Hi Sternchen,
in Round 2, you increase in every stitch. That means you crochet 2 stitches into each of the 6 stitches from Round 1, so by the end of the round you’ll have a total of 12 stitches.
In Round 3, you make one increase and then work one single crochet. Repeat this pattern until the end of the round:
1 increase, 1 single crochet, 1 increase, 1 single crochet, 1 increase, 1 single crochet, 1 increase, 1 single crochet, 1 increase, 1 single crochet, 1 increase, 1 single crochet.
So you have (1 increase + 1 single crochet) x 6 = 18 stitches.
(2 stitches + 1 stitch) × 6 = 18 stitches
In Round 4, work 2 single crochets, then make an increase, and repeat this pattern until the end of the round.
So here you have (2 single crochets + 1 increase) x 6 = 24 stitches
(2 stitches + 2 stitches ) x 6 = 24 stitches
And so on.
In Round 19, make 1 decrease, 2 single crochets, and repeat this 5 times.
So:
1 decrease, 1 single crochet, 1 single crochet, 1 decrease, 1 single crochet, 1 single crochet, 1 decrease, 1 single crochet, 1 single crochet, 1 decrease, 1 single crochet, 1 single crochet, 1 decrease, 1 single crochet, 1 single crochet
then continue with 1 decrease and finish with 26 single crochets. Now you’ve reached the end of the round and have crocheted 42 stitches.
I hope I was able to make it a little easier for you to understand :o)
The first few times, I found it very helpful to write the process down like this; that way, if I got stuck, I could check off each stitch I’d crocheted ;o)
Best wishes
and good luck and, above all, have fun
Melanie
