Trend: Don’t dye your hair + use your clothing to add pops of color instead

Dear users, dear designers,
gray hair no longer needs to be dyed. Even if your hair is mouse-colored (unobtrusive and totally ordinary), just stick with your natural shade. Now it’s all about embracing what you have.
Benefit: the money for lengthy hair salon visits with regular touch-ups can now be invested in yarn and other crafting supplies.
e.g. you can shop well here
http://www.freeminute.net/de/
On Crazypatterns, of course, there are also lots of pretty patterns, and with the store credit prepaid account you can save even more there. Since skipping the hair dyeing may also give you a bit more time, there’s more time left for the current DIY summer trends.

How do you feel about dyeing your hair? What do you do with the money you don’t have to give to the hairdresser?
Are you happy with your hair color?
With clothing, accessories, loops, scarves, etc., you can add really beautiful pops of color and make your complexion and face glow.

Do you know this classification by color types, depending on hair and skin color?
http://www.jolie.de/beauty/welcher-jahreszeiten-typ-sind-sie
That’s the easiest way to find out which colors make your face glow.
Then you can buy yarn in just that shade and crochet or knit pretty things with it.

Everyone, join in. Have fun.

well, this is what I got
Result:
  • Winter type
    - 40%
Clear colors especially suit the winter woman: white, black, red, and also pink. You have dark hair, a fair complexion, and striking eyes that can be light blue, light green, or even dark brown. The style is straight. No ruffles; instead, straight cuts and lines.
Orange, khaki, and other earthy colors do not suit you at all, so
you should stay away from them. The same applies to makeup: It’s better to go for
cool colors rather than warm ones; black for the eyes is also allowed.

What a surprise :-)

I only had to guess on question 10—I don't use nail polish. Only the warm golden tone is already passé... luckily the gray streaks suit me

Spring type - 40% As a spring type, the colors of this cheerful season suit you especially well: yellow, blue, green. Your hair is fairly light, your eyes too, and a freckle pops up here and there. Your hair probably has a warm, golden tone, which is why you can also reach for autumn colors now and then. Sometimes a light, colored ring makes your eyes look even clearer and adds that certain something. For makeup, you should go for friendly, delicate shades. Don't use colors with too much blue in them, and it's better to skip the bold shades too, because that makes them look too harsh.

I guess I’m more of a “Spring” type too, but I still dye my hair light brown!
I’ve tried everything from platinum blonde to red to jet black, but in my opinion, brown suits me best. As for spring colors, blue, green, and yellow work well—my favorite color is turquoise, and when I mix those three colors, it actually matches :P
I do sometimes wait a while before dyeing my hair again, but I just can’t go without it entirely...

I used to dye my hair until about a year ago because I still wasn’t able to accept my gray hair. But I always dyed it myself, in my natural color - it’s a boring dark blonde, but it still suits me best. So now I’m almost 50, and at that age I think gray hair is perfectly fine. I’ll still have to tint it for a while until all the dyed hair has grown out, and then I’ll go "natural."
I think the trend is quite good - there are so many really aggressive chemicals in hair dye that it really would be better to avoid it.
According to the test, I’d be the spring type (30%), but since half of the questions didn’t apply to me at all, I don’t really trust the result :-).

*laughs* I had to Google question 6 first because I only knew Angelina Jolie.

So, I’m 50% a Winter type, but you can take 10 different tests and you’ll always get a different result.
I’ve been dyeing my hair the same shade for over 25 years. I made an exception once and dyed it a bit darker, and I bitterly regretted it.
I’ve thought about going back to my natural hair color (mousey blonde), but I’m just afraid that my roots will show too much. Plus, my light blonde really suits me—it creates such a nice contrast to the bold colors I like to wear. I only dye my hair every three months, so I think I’m still within reasonable limits. ;-)

For me, the test said 40% Winter, 40% Autumn, and 20% Spring

So, what am I supposed to wear now? ;-)

Like Wollnes-Oase, I’m also 50% Winter type. I’d also say that this really suits me best.

I have no idea what my hair color is right now or whether there are already any gray hairs in it. I think I’ve been dyeing my hair for more than 20 years.

Of course, if too much time passes between dyeing sessions, my roots grow out a really odd color, but the contrast with my unnatural hair color (red\/dark purple) is quite stark.

Now that I’m almost 40, I think I’ll slowly switch back to a natural brown shade.

I’ll admit: I haven’t taken the test (like WollnessOase, I get tripped up by the celebrities), nor have I ever dyed my hair.

I was blonde and I am blonde (and I’m proud of it… grin), and I inherited wild, natural curls from my grandma. By now, my kids have given me a few grayish strands, but they really only stand out against my natural blonde hair if you look closely.

I only remember my grandma as snow-white, and I hope I’ll be blessed with that someday, too.

I love bold colors, but I especially like all shades that lean toward the warm, yellowish side. That includes yellowish blues (turquoise), yellowish greens, yellow and red in all their variations, as well as warm purple tones (eggplant). I also like contrasting colors like black or charcoal gray.

What doesn’t suit me at all: pastel shades

Good morning,

Many years ago, I had a professional color consultation, and it turned out that I’m very clearly a Winter type.

I plucked out my first three gray hairs, but since then I’ve let them grow.

Fortunately, so far I’ve only discovered one more gray hair. But that one, and the ones still to come, definitely won’t be dyed over either.

Typical of the Winter type, I love all strong, cool, and clear colors, especially royal blue and dark blue, but also pink, emerald green, and cool purple.

Pastel shades, warm colors, and all powdery colors are not my thing at all.

Hi!

I’m a “-40% Summer type.”
That sounds about right.
Including the colors I wear and like.
I’m dark blonde to very light brown, with blue-green eyes, and unfortunately by now I’ve got the odd gray hair too...
Back when I used to wear my hair long, I always had blonde highlights, but ever since I started wearing it quite short again (I mean really short... about 8 cm long on top), I’ve been wearing it in its natural color. At first, it startled me how dark it had become - I was much lighter naturally even in my mid-20s - but I’ve gotten used to it. And people around me keep telling me that the color and hairstyle really suit me *yay*.
Before my pregnancy, I used to give the color a bit of shine with a semi-permanent tint (and cover up those silly gray hairs too...), but unfortunately I have to do without that at the moment.

I like wearing bright, bold colors, but not too many together - usually jeans with one top, for example in sunny yellow.
I’m not into nail polish or noticeable makeup (apart from a bit of mascara now and then). I’m not into flashy jewelry either - I only wear a simple thin gold chain that I inherited from my grandma, my engagement ring and my wedding ring, and a pair of small hoop earrings (all gold). But I wear this jewelry all the time! (Well, on veeeery special occasions, I swap the chain for my grandma’s pearl necklace or my Meissen pug [a gift from my husband]...)

Have I drifted off topic now?! ;)

Every now and then I come up with crochet ideas for tops and so on, which I write down and want to crochet for myself... but then one of my children has a request, or there are commissions, or one thing or another gets in the way... so it almost always ends up either as unfinished projects (“UFOs”) or just as an idea...
But someday ... *laugh*

Best regards
