Dear users, dear authors,
I’m dedicating this thread to all handcrafts that children / beginners can manage, as well as to all patterns that adults can make by hand to bring children joy.

@Authors,
2–3 patterns per author are enough.
Please don’t forget the link and image as well as the usual info.

This dishcloth (alternatively, it can also be used as a potholder) is also easy enough for children to manage, provided they can knit and purl. Nothing more is needed. And in thick cotton, it is also knitted up quickly and brings a quick sense of achievement.

The pattern can be found here.

Children who can crochet double crochet and chain stitches can also give this scarf a try. It’s crocheted with very thick yarn (for children’s necks, you may want to choose slightly thinner yarn and a smaller crochet hook than specified in the pattern) and is a lot of fun. The result is a scarf that looks like a centipede.

Here is the pattern.

And if you want to knit a children's hat for the colder season, this hat is also available in children's sizes. It is knitted from sock yarn, so it's more of a lightweight model. Please knit this hat yourself, or at most let little whiz kids have a go at it.

For babies and children sizes 50 to 104 - incl. measurement charts and basic knitting techniques

Baby traditional jacket OANS GLATT - OANS GNÄDLT - knitting pattern

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

A little translation from Bavarian:
Oans glatt = knit 1 stitch; oans Gnädlt = purl 1 stitch (comes from looking like a dumpling). But don’t worry, the knitting pattern is written in standard German - grin..

The pattern is worked out in detail for size 70, with options for adapting it to sizes 50 to 104.

It uses basic knitting techniques plus cabling, knitting stitches together, increasing stitches from the strand between stitches – everything is explained with pictures. Difficulty level: medium.

The download includes:

  • PDF knitting pattern with lots of pictures (29 pages) incl. short version for printing
  • PDF Knitting Basics – basic knitting techniques with pictures
  • PDF baby measurements for this traditional jacket model sizes 50 to 104

Material
:

150 g (size 104: possibly 200 g) 6-ply sock yarn, Regia Tweed, 70% virgin wool,
25% polyamide, 50 g – 125 m for needle size 3.0 to 4.0; plus 50 g denim blue; here knitting needles size 3.5; a stitch marker is helpful; cable needle, stitch holder or another knitting needle for holding the neck stitches, yarn needle for sewing in ends, scissors.

Sock-Knitting Course for 4-ply yarn - all sizes for baby, children’s, women’s, and men’s socks

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

Knitting socks (possibly with leftover sock yarn) is wonderfully easy to do - no matter where you are, and both little and big feet will be delighted with the results.

This is an illustrated sock-knitting course based on baby socks size 15, knitted from 4-ply sock yarn, with charts for all sizes

Included in the download :

  • Detailed main PDF pattern with lots of photos
  • handwritten sketches
  • baby sock chart for sizes 15 - 20
  • sock chart for sizes 22 - 47
Integrated into the main pattern is a short-form baby mitten pattern, since parts of the baby sock pattern can be used for it.

Required materials:
4-ply sock yarn (wonderfully soft options include, for example, Ferner “Lungauer Sockengarn” merino sock yarns, or Austermann “Step” with aloe vera and jojoba, or “Comfort” with cashmere)

  • approx. 15 g for the baby socks,
  • approx. 10 g for the baby mittens,
  • for adult socks up to size 44: 100 g,
  • if larger than size 44, then 150 g is required.
Set of double-pointed needles size 2.5, measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends.

The baby socks can also be embroidered, for example, and used in various ways - not just as baby socks - e.g. as “packaging” for cash gifts or sweets, as an Advent calendar, as a keychain, etc.

If you have cats at home, the kids would surely love to “make” a cat toy like this with you. It’s very simple, and there’s an activity for every age group. We roll all our leftover (wool) felting yarn into a ball, and the washing machine felts it into a toy ball for the cat. You can find exactly how to do it in my free pattern. I hope you, your children, and your cat have lots of fun with it.

I have something else FOR children, for all children. Because this small round rug fits in any child's room. Since we crochet with 3 strands of acrylic yarn, it is also quick and inexpensive to make.

Simply choose your child's favorite color and buy yourself 1 maxi skein of inexpensive acrylic yarn (e.g., G-B Big Wucht, yardage 1200 meters/400 g or
another yarn with the same yardage; costs approx. 8 - 10 euros), plus a
size 6 crochet hook, and off you go! The pattern is very well suited for crochet beginners . We crochet chain stitches, single crochet, double crochet, and slip stitches. My detailed step-by-step pattern guides you over 20 pages, round by round, to your dream rug. The
back is rubberized so that it does not slip. The rug measures
75 cm in diameter. A clear crochet chart is included.

Kids love making their own wristbands or anklets and then proudly showing off their creations to their friends.

This cute little anklet is quick to make. It’s a real eye-catcher on any ankle. The elastic cord makes it super comfortable to wear—lightweight and trendy. It also makes a great gift or little present.

If you make it a bit shorter, the anklet turns into a cute bracelet.

Detailed description as a PDF file with text and step-by-step photos.
Materials: Nylon cord, elastic cord (rubber cord), metal charm, jump ring
