Hello, dear all,
some of you took part in the
previous yarn swap package. Everyone joined in with great enthusiasm, and lots of yarn changed hands. New projects have already been made from the swapped yarn by now, too. The ones that come to mind here are
Ruth’s igloo or
Monika’s cardigan.
Since January is a gloomy month anyway, we can add more fun and excitement to it with a new swap package. The new swap ring works like this:
I would be the initiator of this swap ring and would pack a package with yarn. Beforehand, I’ll ask the participants for their names and addresses by email and compile a list from them. The data will not be published here on CP.
In addition to
names and addresses , what will be new this time is that we will also record individual
“likes” and “dislikes” . But this is voluntary. Anyone who wants to can use it to let others know what they would like or what they could do without. Each participant then has the option to take that into account. Anyone who does not want to share likes or dislikes will simply be completely surprised.
I will put the list I create into my freshly packed yarn package. I will send it at my expense to No. 2 on the list.
No. 2 on the list receives the package and chooses what she likes from it. As a replacement for the yarns she takes out, she puts yarns of equal value into the package.
No. 2 then sends the package at her expense to No. 3 on the list. The list goes back into the package. And so on.
In the end, the package must always have the same weight, so that
everyone has the same quantity to choose from and the
postage is the same for every participant. At the end, the package would come back to me and I would destroy the address list.
Where the package currently is, or photos of the “captured treasures,” we’ll be happy to show here in the forum. Then everyone can share in the joy a little. But there will be a new thread for that later.
Summary of the rules of the game:
1. The package must not weigh more than 5 kg so that DHL postage remains the same for all participants.
2. Every ball of yarn must have a label.
3. Several balls of yarn of the same type only need one label.
4. The yarns taken out are always replaced with qualities of equal value.
5. Only yarn (any kind) should be swapped (no needles, books, fabrics, trims, etc.).
Anyone who would like to join in can sign up here in this thread.
If you have any other notes, suggestions, or questions, you can also write them here.
Warm regards, Ina
