Romantic Horse-Drawn Sleigh Ride in Powder Snow

Dear users, dear authors,
how about a little outing to forget the stress of Advent / before Christmas? The horses are harnessed, the sleighs are ready. There are actually a few reindeer along as draft animals. We have snow, too. Dress warmly; it could get cold. The unicorns didn't want to come along; it wasn't sunny enough for them.
What else do we need for it?
Come up with something. :-)

@Authors,
2-3 patterns per author are enough. Don’t forget the link and image, as well as the usual info.

Most importantly, of course, you need snow! The little snowflakes are already up in the clouds, waiting impatiently for things to finally get started.

Crochet these cute little winter children—it’s quick and not hard at all! All you need is some white fluffy yarn (as thin as possible—e.g., Doudou by Lang Yarns), white and skin-tone cotton yarn, silver glitter yarn, and doll’s wool or mohair yarn for the hair, as well as stuffing. Chenille wire makes the arms and legs movable, so you can display the little snowflakes in different positions.
This makes for a lovely winter decoration that you can keep using even after Christmas.

Until we set off—or if the draft animals need a little break—we can build a wonderful snowman in the snow! This one is especially cold because he’s crocheting (knitting) his own warm scarf. Maybe he’ll knit one for us, too, once he’s finished with it? Good thing he has some sweet treats for us in his jar. That way, we won’t go hungry and can even snack on the marzipan potatoes.

The snowman is easy to crochet. If you like to knit, you can also knit the hat and scarf. The lid fits perfectly on a jam jar, but can also be adjusted to other sizes. The snowman is crocheted from Catania cotton, and the hat and scarf are made from colorful sock yarn. A great, quick project for using up leftover yarn!

Crochet Pattern XL Horse

This horse will definitely manage to pull the sleigh through the snow. A second one would still be best, of course. But that should be no problem.

My horse, and perhaps soon yours too, is not crocheted in the “usual” amigurumi technique. What I mean by that is that it is not crocheted in rounds.
I crocheted this horse mainly in rows. It consists of several individual pieces and is then sewn together at the end.

In a 14-page PDF file, I have explained everything step by step. There are also photos for each step to make it easier to understand. This horse is very decorative. I think horse lovers, whether big or small, will be very happy with a horse like this. Little girls can let their dolls ride on it. The horse will be approx. 35 cm tall and 32 cm long. So it’s a nice big playmate.

NOT suitable for beginners
But if you are still looking for a challenge, I will be very happy to help you.

Materials
  • Cotton Quick by Gründl approx. 300 g (silver gray 070)
  • Catania approx. 20 g (black)
  • Crochet hooks 4.0 and 2.5
  • Stuffing at least 200 g
  • Safety eyes 10 mm
  • Sewing needle
  • Scissors
What you should know how to do
  • Chain stitches
  • Single crochet stitches
  • Crochet in rows
  • Increasing and decreasing
  • Sewing together

Thick hats are definitely practical on the carriage ;-)
And... it can be knitted up in one evening, meaning it also works really well as a “last-minute” project ;-)

A detailed description guides you through the pattern.

The pattern is designed for a head circumference of about 50-53 cm.
However, it is simple to make it larger or smaller as needed.
Gauge is listed as always—for any adaptations!

And here’s the pattern and more details...

... and you need a large bag for the mulled wine and the snack:

Dreamily beautiful, this classic with plenty of room for your sleigh outing.

A combination of tapestry technique and double stitch (both explained in detail).

Required prior knowledge: chain stitch, slip stitch, single crochet

... and of course a nice warm poncho to snuggle into is a must:

Thanks to two cleverly placed buttons, this poncho is a true quick-change artist. Since the buttons fit through the lace pattern, there is no need to work in buttonholes - so the
buttons can be fastened anywhere you like - creating many different ways to wear it!

A stylish, warm hat is of course also perfect for sleigh rides:

Knitting pattern: hat for all sizes - ideal for beginners too

This hat is quick and very easy to knit – well suited for beginners, since there are no increases or decreases to knit. A matching scarf in the same style perfects the outfit.

The pattern is detailed and illustrated for all stitches used, and is written for the material listed below for a head circumference from 50 cm to 60 cm. It also explains how to recalculate a gauge, so that it can also be knitted with other yarn weights and in all sizes .

Material:
200 g merino yarn, Schulana Capo Nord used here, 100% merino, 100 g – 90 m yardage, needle size 7 – 9, size 8.0 knitting needles used here.

Note: Mohair yarns are not recommended for beginners, as they snag and can hardly be unraveled again, so they do not forgive mistakes. Otherwise, you can use pretty much any yarn with the appropriate needle size.

Go to the pattern here (click me).

In any case, you should bundle up for a sleigh ride. There’s snow all around, the wind is whistling past your ears—so of course you’ll need a warm hat. Perfect for winter, I have one with a winter landscape knitted into it. That’s stylish, isn’t it?

A warm infinity scarf around your neck isn't a bad idea on a sleigh ride either. Knitted in soft merino wool, it's wonderfully cozy and soft and is guaranteed to keep the cold out. After all, you want to enjoy the sleigh ride and not shiver from the cold.

You can find the pattern here.

Don't forget warm socks in your shoes, either. If you sit for a long time, your toes get cold quickly. But you can easily knit them yourself.

How about this?
