Dear users, dear authors,
did you all have a smooth start to September?
What are you working on? Do we have (lots of) hard-working little helpers here?
Let me know.
yes, we’ve made it through just fine. The kids are back in school, and I’m back at work myself. Now everything is back to normal, and daily life is settling in—whether that’s such a good thing remains to be seen.
I’m working on two blankets. The long-term project for my daughter—I’ve already made it as far as the horse’s head.
And the second one was originally intended as a scrap blanket for my car, so the kids can sit nice and warm in the winter and cover up if necessary. But my aunt fell in love with this blanket right away, so I’m finishing it up for her for Christmas. Then I’ll start a new scrap blanket for the car so my kids don’t have to freeze.
September has gotten off to a good start. I’ve started working on a shawl, and I also need to keep working on my sensory blanket—it’s supposed to be handed over in October.
However, I have the dog staying with me again this week, so I won’t get much done. Then he’ll be back in two weeks, so I won’t get anything done then either.
But that’s okay—at least I’ll get more fresh air.
Today I’m heading to a birthday party, so I probably won’t get to be a busy little helper today.
I’ve had a good start to the month, too.
This morning I was hard at work in the front yard.
Of course, I’ll keep knitting away today, too! But only once everything else is done.
I’m back in September too. I still have a few summer projects to finish, but I’d also like to start on a soul warmer that suits our autumn temperatures well (currently 19 degrees). It works out nicely that the craft café starts again today - finally back after a two-month summer break. I’ll stock up on winter yarn there right away for the soul warmer and a matching scarf.
For me, the transition from August to September was seamless—I’m still working my way through the fruit from the garden; today I’ve already turned 2.4 liters of pear juice into delicious pear jelly. Next up are the plums :-) And if there’s still time, I’ll move on to the apples. The apple tree just won’t run out—even though I’ve already processed huge amounts and given away quite a few kilos to friends, acquaintances, and neighbors.
I’m barely getting any time for crafts right now; I hope things will pick up a bit over the next few days or weeks... I need to weave in ends, and I also wanted to take photos this week for the next set of patterns (which I still have to write)...
I’m still at work right now. This morning before work
, I crocheted the finishing edge (4 rows) of my sleeve and
unraveled it again during my break because it was too wide.
Later, I’ll be studying math and baking waffles—I promised
my girls I would.
Unfortunately, I haven’t crocheted anything at all today—instead, I went shopping, had a delicious meal, and worked out.
And the best part—I’ve been living here in my little town for almost a year now, where there’s absolutely nothing—not even a bakery—only to just happen to find out on Facebook that there’s a very popular yarn shop in the neighboring town (where there’s basically nothing either)!!
I think I can even see it from my window!!
And to think I just discovered a new shop 15 km away last month...
I love September with its mild temperatures. It makes outdoor activities really fun again… hiking, biking, and so on.
I have a few trips planned in the RV, including one to visit my granddaughter in Ravensburg. It’ll be a surprise when I give her the new kindergarten bag. :-)
I’m sure I’ll get plenty of knitting and crocheting done, since I’ll be using the time during the trips and my free time both before and while in the RV.
