New Crazypatterns design is live – test it now and tell us what you think!

Dear DIY community,

the new, modern design is now live. Test it until June 30, 2025 and share your feedback – together we’ll make Crazypatterns better.

What’s new?

  • Mobile-first layout – easier to use on smartphones and tablets.
  • Cleaner presentation – larger fonts, more white space, clearer typography, direct access to important features.
  • Fairer reviews – until a product has enough reviews, you’ll see the store review as a guide.
  • Product page – all important product information – whether free or paid – is clearly displayed. Just one click to add to cart or go straight to download.
  • Optimized community areas – forum threads and blog articles are easier to find and read.

A look behind the scenes
Some spacing still feels a bit “beta.” We’re continuing to fine-tune everything – your feedback helps set the priorities!

How to test the new design

  1. Open the link https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/switcher or click “Design Selection” at the very bottom of any page.
  2. Browse, filter, buy, and download patterns – or simply discover something new.
  3. Until June 30, 2025, you can switch back at any time; after that, the new design will become the default.

Your opinion matters!

The more specific your feedback, the faster we can make adjustments.

Best regards, and have fun exploring
Your Crazypatterns Team

Very, very nice! I think it turned out great!

I have two small suggestions.

I’m currently viewing it on mobile with a dark screen, and the search bar and the text in it are barely visible. I would maybe use the black and gray tones there, like elsewhere on the site. (Just like the meta info here on the page; it’s all the same very light shade of gray, as I just noticed.)

The second point concerns the product manager. But that was already the case before.

On desktop, you get all the metrics side by side. On mobile, they’re one below the other. That’s fine as far as it goes, but the column labels are so long that the full set of metrics doesn’t even fit on a full page or in a screenshot.

I’d like to see abbreviations like WL for wishlist, perhaps with a small “i” next to it that, when opened, explains what the first number stands for and what the second one stands for. That would save a huge amount of space. Although of course I’d say that this has no priority at all,  but I just wanted to explain it.

I found something else. On all forum overview pages where the individual posts are listed, the individual posts only open when you click on the title. Or rather, if you click on the number next to it, it jumps to the last comment instead of, as with the title, to the beginning of the post.

However, the posts on the overview page are visually separated from one another, so it looks like one big button, similar to Facebook and the like.  If you click on the box, nothing happens, of course. It might make sense to either make the entire area clickable or to separate it visually in a different way (e.g. just with horizontal lines instead of the current button-like borders 😊

I’ve been using the new layout for a few days now and I’m really thrilled with it. Everything looks much more professional and much more clearly structured.

I did notice one tiny thing, though:
Under Crazypatterns, it says “Your creative ideas.” I’m not entirely happy with that phrasing. Personally, I think “Creative ideas for you” would sound better somehow. Just a small suggestion. ;-)

But you’ve really done a great job here, so a huge thank you to the entire team. 🥳🥳🥳

Hi,
I’m testing it out right now and find it very appealing at first glance.
However, I noticed something (see photo). One of the images isn’t displaying. What could be causing this?

I was happy to see that you are constantly working on the software. I never thought that, as a software developer, I’d be on the other side for once and get to test a beta version. So here goes.
1.
I found a bug:
I’m on one of my products, scroll down to the reviews, and I’m shown reviews from other products.
2.
I don’t think it’s so good that all the product description details have to be clicked individually. It’s important that at least the first item is visible right away. Because I’m afraid that, for example, I write there that you need to be able to read a crochet chart, and people buy it and are disappointed that they didn’t know that.
So the general product description should be visible right away.
3..
When I’m on the right under the product statistics at collections, it only says “Knitting” there. I don’t have any collections, but why Knitting then?
4.
When I have clicked on a product, there are only 8 selection options left at the top, so for example crochet amigurumi is there, crochet for women too, knit shawls, but not crochet in general or crochet for men.
Only these appear at the top in the display: Crochet amigurumiKnitting for womenSewing for childrenCrochet for womenKnit shawlsSewing for womenSew bagsFelted crochet
5.
The section “Ask a question” (formerly comments) is too tempting for people to ask a question. I’m afraid people will then just ask first, e.g. can I crochet this in size XXL too? instead of reading the text first, especially since it doesn’t appear right away (see point 2 of my criticism)
So please change it back to “Comment”
6.
How do you get back to the homepage quickly (from a product view)?
Okay, you can find it, but it should be right at the top, where only those 8 mentioned above in point 4 are.
7..
I think after making a selection, too few items are shown in the view. You have to click “next page” far too often. That’s annoying.  Why not show 100 at once?
8.
When showing my patterns, the first view shows these columns
№ Date Price OP Discount Ø #
but it was better before. Now I first have to click “View” to get what I need as a designer:
№ Date Price OP Discount Visits Sales Revenue CR DSØ WL Ø #
Please make this view the initial view
9.
About the homepage:
I don’t think the images for the individual categories (Everything for your DIY project) are well chosen. Are they constant, or do they change?
Whoever appears under the 8 images in “Trends and recommendations” is really lucky. I think it was better to show lots of small images. So the user doesn’t have to “work” first to see more. I’m afraid that if there’s nothing good among the 8, they’ll leave CP again.
So—now I’ll stop and keep looking.

Hi,

overall I like it; a lot of it is probably just a matter of getting used to it.
The review system bothers me a bit—depending on which pattern you’re currently viewing, the review at the bottom might not be the one for that specific pattern, but a different one.
Even though it’s noted there, you might not notice it. If you then want to see the correct reviews, you have to click again. I don’t find that very user-friendly.
I also don’t like that you have to click through everything—product description, materials, etc. I think a lot of people will definitely skip over that and not read it.
Furthermore, I would have liked to see a separate category for dogs and another for cats. I just don’t think you can lump them together into a single category.
Either you’re looking for a cat or a dog, and you don’t want to have to scroll through X dogs/cats.
This would be a good opportunity to change that.

Moving on

For example, if you go to “My Patterns” from your account and then click the “Back” arrow, you don’t return to where you came from. I find that unfortunate.

Moving on to the homepage:

There, for example, you have the “Trends and Recommendations”
section. This display spans all categories (crochet, knitting, etc.).
I think users would prefer it done differently: first select the category they want (e.g., “Knitting”), and then see which trends and recommendations are available there. Because if you select “Trends and Recommendations” at the start, you see everything—and of course, most of it is crocheted. You have to scroll a long way before you come across anything knitted.

I don’t think the category name “Popular DIY Treasures” is very good. Many of our customers don’t know what DIY is. And DIY is usually more about building, painting, renovating… basically, the kind of things you find at a home improvement store. Better: “Our Bestsellers.” But even there, you should have selected the category you’re interested in FIRST. See point 11—I don’t like “Just Arrived” either; we don’t sell vegetables. Better: “New Arrivals.”

What I’d really like: when you’re in the “Income” section and see, for example, the entry for June 9 (e.g., 23 sales). Then you should be able to click on it to see which 23 items were sold there. Currently, you have to exit “Income” and switch to the “Account Statement.”

Laptop view:

So first of all, about the homepage: I really do think it’s nicely laid out and easy to navigate now. What I don’t like at all are the categories directly under the search bar. Not only are their names poorly chosen, I find them confusing, because right underneath are the main categories “Crochet, knitting.....etc.”, where everyone can navigate to the section they want. Then it says more categories; when I click on that, I get to “Crochet amigurumi,” “Knit for babies,” “Crochet animals.” I don’t understand these additional ones at all. What I’m missing there is more something like, for example, plotting? No matter what I want to crochet, for example, I would look for it under the main category “Crochet,” so why extra categories? And “Crochet animals” somehow falls under amigurumi for me too.

When I then click on the “Crochet” category, for example, everything feels too “cramped” to me personally. There should be a bit of space between the filter options and the suggested patterns. Maybe the filter options themselves could be highlighted with a bit of color? Also, the small category image bothers me; couldn’t it be hidden or set as the first display?

For the reviews, I also find “Ask a question” more than unfortunate; personally, I don’t answer questions about the pattern there. If something absolutely has to be there, then my suggestion would be: If you have questions about this product, please contact the designer directly → and put our author name next to it so it can be clicked.

Product description:
I liked it better before / found it clearer to have everything at a glance and not have to expand something first

That’s it at first glance; I’ll take a closer look over the next few days, maybe I’ll notice something else.

Best regards - Claudia

So, I’ve been testing the new beta version for a while now. On my computer, I’m getting along with it just fine. Some things just take some getting used to, and you have to experiment a bit until you find what you’re looking for. But you can get used to it.
On my phone, however, it just annoys me, because I constantly have to scroll or open something up. A lot of things are hidden behind icons; a labeled button would make it easier to find your way around. I actually found the old version much clearer, especially for the forum.
And as many have already pointed out: the product description should be immediately visible, especially on the product page.  I’m sure a lot of people won’t click on it, and there will be 1,000 follow-up questions.
My conclusion:
Visually, I like the new version, but in terms of practicality, not so much.
Not everything that’s new is necessarily better.

Back to the homepage again:
There are these main headings:
-Trends and Recommendations
-In-Demand DIY Treasures
-New Arrivals
-One-of-a-Kind Items in the Spotlight
- Top-Rated Creative Treasures
I’ve been here for quite a while now. But not even we authors know what belongs in which category, and under what conditions.
All of our work is one of a kind. All of our work is in-demand treasure. Who decides what goes under “Trends”?
Top-Rated Creative Treasures all the way at the bottom, very small—what does that mean? One 5-star review or many?
It all feels kind of wishy-washy.
Bestsellers and New Arrivals were clearly definable items.
And one more thing: One of the filters is now “Show only 5-star reviews.” The problem is that new arrivals can’t fall under that because they can’t have been reviewed yet. But new arrivals in particular should be promoted more strongly.
I’ll keep testing now. Best regards to everyone.

At first glance, it’s fresh, modern, appealing, well-organized, and clear.
I really like it.
I’ll have to take a closer look at it over the next few days.

iPad view

I find the new design fresh, clear, and well thought out.

I especially like the buttons in the product description that let you selectively view the individual pieces of information about the product.

What always annoys me as a user is that images can be posted in the gallery without naming the designer or noting: "Original creation".
Here I would like to see a required field. That should also be in the designers' interest.

With a quote from Heraclitus, "Nothing is as constant as change"😉😉

Personally, I much prefer the old version. I find the category structure there simpler, and I liked that everything in the product description was visible at a glance. The fact that you now have to click on everything separately is something I personally find very annoying.

I don’t think so at all—quite the opposite. This will likely/hopefully lead to more detailed information; some product descriptions were indeed very sparse.
Sure, it’s unfamiliar, and because of that I’m probably still searching back and forth a bit unnecessarily, but I think that’ll settle down once I’ve really gotten the hang of it.
Visually, I definitely think it looks pretty good, but I really miss the left column with the individual categories.

I like how clear and organized everything is. However, I’d prefer it if I didn’t have to click separately just to read the product description. That’s where I get an idea of whether the pattern is interesting to me. Then I’m happy to click through for more information.
Of course, a change like this takes some getting used to at first, because you have to step away from your usual habits. Thanks to the “creators” for asking the community for their feedback and opinions instead of just imposing a new format on us.
Keep it up!

Hello dear Crazypatterns Team!
I think the new layout has turned out well.
I’d like to point out something that was already the case before, but I thought I’d wait for the changes first. Unfortunately, the problem is still there.
When I go to my patterns on my phone and want to edit the images for a product, it’s only possible to a limited extent. Because when there are a lot of images filling the entire screen, I can no longer scroll. Instead, I move the images or their positions. They don’t jump back to their old position when I let go, which is intended. But this has caused me to accidentally mix up the images, and I had to set the correct order again on my PC.
It’s not a big deal, but if an improvement could be found for this, it would be very practical.

Best regards, Karoline

Hi, I was just trying to upload an additional product image in the new version. It said the upload was successful, but unfortunately, the image didn’t appear in the previews. I tried it twice.
Then I switched to the old version, and uploading the photo worked right away.

Best regards, Katja

I prefer the old version because it offers all the essential information at a glance.
I like the “Customer Photos” because I can’t search specifically in the gallery.

I’ve tested the new version myself and have to say, I’m a bit torn… The new version does look fresher and more modern, but you have to click through more to get to the information you want. It was better before, but I’m sure we’ll get used to it, just like we do with all the constant changes from updates.

What really bothers me are the ads—for example, when I want to browse the “Crochet Women’s Shirts/Tunics” category, the same shirts from designers that I’ve already seen on page 1 keep popping up over and over. It’s no wonder that the category mentioned above shows 24 pages—pages that wouldn’t actually exist without these ads. It’s no fun at all anymore when I just want to look at different designs. Please consider whether these ads are really necessary.

I like that I can now choose in the forum. When I click on the thread title, it takes me to the first post; when I click on the number next to it, it takes me to the last post. That wasn’t the case before, and it saves a lot of scrolling, especially when there are many posts. I also think it’s great that the thread’s topic is now listed at the bottom!

At first glance, I find the new version complicated. What I really don’t like: if I want to view the details of a pattern, I now have to click countless times. I want to see at a glance what materials are used and what requirements are needed. For my taste, there’s just too much searching involved—that’s my very first impression.

Regarding the Authors’ Forum:

A new comment from the Authors’ Forum posted today at 11:15 a.m. is not displayed under “Latest
Comments.” Since “New Topics” are displayed by creation date, new, important comments can easily be overlooked when scrolling down multiple times and having to pay attention to the date of the latest comment.

Hi,
we’re supposed to test this and report any issues.
Well, the Ad Manager isn’t working for me anymore. I can’t find the ads in the queue or the ones that have already been published.
Am I doing something wrong?

@ claudia-sticken:
Go to: --> My Patterns --> Ad Manager --> There you’ll find 3 buttons:
On-Site Ads - Newsletter - Facebook Ads
And there you can click on what you want to see: Published - Queued - Closed
(On your phone, you’ll need to scroll down a bit)

Hey everyone,
I’ve been checking out the new version for a few days now, and I just find it annoying. Sorry.
Nothing works right. On my phone, the links are right across the images, so I can’t click on anything anymore.
And since I do most of my CP stuff on my phone, it’s just not cutting it anymore.

Hi there, dear CP Team,
you’ve put in a lot of work—thanks for that.

I tested the new version on my PC.
Downloads and the blog are great. The gallery has become nice and clear. The wish list is now fantastic! You get more info at a glance right away.

Unfortunately, that’s about it for the praise.

The homepage takes more than a little getting used to. You end up searching forever. That’s especially annoying when you just want to take a quick look at something.
When I open a pattern, I want to see right away what there is to say about the item being offered. I don’t want to have to click around a million times to get to the details. Above all, when reading reviews of a pattern, I only want to see reviews for that specific pattern—not ones about other items. That’s happened several times.
I also prefer the old version of the forum. I found it clearer and easier to use.

I’d like to see a mix of the old and the new.

More suggestions:
There are now folders in the wish list. It would be great if you could move saved items permanently into these folders, so the rest of the wish list becomes smaller and more organized.
Folders would be great for downloads, too!
It’s sometimes very tedious to find specific downloads, especially older ones.

In the forum, it would be great to have an option to correct posts. If you spot a mistake in a post, you either have to leave it as is or post another message right after it. However, I’d prefer quality over quantity.

Best regards
Marlies

Hi, I was very surprised by the new design at the end of last week, and I’m afraid I have to say I’m not thrilled with it.

I’ve just spent 15 minutes searching and still don’t know where to find my own patterns. Where is the wish list I created?

As a seller, I unfortunately can’t find what I need at a glance. The screen is full of an uninteresting overview; I don’t need the overall numbers. I’d like to continue seeing first which patterns were purchased most recently, rather than a list of things I don’t need for my daily work.

So if anyone has already found their own patterns, please share the info.

Best regards
naroknit

Dear community,

Thank you very much for sharing your feedback so actively – every response helps us make the platform even better. We know that changes sometimes require patience, and we are working hard to iron out the remaining issues.

Thank you for the specific reports

A big thank-you to everyone who has already reported very specific points, for example

  • broken image uploads
  • missing designer credits in galleries
  • touch areas that are too small on mobile
  • hidden material or size information on the product page
  • incorrectly assigned reviews

All of these reports are on our internal task board. Some have already been fixed, others are in quality assurance or will run as A/B tests so we can measure which version works best for the majority.

More specific examples requested

Some of you have mainly described general impressions (“I don’t like it,” “I like the old design better”). We take that very seriously – but in order to make targeted improvements, we need details.

Please include your device and browser if possible, and add a screenshot if you can. The more precise the feedback, the better we can reproduce and fix the problem or bug.

What happened on Sunday (June 22, 2025)

On Sunday evening, we rolled out a larger update. During this, the navigation was briefly rendered incorrectly and overlapped parts of the layout, making links almost impossible to select. @WollMeer, thank you for the lightning-fast feedback! The bug was fixed immediately; we are optimizing our release routine so that issues like this do not go live in the future.

A broader picture of the mood

Experience shows that in a forum, the people who speak up are mainly those who have discovered bugs or are unhappy with individual points. The large majority of users who have not posted here have received the new design neutrally to positively.

A heartfelt thank-you also goes to everyone who sent us feedback quietly – whether by private message, email, or via the contact form. We have also received a lot of constructive and encouraging feedback there, which we are of course evaluating just as carefully. Your criticism and your praise both feed into the ongoing development of Crazypatterns.

What happens next

  1. Bug fixes first – critical bugs have top priority.
  2. Mobile optimization – we are checking touch areas, drag-and-drop gestures, and contrasts on the most common smartphones.
  3. Important product information – we are evaluating whether the description and materials list should remain expanded by default in the future.
  4. List pages – we are testing more products per page and/or “infinite scrolling” and observing what feels most comfortable for you.
  5. Category fine-tuning – we are working on missing categories.

Please understand if not every change is visible immediately – A/B tests in particular need some time to provide reliable data.

Technical terms briefly explained

  • A/B test – Two versions (A and B) of a page run in parallel; statistics can objectively determine which one works better.
  • Touch area – the tappable area of a button or link on touch devices; it should be large enough so you don’t tap beside it.
  • Infinite scrolling – New items are loaded automatically as you scroll, instead of clicking “Next page.”

Once again, thank you very much for your constructive support! Together, we are making Crazypatterns a little better every day. Please be patient a little longer – and don’t hesitate to send more specific reports.

Best regards
Your Crazypatterns Team

Hi,
it’s strange that my old problem still persists—maybe it’s my fault after all? Whenever I click on an item in my wishlist and then hit “Back,” I’m always taken back to the first page of my wishlist, even though I was already much further along. I’m using a laptop with Google Chrome.
As some others here have already noted, the new design is nicer, but I don’t want to have to expand every section individually every time.
Best regards,
Janine

I’ve already mentioned this in the authors’ thread, but I’m not sure if it got lost in the mix there:

When I wanted to upload an image from one of my patterns to the forum (e.g., in the promotional threads), I could simply copy and paste the image URL in the old version. That no longer works, because when you click the image icon, you’re only redirected to your own computer. So I have to save the image to my computer first before I can insert it. I find that very cumbersome. Can this be changed back?

Some of the issues I had reported have been fixed. Thanks for that.
I’d also love infinite scrolling! That constant “next page” is annoying.
I really like the narrowing down by “Women,” “Babies,” etc.
Have you ever tried to find the forum? Imagine you’re new here. You probably wouldn’t find your way there, would you?

Regarding the homepage:
I still don’t like the different topic areas: I mean these: Trends and RecommendationsCurrent BestsellersOn Sale – Save Now!New ArrivalsDiscover Sponsored ProductsTop-Rated Creative TreasuresThat just confuses people! What am I supposed to understand by “Trends and Recommendations”? Who selects those?
In my opinion, there should only be three:
Bestsellers
New Arrivals
Savings.
In that order.

If it’s going to stay this way: will an item appear in either one category or another, or can an item appear multiple times? For example, under “Bestsellers” and also under “Trends and Recommendations” and also under “Savings”?

I’d also like to hear your opinion on the following:
I think a user comes to the site with something in mind. What they definitely have is a hobby, e.g. crocheting or knitting or crafting.
That decision should be made first , and only then the categories
Bestsellers
New Arrivals
Savings.
Why? Suppose they’re interested in knitting but go to Bestsellers; then they see all kinds of things, but it takes a long time until they find something for knitting.
If they choose knitting first, they can no longer search by Bestsellers or New Arrivals.

@claudia-stricken

The “Trends & Recommendations” pages have been around for a long time on CP. And these pages are very important to many authors because they offer a chance to appear on a (let’s call it a “highlight”) page or overview—even if a product isn’t new, on sale, or a bestseller—but is currently in season or has been successfully promoted (internally or externally).

Just because you haven’t noticed these pages doesn’t mean they aren’t important.

For the reasons mentioned above, I’m very much in favor of keeping them.

First of all, thank you very much for your efforts with the new layout. It takes some getting used to.
Still, I get along better with the old version.

Something I noticed today: when I want to add an item to my wishlist—so I click “Wishlist”—and then go back to the author images that were displayed, the image suddenly disappears from that gallery because it’s now on my wishlist. Is that how it’s supposed to work?

Hello dear CP Team,

the layout is great, and I think it’s good that you’re making improvements.

However, the product manager was better before. The font there is way too big, and you always have to scroll or switch views—and still scroll. The compact view used to be better. It doesn’t help even if you reduce the font size on your device.
Another point: in the Ad Manager, you can no longer see how many products you’ve sold through an ad. Only the total revenue is visible now. Could you add that metric back?

Best regards
Andrea

I just noticed that “Announcements and Promotions” are hidden at the very top in a collapsible bar. It’s easy to overlook, even though it’s green. If there’s a promotion, no one will notice it. I don’t think that should be collapsed.

Oh, and about the device: I’m on my phone right now

I’ve tested it myself and don’t find the homepage very appealing to customers at all… They don’t want to have to click multiple times to find a pattern. Most won’t bother looking for the product description—they’ll just leave the site and not buy anything. I do a lot of advertising on Instagram and Facebook—that’s also much more difficult now. Before, you’d click on the link, copy the URL, and could post it right away in your Story. Now you have to go through a lot of trouble to get the link—it’s no fun. Customers won’t like this; they’ll go to other platforms, like Etsy. We’re going to lose customers, if only because many of them here are older and want to stick to their habits. It just isn’t well thought out—I wanted to read a review of a bowl but ended up with a review of a top. Everything needs to be revamped; the homepage is completely uninteresting, and nothing works. People want to buy something without having to search for it. Best regards, Sigrid Braun

I don’t like it; I used to be able to navigate the site much better before

I don’t like that you can’t zoom in on the photos anymore.

It took a little getting used to at first.

You really have to pay attention to the reviews.
There are product reviews and store reviews.
You have to click on the right one. When you scroll down, it automatically shows the store reviews.
If I want to read the product reviews, I have to select them separately.

I really like the “Questions and Answers” section.
In the previous version, the reviews and comments were sometimes mixed together.

The font is bigger now, and so are the pictures 😀😀
So I think the new design is great.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend
🍾🍸🎉😎

I think it’s pretty good. Even when expanding the specific details (description, required skills, etc.), there’s no problem. But why do the reviews show completely different projects—ones I’m not interested in at all right now—instead of the one I selected? This needs to be fixed; reviews are a key factor in my decision-making. Best regards, Anja

You have to differentiate the review here between "designers" and "customers".
The designers do seem to be having some problems with the new platform, which I can't judge.

I'm a customer, I've really tried everything out and I'm very satisfied, because there are several improvements. For example, you can zoom the images in the gallery without the image jumping to a previous one.

In the forum, I click on the number of posted messages and I'm in the last post.

In the product itself, in the lower area I only have to click product or store review and I have what I want.

I can't understand that so many people complain that an extra click is required. Folks, it's not a marathon. Think of it as brain training!

As I said, I'm writing only as a customer, and I'm getting close to 70 too.

In any case, I would like to sincerely thank the developers.
You did a great job.

By now, I’ve gotten the hang of the new design and how it works, but I found my way around better before.
What I’ve noticed now is that when I just want to write a comment on a product photo, I can’t find a field for it anymore. You can only submit or write a review in the review field—you can’t write regular comments anymore. Just the “Like” button with the heart that I can click—nothing else. Or did I miss something?

Have a nice evening

Dear community,

Thank you very much for the additional feedback—we have received lots of more specific input. Some of the reported issues—including the most urgent bug fixes—are already on developers’ monitors and are expected to be rolled out gradually over the next few days / weeks.

For more complex topics, we are currently planning concept and testing phases; we ask you for a little more patience here, as these updates require more development and coordination time.

Please send us—as always—your device, browser, and a screenshot if you discover further details. The more precise you are, the faster we can fine-tune things.

Many thanks for your commitment and your patience!

Good morning,
I’ve had images rotate after publishing several times now.

I always check my post in the preview before publishing; my images look fine there. After publishing, they are rotated. I work on a laptop.

Good morning,

and once again my image has rotated. Am I doing something wrong?

Good morning,

thanks for letting us know. The issue appears to be on our end (server). In certain cases, our image processing doesn’t consistently interpret the EXIF orientation when preview images are generated after upload. In the preview, you’ll still see the original correctly, but after publishing, the thumbnail appears rotated. You didn’t do anything wrong.

Our developers are looking into this. We’ll normalize the orientation during upload and align the preview and published version.

Quick fix (optional, until the fix is live):

  • Rotate the image locally once, save it as a new file (“embed” the rotation), and upload it again with a new filename.
  • If the original is HEIC: export it as JPG/PNG first.
  • After uploading, reload the page (clear your browser cache if necessary – e.g. with Ctrl+F5).

If possible, send the original image (before uploading) and your device/browser to support (support@crazypatterns.net). We’ll then check the case and correct any existing preview images if necessary.

Best regards,
Your Crazypatterns Team

Dear Marlies,
I agree with you: I think it’s a shame that you can’t change or delete anything in the forum after the fact

Dear Team,
I have another suggestion: I think it’s a bit of a shame that you can’t reply directly to a post in the forum. In this case, for example, Marlies’s message is much further up. Best regards from Salzburg, Sigrid

P.S.: I always click “Notify me when there’s a reply,” but I’ve never received a notification. Am I doing something wrong?
Best regards,
Sigrid
