My goodness, Sandra, you really are so creative. You’ve brought some truly great ideas to life.
I’m still working on my larger project, which is slowly entering its final phase—definitely in September. I’ll show it to you when it’s done. I’ve already knitted 300 g.

Since my friend is visiting until September 12 and all that fruit needs to be used up, crafting is taking a bit of a back seat—and unfortunately, so is writing patterns. But I’ll catch up on that later.

In the meantime, I’m admiring your wonderful creations. :)

For now, I’m going to enjoy the beautiful summer weather in the garden.

Oh wow mowi19, I'm also busy processing fruit, so my crafts are staying a bit in the background. I've started 2 things at the moment and just can't make any progress :)
I check in now and then to see your latest news; there are some really great things again
We have a beautiful sunny day today, and I'm spending it in the garden with family and the dog

Yes, Ines, we’re in agreement on that. :) Tomorrow we’ll also be enjoying the garden, including the fruit harvest. In mid-September, we also want to take the RV out for a few days, but just nearby.
Then I’ll finally (hopefully) have more time for crafts.

Right now, I’m working on the crochet chart for my large tablecloth.
That’s going to keep me busy for a while yet.

At least I’ve already finished the hat for my winter set and started on the scarf.

Would you wear this as a set, or would you rather pair it with something else?

My foot is “almost” back to normal. I’m no longer lying around all day. 🙈🙊
So I can (finally) get back to embroidering my orders on the embroidery machine—not all day, though; I still have to do housework, and I have to keep elevating my foot every now and then... It’s a struggle, but at least I can do something again 😋

Dear bergli, I hope things are looking up for you, too. It’s already looking good now. :)

Dear Marlene, regarding your question about whether the items in the picture go together. I’d say it depends on your taste. Since the colors are somewhat similar but not exactly the same, I’d choose something else.

Hi, I’m checking in again. I’m still taking a break for now, but things are slowly getting better.

Dear bergli, I’m glad you’re able to do something again. Get well soon.
Marlene, I wouldn’t wear that set together either, because of the colors.
I hope everyone has fun, and I’m looking forward to seeing your creations.

Thanks for your feedback—I unraveled the scarf again anyway, because I’ve now decided to make something else.

So I’ll leave the hat as is.
That is, without the scarf.

Dear Bergli, I hope you continue to get well soon. It’s tough when you want to do something but can’t, and you see everything that needs to be done.

Here’s a photo from our short vacation in Switzerland for you. These signs hang on the farmers’ barns. I think they’re beautiful.

WollwunderPetra: Which part of Switzerland were you in? Judging by the pictures, I’d guess Glarus—a canton I’m unfortunately almost completely unfamiliar with. We recently wanted to go hiking there, but realized it wasn’t feasible for us to do in a single day using public transportation. So Fridolin on the coat of arms remains on the waiting list!

Wow, Petra, those signs are absolutely beautiful! They’re so Swiss, somehow. :-)

Besides my big project, I crocheted something small in between. My friend asked for two coasters—here’s what they look like. She’ll take them home with her on Saturday.

Yes, it was in Elm. We’re staying at a cabin right in the middle of a cow pasture, and that’s where our hikes start. The pastures… so wonderfully green, lush, and vibrant. It was glorious. This is the view from the cabin. A view of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Martinsloch.”

Warm regards to everyone.

Since my husband was still on vacation until the beginning of last week, I didn’t get anything done during that time... Normally, we’re always away on vacation, so he was actually pretty restless being at home and needed “some company...”—we went for lots of walks in the area, for example, in the Westruper Heide...
It’s always beautiful there this time of year.

Last Sunday there was a fabric market in the neighboring town, and !!! HE !!! really wanted to go.
He ended up going on a shopping spree—we came back with three full bags.
But the prices were unbeatable. Lots of fabrics were available for under 5 euros per meter. So they’re perfect for practicing.
Now they’re washed and ready to be sewn—I’ve already started.

I’ve wanted to make new sofa cushions out of old jeans for a long time—I’ve been diligently collecting the ones with holes but never dared to try it. My old machine would never have been able to handle it... but the new one had no problem at all.
It purred away nicely, even when I added an extra layer under an existing waistband. I only had to give the belt loops a little help by hand... sewing is actually fun even for me this way.

We’ve been visiting the Opelzoo quite often lately.
Among other things, we’ve really taken a liking to the little owls there:

As a Munich native, I’m a little sad that Oktoberfest is canceled this year. So I’ve consoled myself by crocheting a cute Münchner Kindl, the figure on Munich’s coat of arms.

This coming Saturday, the Münchner Kindl would normally have made its grand entrance on horseback at the Wies’n :-(

Thanks for the lovely photos and for sharing them with us. Fabrics—hmm, I remember very well that back then I was just as crazy about fabrics as I was about wool. Right now, I prefer wool.

Ruth, your “Münchner Kindl” turned out great.

I’m also in the middle of crocheting and designing something small. It’ll be my first keychain. Tomorrow we’re heading to the Altmühltal for a few days in our RV. Then I’ll finally have some real time for things like this. A four-week-long visit is nice, but it’s also exhausting, and a lot of things get put on hold.

My long-term project is finally nearing completion, too. It’ll definitely be finished in September.

I wish you all lots of joy in everything you do.

It was a lot of fun to do some appliqué again.

Wow, Petra, that looks great! Your grandson will surely be delighted!

Marlene, yes, that’s really perfect and a reason to celebrate.
I always cut off those little knots because I don’t trust them.

Well, now I’m heading out on a road trip in the RV—I’m really looking forward to it.
Have a wonderful, relaxing weekend, everyone!

Petra, that looks great! A homemade school cone like that is really something special.

Monika: You can trust those knots—they’re rock-solid! Google “Frankfurt knot”!

So, I finally got my embroidered picture framed today and hung it up in the bedroom. I’m really proud of it: 11 months of embroidery, 1 month for framing—a year’s work!

Ruth, the picture turned out beautifully. It was worth sticking with it.

Petra, I’m sure your bag arrived safely. I like it.

Right now, things with my yarn aren’t going quite as I’d like—I’m unraveling more than I’m making progress. But things are going better and better on the sewing machine...

I also sewed my first dress. It looked great on the hanger, but then I tried it on.... That’s when I realized that a fabric that looks great on the roll doesn’t necessarily look good on me.
That’s something else I still have to learn!
Pink just doesn’t suit me, even if I sewed it myself.
Out of frustration, I gave it away without taking any pictures. It actually turned out to be quite wearable—just not for me.

Oh Ruth, you really helped me out there. I learned something new about the Frankfurt knot. That’s going to save me a lot of work. Your mammoth project looks huge! It really takes the patience of a saint. You can be really proud of it.

Claudia, your bag looks great. What a great idea!

I’m in the final stages of my knitted mammoth project. Roughly speaking, it’ll be a cape or something similar. I’m already looking forward to wearing it. And my new crochet project is slowly taking shape, too. I’m currently doing some test crocheting so I’ll have several color variations for the photos. I’m really curious to see what you think when I upload the photos. That’ll definitely be ready sometime this month.

Hey everyone, I have to say, your creations are all absolutely beautiful, and I don’t even know where to start or what to mention first.
A lot of major events have been canceled this year too—what a shame.....

So, after a lot of tinkering, I’ve at least managed to finish my gingerbread man, Arthur

Right now, I’m just getting started on a Santa Claus figure; I’m not quite sure how to begin yet. I only have a mental image in my head that I’d like to sketch out first—I hope to get started on it before our short vacation.

Ines, your gingerbread man looks super cute. He’s sure to spread good cheer everywhere. What a great idea! I’m already looking forward to your Santa Claus.

I’m all set for UFO Week. I’ll probably finish my big project—which I’ve been working on for quite some time—before the end of September.

Thank you, Monika. I always have my doubts—I mean, I’m not sure if people will like it—but the wish list looks good so far :)

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for your UFO project in advance. I think Santa Claus is a smaller UFO for now, too.... I have something smaller planned in between, but since it’s for Christmas, I’ll have to get a move on.

You know, Ines, the most important thing is that you like it. Whether others like it or not—well, that’s not really up to us. The main thing is enjoying your own ideas; that’s the best starting point.

My little project came to me quite spontaneously, and it just so happens to fit Halloween very well. But that’s just a side note, because I’m already getting requests—everyone wants a little companion like this. Let yourself be surprised here. The ones I have so far look really cute, anyway. They were all made in the garden and during a short camping trip.

“On the side” (haha), I’ll finish knitting my UFO in the evening. There are still a few days left, so I should be able to manage it.

Warm regards to everyone from Monika

Yes, you’re right, Monika—you have to like it yourself. My family always smiles, but they also tell me when something isn’t quite right. That’s a good start.

I had to smile just now, too, because a spontaneous idea came to me the day before yesterday—around Halloween—and I’m in the middle of bringing it to life. My daughter is coming tomorrow, so I want to have the first one finished by then, because she’s my biggest critic. She’s not really into crafts at all, but if she likes something, she just HAS to have it....
Now you’ve really piqued my curiosity, and I’m already looking forward to seeing your spontaneous project... I’m going to head out to the garden now to enjoy what might be the last sunny afternoon for a while—and, of course, do some crafting.

Warm regards, Ines

Sooooo, yesterday I got the okay from my little girl, lol—my husband almost always thinks everything’s great, Monika. Now I’ve uploaded my spontaneous idea; let’s see—I really like it. That way, I can put it by the door on Halloween and keep refilling it.

Starting today, I’ll continue with the UFO Santa Claus...

Ines, that looks amazing! Great spur-of-the-moment idea! But you’ll have to be careful that not just the contents, but the whole thing doesn’t get taken away. ;-)

Now I’ll show you my new project. They’re little, cute spirits meant to protect their owner and give them good energy. They just came to me out of the blue—there’s a male spirit and a female spirit. The male one can even rattle with beads. :-) Here are the 6 finished ones—all made from leftover yarn in different colors. Some of them have already been “claimed” and will be on their way soon.

The little ghosts can accompany their owners as keychains, car pendants, or bag charms—whatever you prefer. What do you think of them?

Thanks, Ines! :) Yes, I deliberately didn’t make them spooky, because they’re meant to be companions throughout the year. I’m going to give some of them away as gifts on New Year’s Eve. And I’m currently thinking about whether I might crochet some for the kids who come to our door on Halloween.

Ines, I like your spontaneous idea, too.

Monika, your cute little ghosts turned out adorable—a great spontaneous idea.
The idea of giving them to kids for Halloween will definitely be a hit. I’m looking forward to seeing your UFO.
By the way, next I’m going to start test knitting. I just need to finish one project I’ve already started.

Marion, how nice that you’re slowly emerging from your crafting slumber.
Great—I’m already looking forward to your test knitting. This pattern project also needs to be finished now. I haven’t gotten anything done in the last few weeks. A 4-week-long visit—and now I have a lot to catch up on. The weather is perfect for it, too.

And the next idea is already in the starting blocks. It’s going to be a pair of warm wool pants for Juna. The gauge swatch is already done. :)

I wish you all a cozy crafting weekend!

Cute little ghosts, Monika—they’ll surely sell like hotcakes!

I actually thought I’d had enough of embroidery for a long time, but yesterday I ended up starting a little embroidery project after all: Christmas cards.

Oh, how lovely, Ruth. Did you design the motif yourself? I embroidered lots of cards like that years ago and gave them away as gifts. I still have one of them here and will take a picture of it sometime. If I had 10 hands, I’m sure I’d be doing a lot of embroidery. Right now, I’m having a hard time bringing all my ideas to life. Now the kids need winter clothes again, which of course makes me happy too.

Yes, those little ghosts will bring joy to many people. One of them is going in our car.

My scarf is growing—it’s now 125 cm long. It’ll grow a few more centimeters by the end of the month.
On the side, I’ve started a pair of socks.
These are made from polyamide yarn, though.

When I see your lovely woolen creations, I really want to crochet something new again—but my yarn just won’t cooperate the way I’d like it to.
So I unraveled everything yet again and did some sewing instead… at least that’ll get finished.

I bought this fabric many years ago while on vacation. Now it’s been sewn up....

Do you guys also stop by craft stores when you’re on vacation? I usually can’t walk past them, no matter what kind of materials they have. It’s a good thing my husband goes along with it...

Marlene, your scarf looks great, and the pattern on the socks does too.

Claudia, your St. Nicholas boots are absolutely amazing—true works of art! Wow!

Unfortunately, I have to carry over one UFO again. It’s the winter sweater I started, which I’ll have to put on the back burner for a while. That’s because now I’ve had requests for things for my granddaughters, and they come first. I’ve now started a pair of trousers for Juna, and Linja is getting a wool sweater. I want to have both finished in October. But what I did finish, right on time on the last day of September, is my long-term project. Now I can finally show it to you. It’s a poncho made from sock yarn. It contains just under 400 grams. Here are the photos:

I’m also really happy with this piece. The yarn is just gorgeous. Unfortunately, I only had one skein of it. But it looks great with the stripes, too.

I usually use a set of double-pointed needles for knitting socks too, Petra.

With this pattern, the number of stitches on each needle would vary from time to time—so I prefer to work with the “Magic Loop” method.

Hi everyone,

I just happened to discover today that there’s also a forum. :) I think the patterns here are great, and I actually downloaded some last year, too. :)
Over the summer, I didn’t feel like doing any crafts. I like to knit, but I love crocheting even more, and now I’m in the mood for it again.
I just started working on a vest for my mother-in-law. But I’m only on the back piece and haven’t gotten that far yet. Maybe about 20 cm. I also want to knit the star hat with a matching triangular scarf, but I’m currently waiting for the yarn. I plan to knit two of these. One for my little niece and one for my little nephew. Then there’s a little knitted jacket for a 4-year-old and a matching hat.
I still have a few things on my wish list.
My son is still waiting for his socks, which I started last year and then didn’t continue. Then I want to knit and crochet some hats for my husband, and maybe a loop scarf too. For my little son, I’ll make a hat with a matching loop scarf. So I’ve got quite a few projects planned and hope I’ll be able to finish them all. But I’ve already bought the yarn. ;)
Best regards

Kerstin

Hi Kerstin! We’re so glad you found your way here and are joining us! We’re always happy to welcome new members. :)

You really have a lot planned, wow. For me, too, knitting for kids is always the best part. In my case, it’s my two granddaughters (ages 1.5 and 4.5). You finish faster with them, and it’s just so much fun. You’ve also got some bigger projects on your list. You’ll definitely show them to us when they’re finished, right? We’re really excited to see what you end up making here.

Best wishes from Monika

Hi Kerstin, glad you found your way here to the craft group. You’ll see, your list will just keep getting longer. There’s always so much new stuff to see here, and it’s very inspiring.

I’ve rediscovered my sewing machine lately. You get things done so much faster when you need a little gift in a pinch. Like this little piggy—a birthday gift for my “no-wish-list” daughter yesterday. I sewed it “just quickly” the night before.

Petra, that little pig looks funny and pretty big. It could serve as a pillow, right?

I’ve got something to show you, too. Here’s the progress on the new pants for Juna. I’m working on the cuffs at the bottom now. I’ll add the straps later. I really like the sock yarn I used here.

The sweater for Linja is also coming along a bit. I’m still pretty much at the beginning with that one.

Good morning, everyone!

Monika the piggy is rather small, maybe 15 cm. Half a leg of my grandson’s jeans was enough.

It now sits on my daughter’s dashboard in the car as a lucky piggy.

Petra, your little pig is cute—I like it, too.
Monika, those pants have really grown a lot already.

Petra, that’s such a great upcycling project with the little pig. It looked huge in the photo.

Marion, you’ve dressed your little Mäxchen so adorably. Thanks for test-knitting. I really love the winter version. And your mushroom turned out very, very nice, too.

I was hard at work again last night and this afternoon and have made good progress on the pants and the sweater for Linja. I still need to add straps to the pants. I must have spent two hours trying to get them right and unraveling them… trying again and unraveling them… until they finally seem to fit. I’ll know for sure once they’re finished.

This is what the pants look like now without the straps, and the sweater for Linja only needs a few more centimeters before the armholes begin.

@Monika, your pants look great. I’m sure they’re nice and warm, too. I’m curious to see how you’ll handle the straps.

@Wollefaden: The mushroom project will have to wait. Yesterday I got a request: “Mom, can you knit this?” A cowl for my grandson is wanted.

And I’m also enjoying spending time at the sewing machine right now. Yesterday—and really, really quickly—I finished this little storage basket for the autumn flower. A gift in return for the dinner invitation. Made again from an old pair of jeans—I must have about 20 pairs lying around in the basement—and a small scrap of lace.

So many wonderful things to admire here again. You’re all very hardworking. I’m only making moderate progress.

@Wollefaden: hey, I really like your mushroom version. Great job bringing it to life.

@Monika,
The pants for Linja look great. I especially like the cable pattern on the sides. But she probably won’t care. Together with the sweater, it’s sure to be a lovely, warm set.

@Petra
The “sewn planter” made from jeans and lace looks fantastic! If you received that as a gift, you’d hardly even notice the heather plant inside. Good thing you still have so many pairs of jeans :-)

@Wollefaden
I already praised your mushroom with the beautiful autumn leaves on its cap. But the doll clothes also look absolutely charming.

At the moment—as I usually am in autumn—I’m busy with felted slippers. Yesterday I made a pair in size 40 for my friend as a birthday gift. Her favorite color is muted green, and I really like the model with the contrasting collar. Now I still have to sew on the leather soles—they’re already cut out, punched, and pinned in place.

Best wishes - Ina

And then I added latex soles to the pink felt ballerina flats. I tried out a tip I read online. If you apply the latex with a synthetic brush and then put it in a container of soapy water (i.e. water with dish soap) and wash it out, it stays nice. I used to always use other bristle brushes, and I’d have to throw them away afterwards. Learned something new :-)

Take a look—this is how transparently the latex dries after two coats. At first it’s white, and then it turns transparent.

Best wishes, and a lovely evening to everyone reading this thread, from Ina

Yes, Petra, the pants are really nice and warm. Juna’s mom will be especially happy about that. Today I spent the whole day fiddling with the straps. Tried it out—ripped it out—tried it out—ripped it out—and then I found the solution. It looks super cute now. I just have to weave in the ends and sew on the buttons. Then I’ll take a photo and show it to you.
I really love your ideas with the jeans. It makes me want to start sewing again right away. You know what—for Christmas, I’m going to ask the Christ Child for looooots of time so I can bring all my ideas to life. :-)

Ina, you know I’m a huge fan of your felt creations. You’ve done an amazing job again—they’re real works of art.
Thanks for the great tip about the paintbrush! Awesome! Until now, I’ve always had to throw the brushes away.
The knitted pants are for Juna—the little one who’s 1 1/2. Linja is the 4-year-old; she’s getting the sweater.

Ina—I’d completely forgotten about that. I think it’s great that you’re now actively participating here too. That way, we can admire your creations here as well.

I wish everyone here a wonderful week!

Love, Monika

You’re all so hardworking :) and everything is soooo lovely,

@ Ina, I didn’t know about the latex soles at all; my mom knits so many socks, I’ll suggest that to her.

I myself am only making slow progress at the moment; I can’t even think about writing my patterns right now. I have my little four-legged grandpuppy with me for 2 weeks at the moment, and our big dog doesn’t get along with him, so I have to walk them separately 4 times a day, which doesn’t leave much time for other things.... But from next Monday onwards, things will be calm again.
Then I hope our week at Lake Constance will still happen after all. Everything is a bit hard to plan this year, but I’m looking to the future positively.

Wishing you all a lovely and healthy week

Best regards, Ines

@Ines, you’re certainly keeping busy with your pups. Our kids also live near Lake Constance, and I’m already looking forward to hugging my two granddaughters again. It’ll be time for that again by spring at the latest. Sooner would be better, of course, but we can’t really plan anything right now.

I just took a photo of the finished pants for Juna. They’ll grow with her a bit. Thanks to the side cables, the pants fit well and are still stretchy enough. I’m already curious to hear what her parents think.

Schnukelina , those green felt shoes look great.

Monika , the pants already looked good, but with the straps they look even better.
All that tinkering was definitely worth it.

Monika, those pants turned out really nice again—and it’s practical that they grow with the child a little.
Unfortunately, for now I can only make clothes for my little granddog, haha; he’s so tiny and needs a little coat during the cold season. I’ll have to wait a little longer for the two-legged ones....

Monika, the idea with the straps on the pants is great! That way, nothing slips down when the little one is running around, but they’re easy to take off for diaper changes.

Dear Monika , I’m glad you’ve noticed that I’m a bit more active here again. Yes, it’s a lovely way to connect with each other and have a little chat—it does us all good.

The finished pants for Juna look absolutely adorable and very cozy, warm, and practical—and they’ll grow with her in every direction for a while. I also like the cuffs at the bottom of the legs—they add a little extra warmth. Even as an adult, I’d wear them! My husband would laugh his head off :-)

Dear Ines , you’ll find the time again. Sometimes you just have to take care of other things first before you can relax and get back to your hobby. But that makes it all the more enjoyable. You can already start planning in your head everything you’ll do starting Monday.

*************************************************************

I sewed the leather soles onto the green felt shoes. For adult shoe sizes, I always sew soles underneath because they last much, much longer that way. It’s not worth it for kids’ sizes. Since the weather was so nice, I took a few photos outside. Now I’ll wrap them up nicely and give them to my friend for her birthday.

Now I’ve fallen in love with the reed green myself and am toying with the idea of making some for myself in this color too… I guess this will never end.

Best wishes, Ina

Dear Ina, your felted items turned out great—they look really professional! I was once given some felting wool as a gift, but I haven’t knitted with it yet… I’m afraid the slippers would be too warm for me, even though we definitely don’t overheat our house.

Wow, Ina, those slippers are real works of art! I don’t think I could ever get them that precise. And I’d always be worried that the size wouldn’t be right after felting.

Dear Wollbaerli , no, they definitely wouldn’t be too warm. We have underfloor heating, after all. Felt regulates temperature—meaning you won’t sweat in them. If your feet get too warm, the excess heat would simply be released into the air through the felt.

Dear Ruth , yes, the sizing is a bit of an issue. Not all felting wools felt up equally well. Even if you use felting wools from the same company, each color behaves differently when felted. So it takes a bit of luck, sometimes perseverance, and—in my opinion—definitely shoe lasts to ensure that the desired size and shape result in beautiful-looking shoes. But even if you felt them without shoe lasts and just put them on while they’re damp, the felt adapts to your foot, and you’ll still enjoy that comfortable fit later on.

I’m glad you like them :-)

Thanks for liking Juna’s pants with straps so much, too. :) They’re definitely practical and warm, and I really love them.

Ina, I actually did have the idea once to knit myself a pair of leggings for the winter. But somehow I ended up scrapping the idea. Who knows, maybe I’ll get around to it someday after all. ;-)

Your slippers are a hit, and I like the green color, too. I can confirm that the Filzies regulate temperature. You don’t sweat as easily in them, but your feet always stay nice and warm. My husband loves wearing them in the winter.

So many great projects again.

At Lisa’s suggestion, I’ve started on a pair of arm warmers.
I’m making them from the same yarn as the socks.
This time, too, with a different cable pattern.

I’ll post a photo once I’ve knitted a few more rounds.

Do you actually realize that you’re making me jealous with your pictures right now?
And now these amazing felt slippers, too...

I’ve been unraveling my work again... somehow my plans just aren’t working out. Maybe I should crochet one of the old patterns first, for some new pictures... but my head is full of ideas that I can’t seem to bring to life.

On the other hand, things are going really well at the sewing machine.

@Claudia: Your sewing projects turned out great.

The hedgehog—absolutely adorable. Was the body difficult and a lot of work? (Because that’s what it looks like.) Together with the pumpkins in the background, it makes a really great decoration.

You’ve really become a master at sewing.

I’d be happy if I could do that too. The hedgehog is especially beautiful.

@ Claudia, I really admire everyone who can sew as professionally as you do! Your creations are truly beautiful little eye-catchers in the fall decor. Everyone stops right in their tracks to take a closer look. It’s simply a delight to the eye and brings a smile to your face. But you’ve also done a great job on the shirt.

I know that feeling too—having so many ideas swirling around in your head, just waiting to come out. When that happens, I usually start working on something completely different first. That gives my thoughts time to sort themselves out.

@ CreatOwl, I’m excited to see your arm warmers. They’d be perfect for this weather right now. I could really use a pair here at my desk, too.

What am I up to right now? Yes, you guessed right—I’m still working on the felt shoes. I have to work my way through my wish list. That’s why today I have a pair of corn-yellow felt moccasins to show you. The color looks really beautiful in person—it would be something for me, too. I think I’ll have to set aside four skeins of that yarn for myself.

I wish all readers a wonderful day.
Best regards—Ina

There’s a time for everything, Claudia. But you’re a whiz at the sewing machine—and I might even be a little jealous of that. But not everyone has to be able to do everything; that way, we can admire each other’s work.

Marlene, I’d love to admire your arm warmers too when you show them to us. ;)

Ina, wow, those felt slippers turned out great again—just like something from a shoe store. You always manage to make them look amazing with the help of those shoe lasts.

I wish you all a wonderful day, too.

Warm regards—Monika

The felted shoes are so beautiful ☺

A colleague of mine also felts slippers; I embroider them.
So, together: teamwork ☺

@bergli— I have to give you and your colleague a huge compliment. The felt slippers—especially with the embroidery—look absolutely fantastic! They’re wet-felted—you can tell by the two-tone color on the inside and outside. You can only achieve that with wet felting. This technique is still on my to-do wish list. But wet felting requires a lot of strength in your shoulders, arms, and hands for the kneading process. Knitting is more manageable for me right now. Thanks for sharing.

Best regards, Ina

Thanks for the compliment. 😘
Yes, she does wet felting....
We’ve made quite a few slippers together, with different designs and colors—whatever the customer wants.
I tried felting a few slippers once, too—that was tough... and they didn’t turn out as nice as hers. So I’m leaving it at that and sticking to embroidery instead ☺

@Schnuckelina: Yesterday the whole text didn't come through! What I actually wanted to say: Thanks for the clarification about feet getting too warm in the felt slippers. The size is also a problem for me, so I'll probably try a basket or something similar first.

I envy anyone who really knows how to use a sewing machine.

Here’s what my arm warmer looks like so far:

@bergli, yes, I can well believe that. For the slippers to look that perfect, it takes quite a bit of experience and strength for fulling. I’m sure her first ones didn’t look that great either. But once you’ve caught the bug, you always want to get better at it.
I think it’s lovely that you embroider the slippers. You two complement each other perfectly. Are the motifs (heart with edelweiss) hand-embroidered by you??? Unfortunately, I can’t enlarge the picture, so that I could maybe tell. In any case, the motif on the shoe makes it something special.

@Marlene, the start of the pattern for the wrist warmers looks very promising. I’m curious to see how it continues.

@wollbaerli, that’s a good plan. A felt basket doesn’t have to be any specific size. Any result will be right. You can just give it a try. Maybe you’ll feel like making more afterward, or maybe you’d rather stick with your sewing machine.

I wish everyone a wonderful day.
Best regards, Ina
