too.
Halloween—we didn’t have anything like that when I was growing up, so we don’t celebrate it at all.
We’re making ourselves comfortable today and enjoying the day off—after visiting the cemetery to pay our respects to the deceased, of course.
I wish you all a peaceful All Saints’ Day.
Thank you, I hope so too.
Here, the golden autumn just doesn’t want to end—the sun is shining from a bright blue sky, and it didn’t get any colder than 17 degrees last night—unbelievable!
Although today is a holiday for us, the physical therapist is still working, so later on I’ll be going for a guided walk with my husband—you’ve got to make the most of this great weather!
Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday. We in the north had our holiday yesterday, and I’m about to head off to the late shift. It’s really funny how different the holidays are across the federal states. Best regards, Kerstin
Thank you, Josefa. I also wish everyone here on the forum a wonderful holiday.
Here in Bavaria, All Saints’ Day is also a holiday, and schoolchildren are currently on an 8-day fall break.
Since four cantons meet in our region, we (Reformed Berners) always see an increase in motorized visitors from Catholic areas on Catholic holidays. On the last Sunday of the church year in late November, we commemorate the deceased with special services and a festival of lights at the cemetery (a burning candle in front of every grave). Every year, I look forward to helping distribute them. It’s always very solemn and looks absolutely beautiful.
