SOFTY knitted dress without sleeves - all yarns
Even beginners with basic knitting skills can give this a try

(For purchase/download, please click the image)

...keeps you wonderfully warm and is quick and easy to knit in bulky yarns. It also works well as a “butt warmer” under an outdoor jacket ;-)

The short PDF pattern includes the images from the image gallery and is described over 6 pages so that this lovely piece can be adapted to your individual measurements.

Material used here:
Austermann Softy (98% merino, 2% PAM) – hand wash, 50 g = 53 m yardage, knitting needles 10.0 to 12.0 – here circular needle size 10, at least 80 cm cable length.
Gauge according to the ball band: 8 sts = 10 cm

  • Size XS/S 500 g
  • Size M 550 g
  • Size L 600 g
  • Size XL/XXL 700 g

Stitch markers, measuring tape, scissors, a second circular needle (or thread stitches onto a contrasting yarn) to put stitches on hold, needle for weaving in ends.

However, you can also use another yarn of your choice with a suitable needle size.

These knitting skills are required: cast on stitches, knit and purl stitches, edge stitches, bind off, knitting in rows and rounds, pick up stitches (= knit on). A knitting course is not included, but helpful link tips are.

And this poncho is super easy:

Feather-light knitted poncho/stole - very easy

(For purchase/download, please click the image)

This is a short PDF pattern for a feather-light and very easy-to-knit one-size poncho made from just 100 g of KidSilk (Austermann). The pattern includes the preview image.

Required knitting skills:
cast on, edge stitch (your favorite edge stitch), knit and purl stitches, bind off.

By the way: The poncho can also be knit as a warm outdoor poncho with bulky wool, 100 g - 100 m, using needle size 8.0. Required amount of yarn approx. 700 g. The number of stitches always depends on your individual gauge.

Note for beginners: Mohair yarns are very difficult to unravel. So please use a different yarn if needed.

Gauge swatches are important for almost every project.
Information on gauge is available for free in my blog “Converting gauge - here's how”.
If you don't like converting gauge swatches:
Here is a brand-new PDF table that you can also print out :

Potholder “It's so green” - Tunisian crochet

(For purchase/download, please click the image)

A touch of fresh spring green as kitchen decor or for practical use as a potholder made from 100% cotton – a useful little gift for all kinds of occasions.

Both the PDF pattern for the potholder and the pattern for the crochet flower(s) are illustrated step by step.

Material:
For 1 potholder in the standard size 21 cm x 21 cm:
50 g light green + 50 g dark green crochet yarn made from 100% cotton/plant fiber for heat resistance, e.g. Schoeller+Stahl Record 210, 50 g - 90 m, according to the ball band 16 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm), so 50 g per color for the Tunisian crochet hook up to max. size 4.5.

For the flower(s), a leftover amount of cotton yarn is sufficient, e.g. Catania (Schachenmayr) or Limone (Schoeller+Stahl) for crochet hook 2.5 - 3.5.

Note: heat-resistant cotton yarn (= potholder yarn) is only lightly twisted and therefore difficult to crochet with, especially for beginners, because the yarn splits a lot. So if heat resistance is not that important to you, for example if you won’t place a hot pot on the potholder, you can also crochet with a cotton blend yarn, e.g. Pantino by Schoeller+Stahl.

In addition, we need a measuring tape, scissors, and a yarn needle for weaving in ends.

General crochet skills are sufficient; the Tunisian crochet technique is explained with pictures.

Enjoy!

Continuing with very easy-to-make patterns:

Baby Shoes "Jakob" - easy to knit

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

Matching baby shoes for every outfit – quick and easy to knit.

You can also divide up the colors differently as you like (see the sample version in the image gallery), fold the cuff inward or outward, sew on a button, etc.  There are no limits to your imagination.

The step-by-step photo-illustrated main pattern describes the version shown in the cover image. There is also a short pattern to print out and a sketch (be sure to download).

These basic knitting skills are enough:
casting on, knit and purl stitches, knitting in rows, edge stitches, binding off, color changes.

We need:
50 g soft merino yarn with approx. 120 m - 130 m yardage per 50 g skein, color petrol, for knitting needle size 3 – 4, approx. 20 g of matching leftover yarn in the same yarn weight, color eggshell white or light beige (= leftover yarn). Gauge according to the ball band: 22 stitches x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm, used here: knitting needle 3.5, measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle, and a 3.0 crochet hook for the bow.

**********************************************************

And here is a similar model, but crocheted:

Easy Baby Crochet Shoes

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

This is a photo-illustrated crochet pattern for easy-to-crochet baby shoes.

Basic crochet skills are enough.

We need:
approx. 50 g cotton (blend) yarn with a yardage of approx. 90 m per 50 g, for (knitting) needle size 4.0 – 5.0; used here: crochet hook 4.5; thinner yarn can also be used - the specified measurements are what matter (gauge is not necessary because the piece is small - it can be unraveled again quickly ;-)), leftover yarn for the bows or 2 pretty buttons, yarn needle, measuring tape, scissors.

In addition to the detailed pattern, I have also made a short crochet pattern (sketch) as well as a short pattern for the knitted version.

By the way: cash gifts can also be "wrapped" this way.

Have fun "crocheting/knitting around baby feet" :-)

Very easy, but very effective and very quick to crochet—an original little gift for a friend who loves sewing: the cactus pincushion. Or crochet a few more cacti right away and put them on your windowsill. They don’t need any special care and definitely won’t die!
You can find the pattern here .

Easy to make

The simple children’s pullover looks good on everyone and fits every child! Crocheted in the child’s favorite colors, it’s guaranteed to become an absolute highlight in their wardrobe.
The highly stretchy cuffs always fit perfectly and never stretch out.

The pullover is crocheted in rounds from the neckline down and requires no sewing at all. You’ll quickly get the hang of the method. This makes the basic children’s pullover the ideal crochet project for TV evenings.

No standard clothing sizes are used; instead, it describes how to work according to the required body measurements.Materials needed:
depending on the desired size, e.g.: pullover size 140 slim approx. 650 g yarn (50 g/155 m), matching crochet hook, crochet hook size 6.0 mm, 4 stitch markersRequired skills:
chain stitch foundation, slip stitches, double crochet

Get the crochet pattern for the basic children’s pullover here.

The triangular shawl "Dream about Summer" is perfect for anyone who wants to crochet their first triangular shawl.

The pattern describes the first 8 rows of the shawl step by step and with lots of pictures; after that, the pattern can be repeated as often as needed until it is large enough.
The pattern also includes the crochet chart for the shawl, so you can easily keep track while crocheting.

For the shawl shown, I used approx. 750 m of 4-ply gradient yarn (50% cotton, 50% polyacrylic) and a 3 mm crochet hook, but the pattern can also be crocheted with any other yarn.

You should be familiar with the following: chain stitches, single crochet, double crochet, treble crochet

Get the pattern here and start right away!

Have fun making it :)
