Right now it's summer vacation, but pretty, colorful little things for the start of school don't just make first graders happy.

Dear users, dear authors,
what would you be most excited about for the start of school?
Would you also like a school cone filled with sweets and gifts?

There is sure to be a pattern or two in the Summer 2016 promotion that would fit perfectly in a school cone.
The promotion runs until mid-August.
These cuties here are sure to be a great eye-catcher in a school cone, and also a wonderful treat for older schoolchildren or grown-up kids at heart.
Crochet pattern Knobblys - funny bag charms or chunky keychains

Crochet a whole bunch of them right away.

There are many more keychains and bag charms in the shop, also with owls, of course.
We also have school cones.

How about a teddy bear for the little ones, waiting at home for the first grader, someone they can tell everything to and who is guaranteed not to spill any secrets?

Get the little bear—super cuddly, and not just for the start of school.

A pencil case is of course also a good idea

Make this lovely pencil now.

Of course you also need pencil cups

If you like cheese, you absolutely need this pencil cup—make it now.

How about a counting mouse?

Crochet it now to help math go better.

@all
So, what do you like best?

,@Autoren
please introduce your back-to-school patterns here.
Please be sure to include an image, link and text, information about the material, the type of craft, the difficulty level, and the material.
Have fun and good luck

This calendar makes waiting for school much easier: 30 drawers hold little gifts that, just like with an Advent calendar, are opened and emptied one by one, day by day. In the middle of the pencil there is also a surprise container (the red pencil-tip is its lid) for useful things like pencils, a ruler, brushes, or even little lucky charms, bag charms, and the like.

The calendar is made from photo cardstock (construction cardstock) and measures approx. 14 x 29 x 16 cm; each drawer is approx. 3 cm high. Making the drawers and compartments takes a little time, but otherwise the calendar is very easy and quick to craft.

This little baby elephant would certainly look great on a school cone too, since he’s not too big. He’s also relatively quick to crochet, so it can still be done at short notice.

Here is the pattern
Crochet Pattern Baby Elephant

Materials
  • Cotton Quick by Gründl (gray)
  • Crochet hook 3.0
  • Sewing needle
  • Stuffing
  • Glue-on eyes (can also be sewn on)
Have fun!

These are all wonderful gifts for first-graders!
Unfortunately, it’s too late—for example, in Saxony, school started yesterday, and tomorrow is the first day of school for all the kids.

Dear Gabi Wachter,
sorry if I have to correct you here, but in some federal states, school doesn’t start until late August or early September. Thank goodness, since I’m always on vacation during summer break :-) And I didn’t want to get up first thing tomorrow morning ;-)

For everyone who hasn’t wrapped their school enrollment gifts yet, I have these pretty, theme-appropriate containers:

This gift bag is made from photo cardstock (colored cardstock) and measures approx. 16.5 x 22.5 x 9 cm. It is quick and easy to make, can be changed in color as well as decorated differently, and is
an excellent package for school enrollment.

The second backpack version is a little more time-consuming to cut out, but otherwise just as easy to make as the first. It is also made from photo cardstock and has the same size of approx. 16.5 x 22.5 x 9 cm.

This packaging also fits wonderfully with school enrollment. The gift bag is made from photo cardstock (colored cardstock) and measures approx. 12 x 34 x 10.5 cm.
It is very easy to make; only the conical sections (colored pencil tip) should be carefully bent into shape with your fingers before gluing. Everything else works without any problems and is
finished quickly.

This packaging has an unusual closing technique, but is also very easy to make.
This packaging is also made from photo cardstock and measures approx. 13 x 25 x 11 cm.

This bag is perfect for retro lovers: The bag is made from photo cardstock and measures approx. 25 x 18.2 x 9 cm. The child’s name on the bag flap gives the bag a very personal look – the download includes the entire alphabet as a template. The bag can be changed in color as desired and also made more colorful.

Hello, my dears,

yes, school is starting soon! The kids want something special, something colorful, something no one else has. I have a lovely idea for you!

Quickly crocheted from small colorful yarn scraps using single crochet stitches, these colorful little buckets are made. For this you need a small standard plastic bucket (yogurt or potato salad) and lots of colorful cotton yarn scraps of the same weight (e.g., Bingo 163 by ONline or another yarn with 125 meters/50 g) and a size 3 crochet hook.

The little buckets are 13.5 cm x 13.5 cm and offer plenty of space for all kinds of odds and ends like pencils, brushes, and a ruler.

The pattern is suitable for crochet beginners because I describe and show everything to you in great detail. You don’t need to weave in any ends; everything is worked in elegantly and unobtrusively.

I hope you have lots of fun with the pattern and with giving them as gifts or decorating. The colorful little buckets are soooo pretty, you’ll actually want to keep them for yourself :-)

Best wishes - Yours, Ina

I don't want to keep these two very special gifts for little school starters from you:

1) Leonie, the Learning Owl

She makes learning really fun! Equipped with her brand-new school bag and her school cone, Leonie can hardly wait to conquer the world of numbers and letters together with your children.

If you use the following materials, as I did, Leonie will be about 18 cm tall and have a wingspan of up to 21 cm:
  • Cotton yarn in various colors (I chose red, orange, green, and blue), yardage approx. 125 m/ 50 g
  • 3.5 mm crochet hook
  • 2 black beads 8 mm or 2 safety eyes
  • Stuffing material (e.g., craft stuffing or sheep's wool)

You can find the pattern for Leonie, the Learning Owl here:

2) Mia, the quirky math owl

Mia is absolutely crazy about numbers! From morning till night, she counts and does math with her little bead tail.
And since she just can't get enough, she'll surely be happy to help your little school beginners master the world of numbers in no time.

Mia is easy and quick to crochet from a few bits of leftover yarn, making her a wonderful small last-minute gift or little present to bring to a back-to-school celebration:
  • Cotton yarn in various colors, yardage approx. 125m/ 50g
  • Crochet hook 3.5
  • 2 black beads, 5 mm
  • 20 wooden beads, 10mm in at least 2 different colors (5 beads in each color)
  • Yarn needle
  • Stuffing material (e.g., craft stuffing or sheep's wool)

You can find the pattern for Mia, the learning owl, here:

How about a window decoration?
This colorful window decoration is made from photo cardstock and transparent paper and measures approximately 48.5 x 48 cm.

Since the picture has very few small details, it’s very quick and easy to make.

Here in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), school started last Wednesday.
My daughter asked for a backpack charm so she wouldn’t mix up her backpack with others’ (there are three of the same backpack in her class).
But since she’s now in fifth grade, I’m only allowed to make things for her to use at home. Anything else would be embarrassing...

For children in the remaining states, the school holidays will soon be over too. If you still want to make a few pretty little things for the start of school, you should get moving. Have fun.

@Authors
do you still have a few suitable highlights in the shop? Then please present them here.

Hello,

my compliments to everyone!!
When I see all the great things you’re offering, I might as well pack away my crochet and knitting supplies ;-).
I could never do that on my own… It looks really complicated.
Best wishes

You get 25% off this wonderful and very beginner-friendly pattern

I’m happy about every visit to my little shop!
