Isn’t Barbie an enchanting mermaid? The fishtail is crocheted from cotton in shades of green or blue using a shell pattern. For the top and hair accessories, a small scrap of pink or pastel-colored yarn is all you need. The pattern is also suitable for crochet beginners.

Fall is fast approaching, and with it comes the annual St. Martin’s Day parade. To make sure your child is right on trend and can proudly carry their homemade owl lantern , you should start crafting as soon as possible.

Measuring approximately 25 x 26 x 10 cm, the lantern is nice and compact and comfortable for even small children to carry. It’s made from cardstock and translucent paper. Your child can help you cut out the translucent paper and the cardstock circles, actively participating in the crafting process.

Potholder Hedwig the Owl

Every beginning is hard—everyone probably knows that saying.
95% of crochet beginners start with a potholder to practice the stitches they’ve learned... In most cases it’s a pretty square, and those who are brave try using different colors too.
But does it always have to be this square potholder ... that usually disappears into some forgotten corner?

Some time ago, one of my course participants asked me this question... and what can I say.... I thought about it briefly and told her..."No".

And that’s how Hedwig came to be... A potholder that won’t disappear into a forgotten corner—practical, decorative, and even suitable as a gift. A beginner project you can make an impression with.

The material needed is minimal, so even small amounts of leftover yarn are enough to bring Hedwig to life.

The detailed 13-page pattern shows you how. Every step is explained and illustrated with numerous step-by-step pictures. This way, you’ll quickly achieve a good result.

What you’ll need:
  • Leftover yarn of any type and color
  • Crochet hook 4.0

The best for last!
Hedwig is available here for free

Isn’t that a graceful bird? The flamingo is a wonderful decoration for anyone who loves pink. To keep it from tipping over on its thin, spindly legs, it’s secured to a round base. But you can also use it as a flower pick—in that case, you won’t need the base. It’s very easy to crochet. You’ll need pink and fuchsia leftover yarn, some wire, and stuffing.
You can find the pattern here!

Whether for a boy or a girl... these moccasins suit every baby!
And as so often: the button sets the trend!

Also a perfect project for using up leftover yarn. Finished in 1-2 hours!

The pattern is designed for a foot length of about 9 - 10 cm.
However, the included gauge makes it easy to make any size!

You will also find a table for baby and children's shoe sizes (incl. cm measurements) in the pattern.
In addition, the duplicate stitch is explained in detail and illustrated. (Owl)

And here is the pattern and more details...
