Egg cozies are always a great way to use up leftover yarn - here’s a knitting pattern:

Last-Minute Egg Cozy BIGGI - quick and easy to knit

(For purchase/download, please click the image)

Fun egg cozies, not just for Easter! And an ideal way to use up leftover yarn.

Knitted quickly and easily in one evening in front of the TV, they make a last-minute little gift for any occasion.

Basic knitting skills are enough.
We knit in rounds with a set of double-pointed needles. Decorations are possible as desired and with your own creativity.

Materials:
Basically, any yarn can be used with a needle size slightly smaller than indicated on the ball band.

1 egg cozy: approx. 10 g – 15 g yarn/leftover yarn + small amounts of leftover yarn for decorating;
here: size 4.0 mm set of double-pointed needles and approx. 3.0 mm crochet hook for “knotting in hair”;
yarn needle for weaving in ends, sewing needle and buttons if needed, measuring tape, scissors.
Recommendation: safety eyes if the egg cozies are used as amigurumi for toddlers.

Included in the PDF download:

  • Short pattern in text form, written for yarns with approx. 105 m per 50 g
  • Step-by-step illustrated pattern, written for yarns with approx. 85 m per 50 g

each knitted with size 4.0 mm double-pointed needles (then the egg cozies will be nice and dense and stand up on their own)

  • Photo tutorial “Embroidering in duplicate stitch
  • Photo tutorial “Knotting in hair with a crochet hook
  • Separate PDF pattern for the “double cross cast-on

Happy Easter season!

If you prefer crocheting to knitting, then maybe these Easter bunny egg cozies are just right for you?
Even without eggs underneath, they make a pretty decoration for the breakfast table. Here, too, a few scraps of leftover yarn and basic crochet skills are enough.
You can find the pattern here !

No beautifully decorated breakfast table is complete without egg cozies… how about a unicorn egg cozy?

>>> to the pattern <<<

These unicorn egg cozies are quick to crochet using a few leftover yarn . The richly illustrated pattern (over 60 photos) explains in detail how you—even as a beginner —can crochet these egg cozies. However, you should have basic crochet skills.

You’ll need:
  • Cotton yarn (115 m/50 g)
white, approx. 5–10 g (for the body and head)
colorful scraps for the mane, tail, and decorations
  • some stuffing for the head
  • a little black embroidery thread for embroidering the eyes
  • crochet hooks, sizes 2.5 and 2.0
  • stitch markers (or yarn scraps, paper clips, etc.)
  • sewing needle/embroidery needle

You should know how to:
  • Magic ring
  • chain stitches
  • single crochet, including increases, decreases, and color changes
  • double crochet
  • slip stitches

The Easter bunny and chicks aren’t just beautiful Easter decorations - they also hide a little surprise in their tummies, as they’re crocheted around a surprise egg.
If you want them to be as fluffy as in the picture, you should use fluffy yarn (Philipp douce by Phildar or Baby Teddy Aran by Rico). But they’ll also turn out very pretty if you use cotton.
The pattern is available here !

There are many ways to give away your hand-decorated Easter eggs so they really stand out. This double egg holder is one of them – a very simple yet original one.

The double holder is made of cardstock and measures approx. 9 x 12.5 x 5 cm. It is very easy and quick to make: Two individual holders are made separately and then attached to each other at the back and at the handle.

If you want to decorate for Easter, you absolutely need at least one bunny. Here are two!
This pair of bunnies looks especially great on a child’s room window, where the cute design and bright colors are sure to bring constant smiles and good cheer.

This window decoration is made from photo cardstock and tracing paper and measures approximately 57 x 51 cm. It has only a few small details and is therefore easy to cut out. It’s best to cut out the design using the template (as described in the pattern). This method is much more precise and saves time.

A fresh bouquet of flowers always makes a great Easter decoration!
It also looks lovely on a set (Easter) breakfast table ♥
The tulips are about 22 cm tall and super quick to crochet.
For each tulip, you need only about 10 to 15 g for the stem & leaf and about 7 g for the tulip blossom.
You can insert pipe cleaners into the stem for reinforcement, but you don’t have to (coated garden wire works well too, and you can find it everywhere right now :-)
The crochet pattern is detailed and well illustrated, so it is also very suitable for beginners.

The wreath will be an eye-catcher on any door, and everyone will admire it. Enjoy the compliments you will receive for this beautiful handmade piece. So grab your crochet hook and crochet spring into your home.

Size of the door wreath: width: 30 cm, height: 40 cm. Depending on the yarn and crochet hook size, the size of the door wreath, the bunny, and the eggs will vary.

leftover yarn in white, light blue, and yellow
  • Catania (yardage: 50 g = 125 m): leftover yarn in black, white, and pink
  • Crochet hooks size 6 / 3 / 3.5 and 2, embroidery needle, sewing needle, stuffing, Styrofoam ring (diameter 30 cm), optional 6 beads (diameter 8 cm)
and optionally a hot glue gun.

It looks complicated, but it’s really not! And you’ll definitely impress your loved ones with it.

This egg holder is made from cardstock and measures about 20 x 10 cm. It’s very easy to make; only cutting out the small flowers might take a little time. But even this problem can be solved: You can either glue on fewer flowers or replace them with ready-made flowers (e.g. scatter flowers).
