I forgot to show this earlier—this is now becoming a baby blanket for Kruemel.

Crocheting with a surprise effect: I wound leftover Bobbel yarn into balls, and that way I never know which color will come next, but the colors still go together.

Andrea, wow, that blanket is turning out great! Is that the C2C technique? I’ve unfortunately never tried it myself. In any case, it was a great choice for your surprise yarn cake—it looks really good.

Ina, what a lovely idea to crochet a cover for that plastic exercise ball! Not only is it warmer in winter and more pleasant in summer, but of course it also looks worlds better. I don’t have an exercise ball myself, but if I did, by now at the latest I wouldn’t be able to stand the sight of it bare anymore and would have to crochet a cover for it right away. And I’m always delighted by your “yarn in a jar” :-)

Ines, don’t be so modest—you’re a phenomenon. You’re showing us one crocheted piece after another, and they’re all so pretty and lovingly made. You’ve got a turbo mode built in somewhere—admit it! :-)

Monika, you’ve really come a long way already. I think it’s great that your yarn works so well for DF knitting, too, because I’ve already got my eye on it for a future project. And it’s fascinating how different the same pattern looks with a different color combination. Red and white was definitely a good choice :-)

I finished my first wrist warmer last night—while I was knitting, I got the idea to design it so it can be worn in different ways. I was so excited that I just had to put together a collage, which I’d love to show you:

I hope you all have a lovely afternoon (despite the storm and rain...?)!

Andrea, your hat is turning out great. It’s really handy—if it’s too big, you still have other dolls to choose from.

Your blanket is looking nice, too; the colors go well together.  I tried that once, too—it’s been a while. They were all scraps; I just kept crocheting until I ran out of yarn.

I’d also like to crochet a c2c blanket with a pattern—I already have the pattern for it, but unfortunately haven’t had time yet.

Sonja, your photo collage of the wrist warmers looks great. It’s really handy when you can wear the wrist warmers in different ways. Your patterns turned out beautifully.

My goodness, there’s a lot going on here! It’s really great to see how hard-working you all are.

Ines, your little chick turned out so cute again. Does it have bunny ears on top? And all those little details… absolutely charming. The Tunisian crochet nest looks great, too. I admire you for both—it’s not really my thing.

Andrea, I’m really impressed by your knitting! It looks really good. You seem to be really back into knitting again—great! Your baby blanket for Krümel is also very pretty. Now she won’t have to be cold anymore. Good idea for using up leftover yarn balls. I still have some of those too, but it wouldn’t be enough for a blanket.

Marion, is that your blanket? Have you ever crocheted one like that before? It’s corner-to-corner too, as far as I can tell, right?

As you’ve probably already guessed, I’m knitting the wrist warmer sample for Sonja. I can only do this during the day because I have to concentrate fully on it. I’ve already made some progress today—all the way past the finger hole. This is what it looks like now. I’m totally thrilled and can’t stop. I want to finish the first one tomorrow.

Working hard, working hard—such beautiful C2C blankets. If only I had more time, I’d try the DB technique first and then the C2C technique. But I don’t think that time will ever come. In any case, I think your blankets, dear Andrea and dear Marion, are very beautiful. The diagonal color gradient is truly fascinating.

Andrea, I see your new ergonomic crochet hook lying next to your C2C blanket. Are you getting along well with it? I had one once, too—it just wasn’t right for me. I hope it works for you. How big is the blanket going to be? And how many strands are your leftover yarn cakes made of? I still have a yarn cake lying around, too... :-)

But I also like the DB wrist warmers that you, dear Monika, are currently test-knitting. In any case, the start already looks promising. And Sonja has already revealed what they’ll look like when they’re finished. Sonja, they’re beautiful too, and I understand your enthusiasm.

I wish you all a lovely, relaxing afternoon and evening.
Warm regards, Ina

Yay, I did it! I just finished the hat—it’s a little too big, unfortunately, but whatever. Kruemel still looks cute in it.
Knitting it all together was a real challenge, but I managed to figure it out after watching a video.

What do you think?

The hat is really cute—and you’ve inspired me: I had to look up the pattern right away and want to knit a hat like that sometime. The only problem is that there’s never enough time for crafts in my day…

Yeah, it’s me again.

Marion, I’m really pleased to hear that. I’ve never knitted hats before, let alone knitted separate pieces together. I didn’t know that at all. I’m proud as punch, and Krümel is thrilled.
Next time I’ll know to use thinner yarn and fewer stitches, like you did.
It’s too big for my other doll, too. Practice makes perfect.

Ina, the new crochet hook takes some getting used to—it’s different—but I’ll give it a try for now. I also ordered three more of those things. We’ll see.
My C2C blanket will be about 65 x 80 cm. The yarn cake is partly 3-ply and partly 4-ply, but it’s relatively thin, so it’s not that noticeable. I’m lucky that the colors go well together.

Monika , your DF project already looks really pretty.
I’m definitely tempted to try that out someday, but one thing at a time. For now, I’ve finished the hat. My C2C blanket still needs to be finished. Once I feel more confident with knitting, I can broaden my horizons. Your projects really motivate me to keep going, though.

Okay, see you later—I’m going to start making dinner

:-) :-) :-)

Andrea, I’m thrilled with how great you’ve pulled this off. Your little one looks super cute in it. Hats off to you for taking on such a challenging practice piece. After my long break, I spent hours and days watching YouTube videos and following along. Not only did that help me get back into knitting, but I also learned a whole lot. I highly recommend it. It really gets you more and more excited.

So now I’m interested in the hat, too. I’ve already downloaded the pattern, and it’s on my to-do list. Then our triplets would even be dressed alike, just in different colors.

Marion gave me an idea. I’m going to design a little loop scarf in double-face for Sternchen. I’ll start with that. Let’s see how it turns out. It might take a while, though.

Well, there’s quite a lot going on here. I’m feeling rather lazy today when it comes to crafts, but that’s okay once in a while :)

Andrea, the hat is adorable, and Kruemel looks so cute in it. I’ve also got the hat on my watchlist for when I eventually dig out my dolls.
I also think your C2C blanket is very beautiful; I’ve never tried that before, and I think the colors work really well together.

Marion, did you make a C2C blanket too? It looks lovely as well; as I said, I’m not familiar with that at all.

Sonja the wrist warmers are very pretty again too, and yes, the things I was able to show one after another were mostly small and quick to make. Now it’s the Easter basket’s turn, and I’m still experimenting with it.

Monika, you can really tell how taken you are with DF; apart from the colors, it looks very perfect. I’m amazed, too, that you already want to design a loop scarf, and I’m very excited to see it.

Now I wish you all a relaxing evening

Quick note for Monika and Ines

A few years ago, I tried the C2C technique for the first time. I didn’t know it before then either.
I don’t have the blankets anymore; I only found the photo. I also watched some videos, and it really is easy.
I should start on my sampler blanket soon, because it’s meant for a baby who will be born in the summer.

Wishing you all a lovely evening.

I’m so delighted by your positive feedback; it brings me so much joy and makes me want to keep knitting. Thanks again.

Monika
, you’re already a more professional knitter than I am. The hat really does look difficult. I had to read through the pattern twice first before I knew what was meant. Well, the joining together isn’t explained in the pattern, nor is that eyelet row. I learned what I needed from YouTube videos, and it’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it.
It’s only knit and purl stitches, and suitable for knitting in front of the TV for you, too.
Monika, if I managed it, as a beginner, I’d say, then you can manage it too.

Then we’ll put all the pictures together and admire our triplets with their hats haha.

I now know how the eyelet row works, but I had to leave it out on my hat because it had become too big anyway. So it’s sort of become a hat-with-scarf.
And with this bamboo needle from the Casy-Trio, I’m thinking about it for next time. Thanks for that tip too.

Now the question is, what do I knit next? Maybe these baby shoes from the hat pattern?
We’ll see.

Have a lovely evening

Ines, yes, I’m really thrilled with the DF—especially because it produces such great results. It works really well with the yarn guide on my finger. I can now knit just as fast with it as I do with regular knitting. I’m curious to see how you get along with it.

Marion, thanks for the info on the blankets. Last year I knitted a shawl that I started at one corner. It should be similar with crocheting. Luckily, there’s YouTube.

Andrea, yes, let’s do that. I’ll knit the hat for Sternchen too, and then we’ll have a cute triplet photo. :)
I’m so happy that you’ve taken the plunge into knitting—and with a pattern that wasn’t even that easy, no less. Hats off to you!! You’ll see that you’ll enjoy knitting cute clothes for the little ones more and more. Just like you, I had to relearn everything from scratch and came up with lots of ideas in the process. Even today, I still enjoy learning new techniques through videos, like double-face knitting right now. Your little booties are sure to turn out very cute, too. I can’t wait to see them.

I wish you all a wonderful start to the weekend!

Good evening,

Beanie No. 2 has just been finished. It only took a day. Now it fits perfectly. I used thinner yarn and only 80 stitches. Wow, it went much faster with the thinner yarn than with the thick one.
That had been bothering me.
What a difference. What do you think?

Oh, wow, Andrea!! You’re so fast! The new hat turned out great. Congratulations!!
Yeah, it’s a huge difference—you can really tell.
Krümel looks soooo cute in the new hat.

You won’t believe it, but you’ve motivated me so much to knit this hat for Sternchen, too, that I picked out the yarn today. It’s also relatively thin and has different colors in it that are similar to yours. Now I need at least four hands, because that means I have three ongoing projects.

By the way, I’ve finished one wrist warmer—except for the thumb. That’s driving me a little crazy. But I really want to get it done, so it’s time for unraveling and practice again.... grrrr.
I’ll post a photo when it’s finished.

Good night!

Oh, Andrea that really was quick, and the hat fits perfectly now—even though I liked the first one too. Your little one looks so adorable in it. I’ve noticed before that some yarns are easier and quicker to work with; that’s probably down to the composition, who knows.

I’ve been taking a break from crafting for the past two days; there’s a lot to do and my neck is acting up :) Since I’ve been helping my husband take rubble to the container, I’ve probably been carrying too much on one side. We want to get a bit more done by noon today, then it’s time for a break; the kids are dropping by quickly for coffee, and after that we’ll be football fans again, haha—maybe I’ll pick up my needles then too.
Now I have to quickly bake a cake; I’ll post the recipe next week. One more thing: it’s a GDR Krawallkuchen, maybe one or two of you know it.

I wish you all a lovely weekend
Best regards, Ines

Andrea, that went really fast!!!

Krümel looks cute in her hat—it fits perfectly now.

Monika, knowing you, Sternchen will definitely be wearing her hat in the next few days.

I also took a two-day break—we had contractors
in the house. I started over on my swatch because I decided to use a different type of yarn. Maybe it’ll grow over the weekend.

Good morning, everyone!

I’m always happy when I’m here on the forum, reading your lovely comments—it’s so nice how we motivate each other. We really are a fun group of crafters.
Maybe once we’ve gotten through all this with C....a, we’ll be able to meet up in real life for a cup of coffee—with the baby *laughs*

Monika, I’m really curious to see what your hat for Sternchen looks like. You’ll easily finish that in a day.
Ines, I hope you get better soon. That kind of one-sided movement—and maybe it’s still unfamiliar to you—is tough on the body. So get well soon so we can admire your new creations again. I’m glad you all like the hat, too. It doesn’t look so bulky anymore.
Marion, thanks again for the tip about the 80 stitches—it fits the head perfectly.
A forced break like that is a bummer. I hope everything gets sorted out soon so you can get back to your hobby.

Now, one more question. With the hat, once it’s knitted together, which side do you use for the front and which for the eyelet row? I’m always puzzling over that. Does it even matter, or do you use the “nicer” edge side?

For the eyelet row, I didn’t really dare to pick up the stitches with the knitting needle—or how do you guys do it? I used the crochet hook, crocheted a round of stitches, and then picked them up with the knitting needle and knitted them. It worked great.

Next, I thought I’d knit a cover for this gummy bear jar from Ina. Now I remember how to knit again.
The little booties can wait for now.

Have a lovely weekend
see you around

it’s -13 degrees here today, with dry, cold air and sunshine.

You’ve all been so busy. I think the hat is absolutely wonderful. It goes perfectly with the ski suit and is just the right thing for -13 degrees.

I’ve finally finished something again, too. A wish from my grandson for his birthday. Grandma, can you make me an Among Us? Are you wondering what that is? Yes, I had to have it explained to me too. Or rather, I also had him draw it for me.

It was supposed to be red. I’ve since been told it’s supposed to be a villain from a computer game.

And then today I already baked Marlene’s mango muffins. Tried them warm—super delicious and highly recommended (link to the recipe)

Ines, take good care of yourself and your neck. Yes, sometimes a needle break really does make sense. But you’ve also been very busy lately. Doing nothing is allowed sometimes too. :)

Yes, Andrea, I also think we’re a great crafting bunch. I think I would knit a lot less if this forum didn’t exist. It always gives you a real boost of motivation. Maybe some others here feel the same way. I’d also be happy about meeting “live and in color” - with babies, of course. Maybe we’ll end up heading north again someday. After all, we lived in Bremen until 1991.

Now I’m actually going to move the hat for Sternchen up the list. The pattern is printed out. You only used 80 sts, right? Did you take off the missing 8 stitches in the middle or at the edges? We’ll see how far I get with it this evening. As for the eyelet row, there is a picture in the pattern. I’m not that far yet, but I think you can see it quite well. In any case, it works better from the nicer edge side. Picking up stitches, I basically always do that with a crochet hook and only then pull the stitches onto the knitting needle. Then you knit as usual. Lately I’ve also been using a crochet hook when binding off. You can actually knit quite well with it, and binding off is much easier.

Petra, that really is a quirky little guy. The things children wish for ... really funny. Your mango muffins look very tasty. Mmmmm...

Today we had sheet-pan gingerbread again. My husband asked for it. This time I changed it up. I used almonds and apricot kernels (as a bitter almond substitute). It tastes suuuuper delicious, especially for marzipan fans. I added it to the recipe thread. Here is the link to the recipe.

Now my progress on Sonja’s wrist warmers:

The first one is finished. I tried the thumb with DF first, but then unraveled it again. Now I simply knitted it in the knit-purl pattern, and it fits well that way.

Here are a few more photos of the first finished wrist warmer - without and with the thumb. I’ve already started the second one.

Finally, I have something to show again: Paula the Penguin was made using a pattern by Anna Suppanz, and the idea for the two dishcloths came from zwergerlstrick.

Andrea, Hat No. 2 fits perfectly, including the color, so cute! And you were super fast!

Monika, how do you actually manage to get everything done so quickly? The wrist warmers look great, and I really like the color combo too!

Petra, the muffins look very tempting, and the villain doesn’t look mean at all. How old is your grandson?

Ines, take care of yourself and your neck—get well soon! I’m really curious about your “Krawallkuchen”—why is it called that?

How cute, Christina! Paula the penguin is clearly feeling right at home with you. :) And the dishcloths look great, too.
Thanks for the feedback on the wrist warmers. It’s just one, actually—it might look like more than it is. I took photos of it from all angles so you can see the different variations.

Oh Monika, I thought they were 2 pairs too, since they have different patterns - haha. Your wrist warmers will definitely turn out great. And they'll certainly be nice and warm, since they're double-stitched.

Wollbaerli, my grandson will be 7 in February. Your lady penguin has turned out really pretty. The ear warmers are funny.

I just finished another January project. A unicorn. A gift from Anton for one of his preschool teachers. She does so much for the kids while they’re at home. On Monday, we’re picking up a craft bag for Anton 😍

When I count, I see 15 rows. Is the wrong side row not visible, or is it just me? Is the wrong side row really small? I like your colors

After just one day, there’s already so much new to marvel at.

Petra, I’m not familiar with your “Among” either. But you definitely pulled it off perfectly. The muffins look really delicious, too.

Monika, your wrist warmer looks beautiful. The hat for Sternchen must be almost finished by now. It’s coming along really fast.  The 80-stitch pattern is knitted just as usual, following the instructions. You simply have fewer stitches in the middle, which makes it shorter.

Christina, Paula the penguin looks funny with her ear muffs, and I like the dish towels, too.

Sandra, you did a great job on the unicorn. The teacher will definitely be very happy with it.

Andrea, your blanket for Krümel looks really nice; the colors match her clothes perfectly.
Just a quick note about the hat—I used the side for the bottom that was specified in the pattern. You used the other one. Both versions look good; in this case, it really doesn’t matter which side you use.

Ruth, the temperature blanket has turned out to be quite colorful for January; it definitely looks pretty already.

I almost forgot—I have one more little thing to show you. I got to test-crochet the diaper for Monika
.

Petra, the wrist warmers are really cozy and warm. I’m already looking forward to wearing them. But first, I need to finish the “Devil’s Hat” for Sternchen. It has to be done today.

Sandra, your unicorn is absolutely adorable and is sure to be a delightful surprise for Anton’s teacher. Bringing joy with such special “little things” is something special and is desperately needed right now.

Oh my goodness, Andrea, Krümel looks so cute with that blanket and the pretty hat. It all goes together perfectly.

Ruth, your temperature blanket is already looking really pretty. Will you be adding some red or yellow tones later? I’m sure you’ll keep us posted.

Now I wish you all a wonderful Sunday! The sun is shining here, and everything is dusted with a little white frost. So beautiful!

Marion, your diaper looks really cute.  Thanks for testing the pattern!

I was getting really frustrated with the hat last night. I couldn’t quite figure out the pattern at the beginning—I was totally lost—and had to unravel it again after a few centimeters. But then I finally understood the technique behind it. And now there are just a few rows left. I’ll be able to show it to you tomorrow. Sternchen is already looking forward to it.

Monika , and I thought I was just having some initial trouble with the pattern. That puts my mind at ease. Well then, let those needles fly—I’m excited to see what you come up with.

Have a lovely Sunday!

Petra, there are already 31 rows. The right side rows are set back a bit, like in a ribbed pattern. The front and back look the same in the pattern. But if you only have one row of a color, you can almost only tell on one side.
Right now, the blanket is exactly 15 cm long. So it will be about 180 cm by the end of the year.
Monika, I really hope that yellow, orange, and shades of red will be added. January was just pretty cold here. I was tempted a few times to cheat a little with the colors, but of course that’s out of the question! Then the whole point of the temperature blanket would be lost.

Good evening, everyone,

You’ve all been so hard at work! Such beautiful things have been created everywhere.

Dear Andrea, the new little dwarf hat for your little one turned out beautifully. It’s absolutely adorable, and it looks great on your doll, too. It’s wonderful that you’ve discovered knitting for yourself. It opens up new possibilities and isn’t as strenuous.

The blanket turned out beautifully, too! Just right—the pastel colors, the pattern, and the size. It’s perfect for your little one. All that work was worth it. It turned out really lovely, and you photographed it beautifully as well.

Dear Monika , your wrist warmers already look just as professional as Sonja’s. You’re really good at this now, and you’re so fast, too. It just goes to show that practice pays off. And it’s wonderful that the DB is now inspiring you to create your own pieces. You’re always learning, and your creativity grows alongside your skills.

Dear Petra, that artist picture made me smile. That’s how kids are. You think they’re not interested in crafts, but when Grandma can make such cool things, that’s a whole different story. Suddenly, they start coming up with more and more ideas for things that no other kid has and that only Grandma can crochet or knit.

Dear Ines , I know all about neck pain from overusing one side. Nope, that’s no fun. But it goes away again, and it’s a warning sign that we should always make sure to distribute the load evenly on both sides. You should probably just take a break—very hard, I know.

Dear Christina, Paula the penguin with her earmuffs to keep out the cold is so cute! How big is the figure, and who did you crochet it for? The dishcloths are practical, of course—you can always use them.

Dear Sandra , that unicorn is soooo cute. Anton’s preschool teacher is so lucky to receive a gift like that. I bet all the teachers would love to have your Anton in their group now. You put so much work into it, and it’s such a personal, loving gift. She’ll still have that unicorn when she retires.

Dear Ruth , your temperature blanket is looking great already. It’s already warmer where you are, as we can see. I was thinking of crocheting one row in a contrasting color after each month. And then I went ahead and measured it: 15 cm x 12 months = 180 cm.

Dear Marion, the little test-crocheted diaper is very cute and will surely be happily worn. Those are lovely, cheerful colors, too. Almost too nice to be just for dolls.

*******************
I finished the cover for my exercise ball today. It consists of two halves (hemispheres) that I sewed together flat.

I hope everyone has a lovely Sunday evening.

Best wishes from Ina

Wow, Ina, you finished your crocheted seat ball super fast! It looks great! I’m sure you’d much rather sit on it now. What do you actually do when it needs to be washed?
The colors of your temperature blanket are simply magnificent. I really love bright colors like that. The idea of using a contrasting color is really nice ... I’m curious to see what it’ll look like after a few months.

Ruth, I’m also curious to see how your blanket progresses. Let’s see when the colors start shifting toward red. It’s supposed to get up to 10 degrees here next week. And you don’t even live that far away from me.

I’ll have something new to show you by tomorrow. Have a nice evening, everyone.

Andrea and Monika, you’ve definitely got me hooked on the “Devil’s Hat” craze: Tomorrow, in daylight, Laura will show you my creation. The pattern is actually—to put it mildly—a bit tricky to follow (it wasn’t until I saw the picture that I understood what was meant), and I’m definitely lost when it comes to the shoes—luckily, I can look them up elsewhere. I always think it’s a shame when lovely patterns are presented poorly.

Good morning,

There was certainly a lot going on here over the weekend :), there is so much to see

Wollbaerli  Christina, your penguin looks so cute, and I also think the dishcloths are lovely. I had been wanting to make some for myself too; I’ll save that for summer, when I’m sitting in the garden and doing crafts :)

Andrea,Your Kruemel has it nice with his pretty blanket and the lovely things. Oh, if only I had more time to finally sort out my dolls. I’d like to introduce them sometime too, but that will happen eventually. Yes, the hat looks so pretty, and when I read this here about the pattern (I have it on my wish list too), I’ll surely have to ask you all for help then, lol

Sandra, I also think your unicorn is absolutely adorable, very beautiful, and it will surely be very well received as a gift

Monika, you are so fast, and the wrist warmers turned out beautifully. They will surely keep you nice and warm with double-face knitting. I’m very confident that your own designs will be appearing soon, because at some point you surely have to try things out for yourself.

Marion, the diaper cover turned out just as well for you as Monika’s own, great that you were allowed to test crochet it.

Ruth and Ina Your temperature blankets both look very good so far. I decided on a rug, of course with different colors that fit a rug and the apartment better. I thought long and hard about whether it would even be doable, because it’s supposed to be round. Now yesterday I first sorted the yarn and assigned it to the temperatures, of course only in a box for the moment because of the lack of space :) and I’m determining the average temperatures for every 2 weeks in the month, so I’ll work 2 rounds per month

we’ll see what comes out in the end.

Ina your ball is already finished too. Oh, that must be more comfortable now, when it warms a little in winter and in summer you don’t get up together with the ball.....I was already wondering last time whether you would make 2 pieces, because doing it in one piece would have been a really neck-breaking exercise.

Thank you for your wishes about my neck. I think I really did overdo it a bit last week, but....I am so fed up with the construction site and am driving everyone here on. On Saturday my daughter was here, and after 40 minutes of yoga I felt a little better mentally and neck-wise. Besides her job as a pediatric nurse, she also works at the gym as a course instructor, and at the moment everything is closed, and I do miss that.
By the way, they all thought the cake was very good; here’s the link
Krawallkuchen

and finally, here’s a picture of the start of my Easter basket; it hasn’t become much yet

Now I wish you all a good start to the 1st week of February
Best wishes, Ines

Dear Ines, that glimpse of the Easter basket has me curious to see more. Is it lined on the inside?
Your assortment of yarns looks like they can’t wait to be put to use. Two rounds a month—I imagine that’s even harder than just one row a day. We’re programmed to want to make quick progress, so we always have to be patient and slow ourselves down. That’s still a bit unusual for me, but it’s also a challenge. We’re excited to see your rug, but with just one round every two weeks, we’ll have to be patient with your project, too.

It’s great that you can do yoga with your daughter. She’s the pro and knows what she’s doing, so you’re getting proper guidance. Plus, any time spent with your child is good for you—it’s always balm for the soul. And soon the construction will be finished. Then you’ll have a beautiful new bathroom, and today’s aches and pains will be quickly forgotten. Ommmmmmm....

I made the cover for my exercise ball in two identical pieces. That worked out really well, and I was able to use up all kinds of leftover yarn. It took a total of 2.5 kg, but now I’m sitting comfortably cushioned—soft and cozy.

At first, I briefly considered sewing in a zipper when joining the two halves together. But personally, I don’t need one because it’s in my room, which has carpet. If I want to wash the cover, I’ll just have to open the seam halfway to get the ball out—and sew it back up again after washing. That wouldn’t be a problem for me.

If I were making the ball cover for someone else, though, I would include a zipper.

I wish you all a sunny first day of February.
Warm regards—Ina

Oh, Ina, doing yoga with my daughter isn’t that easy—she’s very strict and said I was “reinventing poses” :), but I wouldn’t do it on my own without her motivation; otherwise, I’d just get on the treadmill at home and give it my all for 30 minutes, but unfortunately, that’s too monotonous for the body.

The basket is crocheted in two layers—one on the outside around my empty gummy bear jar, and one on the inside in green to look like grass :) I hope to make a little more progress tonight.
As for the rug, I only want it to be about 100 cm in diameter, and I’ve figured it out with a few sample rounds—two rounds a month will be more than enough. We’ll see how it goes once I start, because it’s just like you say: you always want to finish everything quickly, and I’m really curious to see if I can handle it. Impatience should be my middle name.

Oh, the yarn stash has shrunk quite a bit—I wouldn’t have thought it would take so much yarn to knit or crochet a cover like this...

Best regards, Ines

Ina, sunny—what’s that all about again? It’s only raining once here today, and the last few measly patches of snow will soon be gone. We’re currently on winter break, and temperatures are forecast to reach up to 15° with the snow line at nearly 2000m! I’m glad to be sitting at home in the shelter (in the dry), with plenty of yarn and almost as many projects. This morning, though, I first had to descale the coffee maker, and I still have some paperwork to do.
By the way, your exercise ball cover turned out really nice! How many stitches did you have at the “equator” in the round?
And did you crochet in spirals or closed rounds?

Ines, I’m slowly starting to feel like making a “temperature project” myself. You’re all really making me want to try it. I could especially imagine making your round version. I’m really looking forward to seeing it, because I really like your colors. Two rounds a month—wow, even one round a week would probably be too little for me. A real test of patience. Next year, I’ll probably join in with my temperature blanket (or whatever it ends up being). Somehow, your enthusiasm is really contagious. ;-)
Your Easter basket looks like it’s going to be really cute. Will you tell us what it’s going to be? A bunny? I’m curious.
Your Krawallkuchen sounds interesting and is sure to be delicious. But I think it might be a little too “rich” for me. We haven’t eaten regular sugar or cookies in a while, no milk, and only small amounts of fat.
You’re really lucky that your daughter can help you with yoga. The pain will actually soon be forgotten when starting your day in a beautiful bathroom already puts you in a good mood.

Christina, I didn’t mean to put it that harshly, but it really reassures me that I’m not the only one who didn’t quite understand the pattern for the Devil’s Hat.

And now I can show you the result. I finished it last night, and Sternchen is very happy with her new clothes. Now our triplets all have the same hat.

And I’ve also made progress on the raglan sweater for Sternchen. The raglan section at the top is now finished.

The fact that I’m working so quickly is probably thanks to the encouragement from all of you here. It’s just fun to be able to show something.

Oh no, that autocorrect! Of course, it was supposed to say little hats! The one time I didn’t proofread, and there it was: Mützchen became Mätzchen, and spiral rounds became hospital rounds…

Funny typos ;-)

Monika and Christina - the little gnome hats for your dolls look very nice and make them even cuter. Now the triplets really do all have the same little hats. Very pretty.

Christina,
at the equator my two halves each had 163 stitches. I crocheted with 8 strands of sock yarn and a size 8 hook, so you make quick progress. You just have to put the 8 strands into glasses so they don’t get tangled. Of course, fewer but thicker yarns would have worked too, but the leftover sock yarn had to be used up sometime.

Ines, I think it’s wonderful that your daughter watches your yoga exercises so critically. That’s her job. She’s programmed to make sure people do things correctly - so she probably won’t make an exception for her mother. And it stretches so nicely in all directions. I’d love to have a daughter who also does yoga with me. What a lovely personal luxury! But in return, you crochet lovely things for her :-)

I hope you all have a lovely afternoon.
Best wishes, Ina

I wish you all a lovely afternoon,

I didn’t check in for one day, and there’s so much to admire. You’re full of anticipation about what new things there will be again today.
Honestly, I was so excited to see the hat from Monika’s little star. It looks so pretty. It fits perfectly, without needing to fold it up again at the front.

Ina, your ball cover looks nice and colorful and great. A real eye-catcher in your conservatory corner. Couldn’t the two halves also be closed with some Velcro? Or would that not hold if you sit on it?

Wollbaerli, your hat turned out very beautiful too. Great.

I’m just imagining all our babies wearing this hat, sitting in a row next to each other, all beautifully colorful.
Now they all still need a sweater, shoes, and pants.
My other doll, "Susi", is still waiting for pants too.
Unfortunately I didn’t get anything done today. A rest day, so to speak. Tomorrow I’ll continue.

Wishing you all a lovely evening

Oh, Christina , your Laura is absolutely adorable. :-) I’m instantly head over heels in love. I’d adopt her in a heartbeat. She looks just like a real baby. I had to look twice. You can also introduce her to us in the doll thread. I’m sure she’ll feel right at home there.

Wishing you all a creative and cozy rest of your Monday.

Andrea , I stopped knitting the hat a little earlier than planned, which is why it fits so well. I ran out of yarn and didn’t have any matching yarn to continue with. I also didn’t knit the bottom edge; instead, I pulled the cord through the stitches. That worked great, and the hat fits perfectly now.

Soon, my little one will get a cute little dress. She needs some new spring clothes.

Phew, after just one day you can’t keep up here anymore.

The ball by Ina is already finished too and looks so great. I think I’m actually going to make one too. My ball is pink, and I don’t like that at all.

Ines, I hope you feel better soon; your Easter basket is sure to turn out beautifully again. Your cake recipe sounds good. But with that much fat, it can only be a once-a-year treat.

Monika, the hat for Sternchen has great colors; I really like it. As expected, you finished it very quickly. You picked out some lovely scraps for the new sweater.

Christina, you were quick too. I really like Laura’s hat in that color as well.

I took another photo for you all.  Our triplets:

Suddenly there are four of them.

I don’t have anything to show yet.

Here’s a photo from the front as well.

Hello on this Monday evening,

So, you 4 doll moms, that is a wonderful collage by Marion; it’s really nice to look at.
I read through the pattern today and hmm, who knows whether I’ll manage it, well, I’ll just turn to you then, haha.

Monika the Easter basket is surrounded by a bunny. I did bring my craft basket over, but I think I’m losing my motivation right now, since I still have to organize something for the bathroom. Even though we bought everything beforehand, something is still missing, and that can only be done online.

Yes, the cake, my dears, is definitely delicious, but I don’t need it every day either—too rich, and I would have liked to replace some ingredients with others.

Now have a lovely evening

Marlene, your shawl has beautiful colors and a truly fantastic pattern.

Ines, I’m sure you’ll feel like working on your bunny basket again soon. You’ll definitely have it finished by Easter. Go ahead and take a break every now and then—you’ve really earned it. I can totally imagine how happy you’ll be when your construction site finally turns into a pretty new bathroom.

I wish you all a wonderful day.

I’m going to finish knitting the last few rows of the second cuff now. :)

Good morning, everyone

I hope you’re having nicer weather than we are here—it’s been raining nonstop for two days now, and our little river is slowly starting to overflow; the flooding is everywhere again.......

I needed a little something to work on right now—without a camera, sketches, a notebook, or a pen—so I tried Tunisian crochet with some colors. You can always use pot holders, so I made this one one evening

My Easter basket has only grown a little bit, but I’ll get back to it in the next few days—I’ve had my hands full with organizing, dealing with problems, and so on.... Well, better times are coming soon, and I don’t want to complain

How’s your crafting going?

Have a wonderful day
Warm regards, Ines

Ines, those are exactly my colors—I love them together. :) The pot holders would definitely be a hit if you wrote a tutorial for them. They look really great. Tunisian crochet projects are just beautiful with their patterns.

Monika, I’d be taking credit for someone else’s work if I wrote a tutorial, since there are plenty of videos on YouTube, but there’s something special about this technique—they’re also nice and dense—so I’ll probably make a few more.

Marlene, your shawl has really grown quite a bit by now; you’ll definitely be busy with it for a while yet.

Ines, it’s true, Tunisian crocheted potholders are nice and dense. I’ve made some too. Your potholder has lovely colors. Was this your first time crocheting entrelac?

Today is the first dry day we’ve had since Monday. The sun is shining and I was in the garden this morning.
I transplanted a few snowdrops there. Next month our patio is being redone, so unfortunately they have to go. So I haven’t had any time for crafting yet. This afternoon I’m dog-sitting, so I won’t get anything done then either, but I’m looking forward to going for a walk in this lovely weather.

Hmm, Marion, this is my first attempt at something like this.
I also really enjoy going out with our dog—it always helps me unwind because I’m usually so restless. Today she had to wait a bit; we had heavy rain, but now the sun is shining—it’s such a mix of weather here right now.
Great—the perfect time to build a patio, so you can enjoy the summer there. And luckily, the craft projects aren’t going anywhere—I know all about that with our bathroom renovation. In an old house, unplanned work sometimes pops up, but I think everything will be finished in 2–3 weeks, and then the gardening will start up too.

Oh oh Ines, that sounds like a lot of work on your end. But you have a positive outlook on life, and that’s the most important thing. How old is your house that’s keeping you so busy? Your potholders look good. You can make a nice roast and break them in. Then the house will smell wonderful, everyone will get something good to eat, and you’ll all regain some strength.

Marlene, your shawl is growing too, and it already gives a hint of how beautiful it will look in the end. Now the color rows are getting narrower and narrower, and the look is changing. That makes the knitting exciting.

I’m taking a break from crafting right now. Whenever I do too many things at the same time, it stresses me out, and then I make a clean break and do nothing at all. That way everything can sort itself out again, and I don’t feel so driven. For now I’m going to keep tidying up and stock the swap board with everything that has accumulated at my place and is looking for a new owner.

I wish you all a relaxing afternoon. Winter has come back here. But still, we’re heading toward spring. I hope the weather stays within reasonable limits where you are and doesn’t cause any damage. Here in Brandenburg, we’re happy about a lot of rain because we had such long periods of drought in recent years that everything dried up. We need the water that other places have too much of.

Best wishes - Ina

We just took a long walk in the sun with spring-like temperatures of 13 degrees. Oh, it’s so nice! We can slowly start looking forward to spring.

I also take little breaks every now and then—like last night, for example. I actually watched a movie again instead of just listening to it. ;-) My husband was happy that I paid more attention to him than to my needles and yarn for a change.

I have something to show you again now. Both wrist warmers are finished, and so is the new raglan sweater for Sternchen.

Good morning, everyone.....

Oh Monika. your little star really feels at home in the new sweater; I like the colors, the red makes the whole thing so cheerful. And honestly, I admire you—the wrist warmers differ from Sonja's original only in color; it's amazing how quickly that went for you, and the skills just flow from your hands all by themselves.
Yesterday I had to order something from a yarn shop online; luckily they still had the yarn, mine wasn't enough, and then I looked in Miscellaneous and what did I find there? This thimble that you use for DF, so I went ahead and ordered it too, now I'll already have it here :)

Ina, our house was built in 1904; it's a 3-story villa with that kind of red clinker brick, maybe you know what I mean, and my parents had to do a lot to it when they bought it in 1981. By now it has become a multigenerational house, everything is pretty much in good shape, but still, to be on the safe side, the entire water line has to be checked, because next week everything will be built in and tiled, so it's better to put in a little extra effort beforehand.
But my positive outlook on life took a bit of a nosedive at first; I just want to be finished now, because in my opinion everything is just dusty everywhere.

I think crafting breaks have to happen; I had also started way too much all at once, then I worked through it and now I always finish what I started first, at least that's the plan.
I had to rethink my rug calculation again: to get to 104 rounds, I do have to crochet 2 rounds per week, so now my sheet with the temperature notes is getting bigger again after all. I'll start this project once the renovation here is taken care of.
My husband has now asked for a policeman for his desk, so I'm currently sketching the design.

Now I wish you all a lovely day
Best regards, Ines

Thank you, Ines and Petra, for your feedback.
Yes, my little star really does look adorable with that sweater. Now I’m using this yarn and a few leftover bits of red to knit a smaller one for a teddy bear. The top is finished, and the body is almost done too. That was the result from last night. Now I just need to work on the arms.

Have a wonderful day, everyone, and let your creativity shine!

Warm regards from Monika

You’ve made some really great things again!

Ines, I admire how you still find time for crafts with everything you’ve got on your plate right now. The pot holder turned out very pretty. I’d like to try the entrelac technique myself someday.

Monika, you’re as tireless as ever. You just finished the wrist warmers, then your little star is getting a new hat and a sweater, and before you know it, you’re already working on a sweater for a teddy bear! Your dolls and teddy bears are really doing well!

Sandra, your dragon turned out very cute. I really like the shades of blue.

Things are moving a bit more slowly for me. I’m juggling my temperature blanket, the loop scarf, and the embroidered picture for my grandchild—all long-term projects that really do slow you down. But today I finally finished another pattern: May I introduce:
The Goose Family!
My grandchildren wanted to snatch them right away, but I had to take some photos first.

Well, now I wish everyone a lovely, peaceful weekend. It’s cloudy here, but still relatively warm. I think it looks worse up north.

Oh Ruth, these are so cute—I can totally believe that your grandchildren wanted to take the little geese for a walk; each one is made with so much love.
I’m taking a break from the renovation for today, so my knitting needles will be clacking away in a moment.

Right now, I’m looking out the window with some trepidation—it’s snowing and the temperatures are dropping rapidly. Our daughter has to work the night shift today; I hope the roads don’t get icy.

Have a cozy weekend, everyone!

Monika , your little star really shines in his new sweater—and it has such beautiful, vibrant colors, too. Your red-and-white wrist warmers look so lovely as well.

Sandra , your dragon turned out so beautifully again—I really like the blue. Is it for Anton?

Ruth , your family of geese is so cute. No wonder your grandchildren wanted to take them home right away.

Ines , when I think about the weather, I’m glad I live in the south. Hopefully it won’t be quite as bad where you are as they’re predicting.

I wish you all a relaxing weekend.

Good afternoon

There’s a lot going on here again. You only miss one day, and so much happens. So I don’t forget anyone, a big shout-out to everyone 🤗😍 great

I’ve got something to show again too. I found this while tidying up: my teddy has a jacket now. It was originally for another amigurumi.

Sandra, what a cute little dragon—again! The colors look great, too. :) Do you already know who’s getting it?

Ruth, you’re tireless with your little ideas and turning them into patterns. That takes me much longer. Your family of geese is absolutely adorable. I can totally understand why your grandchildren are so into them.

Andrea, your sunflower child is very cute, and the jacket really suits the teddy bear. The blanket looks amazing. A lovely little project to work on in between other things.

Weather-wise, I’m also glad to live in the south. Heavy snowfall is forecast for the rest of Germany. Hopefully it won’t be too bad.

So, and the sweater for the smaller teddy, Fy..., is now finished too. Here he is, sitting with Sternchen for the photo.

I just had to grab my phone again :)
And here you all are showing off such great things again...
Sandra, I totally missed that little dragon earlier—it’s so cute, and I’m sure it’ll find a new friend, right?

Andrea, you’ve been so busy—that table runner is beautiful; I really like the colors, and of course the adorable sunflower child—and the teddy bear in the little jacket is lovely as always.

Monika, your two look like they’re really comfortable sitting there together.

I finished my Easter basket today—I’ll post a photo tomorrow or the day after; I always prefer to take photos in daylight.
Well, I’ll wait and see about the weather—maybe we’ll get lucky and not get hit by everything, since this weather front ends right here on our map.

So now I’m going to work on a little craft project—have a lovely evening again!

Thank you, the dragon is going into the closet with the other dragons for now. And when Anton’s friend has a birthday, Anton can pick one and give the other one away.

Andrea: your sunflower child is really cute.
I also think the jacket looks good on the teddy bear.
I’ve already taken a look at the table runner too. It looks great as well.

Monika: the matching outfits on the two of them look great.

Sandra, your dragon turned out great. I’m sure Anton was really happy to see it.

The duck family is adorable. Especially the one with glasses—brilliant

The flower child is spreading springtime cheer… as far as I’m concerned, spring can come now.

Monika, I love your raglan sweater. Many years ago, I knitted a jacket starting from the top. I really enjoyed that. The pattern was from a book, and I was very curious to try knitting it. Maybe I’ll try my hand at a sweater sometime.

Good morning, everyone, from the deeply snow-covered Leipzig countryside....

We just finished shoveling snow; we’ve been at it since 8:00 a.m., and it’s still snowing—chaos everywhere :)

But there are some great things to admire here again

Monika, you’re already hard at work test-knitting again, surely for Easter, but I can’t quite figure out exactly what it is yet, so I’ll just let myself be surprised.

Sandra, the egg cups are so cute, and they don’t give away right away that an egg is hidden there—very nice.

Petra, I think the baby clothes are beautiful too; I always love it when young moms still dress their children in things like that. My friend, who is already a grandma, put a lot of work into them, but it wasn’t appreciated; her daughter-in-law didn’t accept them, which was such a shame after all that effort.

I have something to show you again too; I finally finished it over the weekend, and it’s going into my chest with all the other things I’ll need as gifts someday.

There are quite a few new additions here again.

Andrea, it looks like you’ve come back from your break. The Sunflower Child is cute, and the vest looks great on the teddy bear. Your doily has beautiful colors, and I really like it. I crocheted one like that in shades of orange, just following the picture. I actually want to crochet a bigger one in green for myself, but not just yet.
The new blanket for Krümel looks pretty, too. You can often make beautiful things even with yarn you don’t like.

Monika, your sample piece is growing fast. Is that going to be a bag? Mine has grown, too.

Sandra, your egg cups look funny.

Petra, the mom-to-be will definitely be happy to receive such a lovely gift. The raglan jacket looks nice, too.

Ines, the Easter basket turned out beautifully. The bunny will surely be even happier once the basket is filled.

Hopefully you won’t get sore muscles from having to shovel so much snow.

Sandra , your egg cups are absolutely adorable. Did you design them yourself?

Petra , your blanket and those little booties look so cozy—little Kira will definitely never be cold. I love this pattern, too. And that color combination would be right up my alley.
Your raglan jacket looks really pretty. Yeah, I love raglan too—actually, it’s my favorite because it’s so easy to knit and has no seams. And it’s simple, too.

Ines , your bunny is super cute! Just the kind you want to cuddle. Especially because it looks so sad. I think you did an amazing job with it.
Oh, I’m so glad my daughter-in-law is always happy to receive something knitted. It’s always gratefully accepted. I’d be really sad too if it were turned down. There’s always so much love and work that goes into it. But I’m sure there’s someone among your friends or acquaintances who’d be thrilled to have it.
Well then, I wish you all happy snow shoveling. It starts tomorrow here, but probably not as intense as it is where you are.

Andrea , you’ve crocheted such a pretty blanket for Krümel—and the matching pillow to go with it. I love these kinds of colorful leftover projects. I’ve actually been thinking about how to use up these little scraps now. Sternchen already has two sleeping bags, though. But pillowcases and blankets can always come in handy.

Have a wonderful day, everyone—with or without snow. :)

Warm regards from Monika

Marion, looks like we were writing at the same time. :)
You guessed it. It’s going to be a little bag for Easter. Sonja will probably show hers here first. Mine isn’t coming along quite as fast because I have to be careful with the pattern. It’s not something you can just do on the side—it takes time.

I’m really looking forward to seeing your swatch, especially the color choices. It just occurred to me that this pattern would also work well for crocheting a pillow or a blanket.... I hadn’t even thought about that yet.

Hello, you busy bees,

I hope the snow/snowstorm was manageable where you are and that you were able to get cozy with your crafts in the warm living room. Probably so, because otherwise there wouldn’t be so many beautiful works of art.

Monika, your new DB wrist warmers turned out very beautifully. They look very professionally knitted. Now you really can do it! And you’re even having fun with it too. The little sweater for your little star is also lovely to look at. But that’s surely just for fun and no longer a challenge—given how many raglan sweaters you’ve already knitted. Your dolls and bears have it good with you.

The new DB project looks exciting too. Of course I recognize an Easter egg with a pattern. It will surely be an Easter basket. Sonja is lucky to have such an enthusiastic test knitter.

Ines, your “family villa” is from 1904, so it’s already over 100 years old. What stories it could tell, but of course it’s also becoming run-down in some places and needs skilled and caring hands. It’s lovely that you have 3 floors, and each generation can spread out undisturbed, and when needed you’re together. On your recommendation, I watched that one crime show that was set in your area. Yes, you really do live in a very beautiful landscape. The brick-clad villa fits in well there.
But I also understand that the construction work needs to be finished soon; building and dirt are not really your thing. But it won’t be much longer, then you’ll be able to live in a more beautiful and modern home—and you can give all your attention to crafts again.

Your Easter bunny basket is absolutely enchanting. The way he looks up shyly from below and hopes for kind gifts for his basket. And those big feet—this is really lovely and full of atmosphere. We’ll see who gets the special Easter basket later.

Sandra, I always love admiring your creations. There is so much work and love for detail in them. The little dragon looks fantastic with his wings, and he looks right at you :-) We’ll see which dragon stays with Anton and which one with his friend.

Your Easter egg cups are very cute and, as always, full of lovely details. There’s something to look at when they’re on the breakfast table. And each one is different, so everyone quickly has their favorite egg cozy. Those two are already very beautiful; I’m looking forward to the next ones.

Ruth, I am head over heels in love with your goose family. What an enchanting still life. Father, mother, and 3 children. The gander with the men’s hat and glasses, his wife wearing a ladies’ hat, and every little gosling different, the middle one with the little tuft of hair and freshly hatched from the egg. I can well understand that your grandchildren wanted to take them along right away. They’re really great to play with. Ah, you make such beautiful things—and so beautifully photographed too.

Andrea, I still remember your little crocheted teddy from your “group photo.” It’s nice that he now has his own jacket. And the sunflower child also turned out very cute. You were sooo busy, which means that since the items are crocheted, your hand is okay again. Otherwise you wouldn’t have been able to crochet the beautiful table runner as well. How big is it? What happened to your jacket, the one with the gradient yarn where you almost ran out of the color at the end?

And another colorful little blanket made from scraps was created for Krümel. A very nice way to use up leftovers. Did you make 4 strips and then crochet them together? That would explain the interesting patterns.

Petra,
this is a wonderfully warm and soft welcome package for little Kira. I also like the understated colors here; they make it look very modern. The textured pattern is also very appealing.

Your little raglan cardigan looks very nice with the thick cables on the arms. It’s nice that you took a picture of it back then. That way we can all enjoy it. I like raglan knitting too. You just have to do a lot of calculating beforehand so it fits in the end.

********************
I’m still in my “rest phase” because of too many projects at the same time. In the evenings on the couch, though, I actually tried double-face knitting. I bought myself a metal knitting thimble with two eyelets on it for two colors. Then I put on a YouTube video and cast on stitches. And knitted two rows. Well, in the end I have to say it’s quite laborious and unfortunately, ultimately, not for me. My fingers simply don’t move in a way that lets me keep good tension on both strands. I’m sure it would get better with a lot of practice, but unfortunately the spark just didn’t catch for me. Now that I know how hard it is, because it really is a special technique that you have to practice, I admire all the more everyone who can do it.

I wish you all a lovely day without too much snow and ice chaos.

Best wishes from Ina

Oops....so you noticed—the basket is still empty, and of course the little bunny is looking for it, a bit puzzled....once it’s filled, its head will be a little more upright....I haven’t had any cravings for Easter treats yet, even though the shelves have been full of them since early January.

Ina,  yes, there’s always something to do, even though my parents laid a solid foundation right after the purchase. I think they put a lot of energy and effort into the old lady, so they should also get to see how much we appreciate her.
You’re probably referring to the “Ranger” movie—yes, it’s very beautiful there, and it’s a 40-minute drive for me.......well, if I’m not mistaken, you’re from the Brandenburg area? That has plenty of beautiful spots, too.

@ all, you’re all hard at work again, and I don’t even know whom to pick as my favorite—no, everything is wonderful.

I wish you all a wonderful Monday afternoon

Ina, thanks for your feedback! :)
As I mentioned before, the new double-face project will be a cute little bag for Easter. Yes, it’s true—learning and practicing can be a bit tedious. But when I think about how we all felt the same way at the beginning when we were learning to knit… and now we’re pretty fast at it. I don’t always have that much patience, but I just like the double-face results so much that I stuck with it. The double-knitted hat and the wrist warmers make all the effort worth it. They’re so nice and warm. I really enjoy them.

As for raglan, I always thought it was complicated to figure out. That might be true for larger items. But for smaller ones for dolls and babies, it’s really easy once you get the hang of it.

I wish everyone here a lovely afternoon,

now I can finally give a detailed update again. It’s so hard to do this on my tablet—I usually just use it to upload my photos.

First of all, thank you so much—and you’ve all been so hard at work again.
Some lovely creations have come together here once more.
Easter is just around the corner, and you’re already busy crocheting and knitting your Easter decorations.
The chick family turned out so cute, with the little ones and their little hats.
I really like these egg cups, too—they’re a pretty eye-catcher.

Monika’s DF test knit piece already looks great. Maybe it’ll be an Easter gift bag? I’m curious to see how it turns out.
Your little star and the teddy bear in matching outfits are so cute

I’ve been wanting to crochet a dragon myself. For me, everything has to be one size smaller, and I need a looooooot of time. My list is sooooo long, but with my “yarn diet” leftovers, I can only tackle small projects. The color selection isn’t that big anymore.

Ina, you wanted to know how I crocheted the little blanket. It’s all crocheted on—nothing sewn. Crocheted all in one go.
I’d finish one stripe, then start the new color and keep crocheting in the c2c pattern. I found a video online that explained the joining process really well, and it works great. When I reached the end of a row (i.e., the edge of the blanket), I used to always make slip stitches; now I chain 3 to end up at the end of a “square,” make 1 slip stitch, and continue crocheting as usual.
I’m always bad at explaining things.
If I’m crocheting up the stripe now and want to join the second stripe to the first, I finish the “square” at the end of the round, then make a slip stitch on the first stripe (into the space between two squares),  then 3 ch, and go up into the next space between both squares, make 1 sl st, turn, and 3 ch, then finish the square with 3 dc, etc. It’s hard to follow me. I know, but it works once you get the hang of it, and it looks neater in the stitch pattern.

My tunic is on hold for now. I don’t really have a plan for how to continue crocheting it. Somehow, the tunic is a little too wide for me. Maybe I’ll just keep crocheting it like this and give it to my mom when it’s finished, if it fits her.

My granny square doily is about 56 x 24 cm.

That’s all from me for now.
I hope you guys aren’t too snowed in. It sounds like there’s a lot going on over there—total chaos. You have more snow right now than we do.
We know that feeling all too well.

Best wishes, Andrea

So, my dears, I just baked my Herb Bobbel Bread—if you’d like the recipe, you can find it in the Bakery :)

And I want to show you my storage basket, which I finished last night.

Now the grill is waiting for me—my dad had the idea to just fire it up, so we’ll be having bratwurst with the Bobbel Brot.

Nice, Ines. I just stopped by the “bakery.” Your storage basket looks really pretty. Did you use a specific jar for that? I like the shape.

Andrea, thank you! Yes, it’s one of those scented candle jars where you blow out the candle when you put the lid on. I really liked the shape, too, so I saved it and crocheted around it.

To everyone: So much has happened in such a short time—I can barely keep up; so many great things have been created! Today I gave a dishcloth—knitted in two colors from corner to corner with stitches worked into the row below—to a neighbor for her birthday, presented in a little box I made myself (unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture), and I’m also working on a RVO baby doll sweater. The first test sock is finished; I’ll have to cast on the second one when Nala isn’t around. This afternoon I was back at school (wearing a mask, of course) and picked up dropped stitches and corrected forgotten edge stitches. Most of the students in this group got the hang of it surprisingly quickly, though.

Ines, you’re amazing! It’s incredible how much you get done. You just casually finished crocheting the bunny in between other things, and now you’ve made the storage basket—which, by the way, looks really cute again. And then there’s that delicious bread! Hmmm...

Christina, I’m already looking forward to seeing your doll’s baby sweater. :-)

@Ines, I really like your crocheted glass cover. I’ve always been hesitant to try this shape because I usually crochet with a base. Can you remove the crocheted cover to wash it? At the end of summer, I always like to wash out the pollen and everything else before putting it away for the winter.

I’m going to head over to the bakery section right now and check out the rolls.

Petra, this is crocheted with Biden too, then I doubled the initial 60 sts again at every 10th stitch and reduced back to 60 after 12 rows; I can take the cover off. It has to be done from time to time too, since I react to house dust and pollen.
Best wishes

Ines: The glass looks great.

I also finished another egg cup:
