Dear community,
are you busy crafting in real life too, or is it too hot for you?

I’m knitting.
I want to have the jacket finished by the start of fall.
We’ll see if I can manage that by then.

With the ceiling fan on, it’s reasonably comfortable.

It’s definitely too hot for me, especially since I’m recovering from a COVID-19 infection. It took almost two weeks for them to figure out why I’ve been feeling so lousy—an odyssey from doctor to doctor. I thought it was just a mild summer cold, but nooo, Inge had to catch this crap 😞😓 Love, Inge

Oh dear, get well soon, INge!

No, it’s not too hot for me, but I’m not running around like crazy either—everything’s nice and calm. And yes, the fan’s on here too.
I’ve been crocheting some more on my summer jacket, and then Lacritza’s Mystery CAL started on Instagram today—I’ve already finished Part 1, and as always, it’s really exciting.

After dinner, I’m struggling with my DF washcloth (with text that’s readable on both sides). Since my printer is acting up—it’s just spitting out blank sheets!—I can’t check off the stitch sequence on the knitting chart as I go, which inevitably means I have to unravel my work—so annoying! I hope to find a solution tomorrow!

I started a new embroidery project yesterday, and every now and then I crochet a dish towel.

No, it’s not too hot for me—I do it like Veronika: slowly and calmly. I look for shady spots in the garden or just stay inside on the sofa.

I’m enjoying the warmth and the summer. Today I’ve already been sewing up in my attic sewing room. All the windows are open, creating a nice draft. I make sure to drink plenty of water in between.

The dark, cold season will be here soon enough. That’s why I’m enjoying the warmth now. It’s a shame you can’t bottle up the summer. :-))

Love, Ina

This heat is killing me. The high humidity makes crafting impossible. I really need an ice bath.

I’m lounging on the sofa with a damp cloth on the back of my neck, crocheting my summer sweater. It’ll probably be ready for next summer, but at least this keeps me busy.

It’s actually way too warm for crafting because your hands get sweaty when you work with yarn. So I just painted a few wooden beads—with faces for lucky worms—and also crocheted a few little worms that I’ll need to give away next week. I won’t start knitting or crocheting bigger projects again until it cools down a bit ;-).

Good morning!
Yes, it’s too hot, but I just crochet in my kiddie pool. I put my mini stool in, sit on it, and start crocheting :-).
There’s nothing better *laughs*

Mod Edit:
Please don’t include external links in your posts, thanks.

Cool, that would’ve been nice for me, too. But without the stool.🤣

I often get pretty hot, but it’s never too hot for me to do crafts.

Yesterday, with the temperature in my apartment at about 28°, I managed to finish a headband—except for the tedious part of sewing the ends together... That’s a little concerning, isn’t it???

No, Renate, that’s nothing to worry about. It’s actually a survival strategy. It shows that we crafters can tune out all adversities and simply focus on our crafts. Isn’t that great?

Best regards, Ina

Or just dip your feet in a bowl of water—that works great, too.
Despite the heat, though, I wasn’t completely idle.😉

And I dressed up my little doll:

That should say “helps”—putting your feet in the water. 🤭

Team “Too Warm”:

Over the past few years, I’ve gotten into the habit of being creative in my sewing room mostly during the cooler seasons. In the summer, I’m almost always outside, doing yard work and reading a lot.

It's just too hot. This time I couldn't crochet because yesterday, for the first time, I felt really unwell due to circulation issues. I've never had that before. Woozy, ringing in my ears; I actually drank enough, the fan is running—first I was sweating, then freezing. At night you can hardly sleep properly.
This morning I took 1/2 a tablet, since I had to go to the early shift, and after that I felt better again. Now this evening it's starting again, 1/2 a tablet, then straight to bed. There's no doctor around on the weekend anyway. I have to hang in there; I'm on vacation soon, then finally some rest.

At work the air is stagnant, and I'm walking around there with a damp cloth around my neck too. Awful.

Wishing everyone else a speedy recovery too. Sleep well, get some rest.

Luckily, it’s cooler again now—or at least not sweltering.

Dear Andrea, I hope you feel better soon and am sending you some warm regards.

Love, Ina

It’s a small stool, so I’m sitting in it up to my belly. When I sit without the stool, it comes up almost to my neck :-D. Then it gets tricky to crochet :-D
But it’s really fun

Sunny and 26 degrees—yes, very pleasant. The nights are getting really cool again, which definitely makes for a better night’s sleep.

It’s cooled down quite a bit here.

And every now and then I watch the little bees

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone

Things are back to normal now, and I was at least able to finish knitting the socks that have been sitting around for weeks. I can also concentrate on a project for a little longer without getting a headache right away.
You can see the socks here:

Well, that didn’t work out; the socks can be seen in the KT thread

Best, Inge

I’m crocheting a shawl with a yarn cake. Simple pattern and just right for summer

I wanted to continue knitting a shawl from leftover sock yarn, but the pattern and the material are too warm for me.

This morning it was 10 degrees—that’s how fast things can change. I’d better take a look at my stash of thick socks right away....

It’s already pretty cool here in the mornings, but then it gets sunny and pleasantly warm during the day.

It rained a little last night, but now the sun is coming out after all.

Let’s see what the day has in store for me—I’m planning to do a little ironing and mend holes in a pair of my husband’s pants.
