You were such a big help with the coral pattern, and I’m hoping for some advice now, too.
I’m supposed to knit 2 stitches together purlwise, resulting in 1 purl stitch and 1 knit stitch.
I’m sure it’s similar to that. But how?
Hello Marina,
If this is a pattern from Crazypatterns, then you can ask the author (male or female) directly via private message or in the comments section of the pattern. If you’d like, I can also ask the author for you.
If it’s not a pattern from CP, then you’ll have to be patient until one of our active authors here on the forum chimes in with some info. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to knit—otherwise I would have helped you.
I just downloaded the pattern and had to grab my needles and yarn to try it out, because the pattern is extremely poor and not a good example of the patterns on Crazypatterns:
- You purl 2 stitches together - just like a normal purl stitch, except that you work it through 2 stitches from the previous row (that is the purl stitch)
- then you insert the needle through those same two stitches from the previous row - but from the front, as if you were knitting a knit stitch, and pull the yarn from back to front through those stitches (that is the knit stitch)
- you then repeat these two steps until the end of the row
- this row is repeated over and over
If you need any more help, feel free to message me.
@KnitBig-FeelGreat, you're right, the pattern is so incredibly "extremely bad" that it has 5 stars from 116 reviews ....
@Norge, we're happy to help you with any questions about the pattern. Just send us a PM or contact us directly using the contact details listed in the pattern.
I think your current questions have already been clarified; if not, you know how to reach us. Unfortunately, I don't manage to check the forum regularly.
Best regards, Dominik
@ Dominik
read the comments on the stars - they were mainly reviewing the presentation of the pattern, and it is nice to look at and appears professional.
However, DreamsArt already pointed out to you 2 months ago that this part of the pattern cannot be understood like this, but you still have the old version online.
To me, "extremely bad" is when, as a long-time knitter, I need 3 attempts and have to rip it back twice just to work out a simple pattern. As I already wrote in the comments: it really is so easy to fix this mistake. Feel free to use my explanation above and simply copy it in.......
What I mainly meant by the "extremely bad" review was that your pattern is not a good example of free patterns, because there are a lot of people here who put much more effort into their free patterns.
And we all want customers to be happy with a free pattern, because some of these customers will eventually become paying customers, right?
@KnitBig-FeelGreat, of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I'm in no way angry with you or holding a grudge—subjective impressions are always different, of course.
But there is simply a polite tone and then a... well, let's say a different one.
But thank you for your permission to use your text.
Have you received the answer yet?
Here’s mine: knit the two stitches together, keep them on the needle, and then knit the desired stitches from them.
Let me know if that works
Hello everyone
When I knit this loop as instructed, it turns out compact rather than airy.
Are both the front and back worked in the pattern stitch, or am I misunderstanding something?!
