Community & Help
Dear Community,
we have some exciting news for you: Our forum now supports both languages.
Until now, the German and English communities were essentially separated in the forum—if you didn’t read the other language, you missed out on many posts. That’s no longer the case: Forum posts are automatically translated between German and English. English-speaking members will see your German posts in English, and you’ll see English posts in German.
What this means for you:
- Just keep posting in your own language—the rest of the community can read along and join the conversation.
- Every translated post includes a “Show Original” button, which lets you view the original text at any time.
- Your usernames, @mentions, and images will remain unchanged.
A word of honesty: The translation is machine-generated and isn’t perfect in every sentence—but it’s constantly improving. If a translation ever seems off to you, just check the original and feel free to let us know. We’re gradually processing older posts in the background, so it may take a few more days until everything is fully translated.
We hope this will bring the community a good deal closer together across language barriers.
Warm regards
Your Crazypatterns Team
That’s great! Thank you so much!
Hi Alexander,
that’s an interesting new feature that might bring more “international flair” to the forum.
You mentioned that we can report it if we notice anything. I had my post in this thread
https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/forum/topic/216217/neu-widerrufs-button-jetzt-fuer-alle-erreichbar
translated: for example, the machine translation here isn’t correct and distorts the original text.🤷♀️
Best regards, Anja
Which translation program is used for this?
Hi Anja,
thank you for pointing this out—we looked into it right away and compared the thread sentence by sentence in the original German and the English machine translation. You’re right, and we were able to pinpoint the exact spot.
We’ll use your case as a concrete example to specifically improve the translation, especially for passive constructions and similar wording about responsibility.
Were you referring specifically to this part: “…and it was checked whether the pattern had already been downloaded”—or did you notice another one? If so, we’ll look into that right away as well.
Thank you & best regards,
Alexander – Crazypatterns Team
Hi Alexander,
Yes, I was referring to the first paragraph with “their,” “they” (both plural), and “we”:
(...) If the customer wanted to cancel their purchase, they had contacted support, and it was checked whether the pattern had already been downloaded:(...)
is translated as:
(...) If a customer wanted to cancel their purchase, they would email support, and we would check whether the pattern had already been downloaded:(...)
Best regards, Anja
Hi Anja,
we’ll incorporate your feedback directly into our ongoing improvements. Thank you—and feel free to reach out anytime if you notice anything else!
Best regards
