Working with Acrylic Yarn: Get Started Now

here you’ll find designs that are great to make with acrylic yarn / acrylic wool. Have fun with them.

For fashionable accessories, especially for children, I like to use a yarn blend of polyacrylic and polyamide. First, this yarn is cuddly soft; second, it’s very easy to care for; third, it also keeps you nice and warm. And even on very sensitive children’s skin, the knitted fabric feels really cozy and comfortable. My older daughter can’t tolerate virgin wool on her skin, so I’m happy that there are high-quality, easy-care synthetic fibers. Here are my suggestions that are wonderfully suited for polyacrylic yarn or blends with polyacrylic.




Doubleface knitting pattern loop "Winter Dream" - this dreamy loop keeps you cozy and warm and is an absolutely enchanting companion on cool days. Thanks to doubleface knitting, the loop looks great on both sides.

Acrylic yarn is wonderfully suited for crocheting a temperature blanket: first, the yarn usually comes in many different colors; second, it’s affordable; third, it keeps the blanket from getting too heavy; fourth, it keeps you nice and warm; and finally, it’s easy to care for and can be washed in the washing machine without any problem.

A temperature blanket is an exciting project that can keep you busy for a whole year. Since the color sequence depends on the daily temperature, you don’t know in advance what the blanket will look like in the end. One row is crocheted every day.

Acrylic yarns - for some uses, I find acrylic yarns ideal. They come in beautiful bright colors, they don't shrink, you can wash them in the washing machine, and they are inexpensive. Acrylic yarn works very well for doll clothes. It is fluffy and has good stretch.
With this pattern, you can knit raglan sweaters in different sizes for dolls and teddy bears.

This overall for dolls (40-50 cm) is also knitted from acrylic yarn, also with raglan from the top down.

And also one of the little overalls for teddy bears 25-30 cm - it can be knitted with any yarn.

A raglan sweater for dolls 43-50 cm can be knitted wonderfully with acrylic yarn.

Baby's first cuddly little bear, knitted from soft raglan yarn, is wonderfully snuggly. This little bear is also very easy for beginners with basic skills to knit.
