It’s summer break for now, but school will be starting again soon. To sweeten the start of school without all the sweets, you can crochet these cute pencil toppers. It’s a small project perfect for using up leftover yarn, and you can whip it up quickly in your spare time—even on hot days! Crochet a few more right away, because they’ll be snapped up. (My grandchildren’s friends all want one, anyway!)

Oskar the octopus is brand new in my shop and is waiting for you to crochet him.

Here’s what you’ll need:
  • approx. 50 g Rico Creative Bobbel Dégradé, color 004 (800 m / 200 g), worked with 4 strands
  • approx. 20 g Schachenmayr Catania fine, white (165 m / 50 g)
  • 2.5 mm crochet hook
  • Stuffing fiber
  • 6 pieces of pipe cleaner wire, each approx. 15–16 cm long
  • 2 black half-beads (diameter 8 mm)
  • Glue
  • Yarn needle
Note: I crocheted the octopus using leftover yarn from a bobbel. Of course, you can also use any other yarn
, such as Catania cotton, Catania Fine, or something similar. The size may
vary slightly depending on the yarn you choose. Make sure the thickness of the
light blue and white yarns is roughly the same. Click here for the pattern!

Wisteria Blue Rain Bonsai made of beads and wire - and made with love

The lush abundance of flowers makes wisteria an exceptional eye-catcher that immediately brings warm summer nights and vacations to mind.

This bonsai made of beads and wire brings that feeling into your home all year round.

Have you never worked with beads and wire before? No problem.
Give it a try - the many detailed and thoroughly described step-by-step photos in the PDF pattern make it very easy for you to recreate.

You can find the pattern here

If you'd rather crochet something new:

Sweet hairband headband in a bow pattern with ice cream appliqué

The hairband in a bow pattern for little and big kids offers you lots of options for personal customization:

You can put together the colors of your favorite ice cream flavors however you like, and you can decide whether you prefer the fun 3D effect from the (very easy to make yourself) pompoms or would rather use the appliqué without bobbles.

Of course, you can also sew the ice cream cone appliqué onto a favorite bag, a sun hat, or a cool scarf.

The length of the hairband can be adjusted with more or fewer stitches and also with the drawstring.

This way to the pattern

This crocheted sunflower dish sponge brings sunshine into your kitchen, even when it’s raining outside!
The sunflower is crocheted using sponge yarn (Rico Creative Bubble).

You’ll need yellow, brown, and green. You’ll also need a 4.0 mm crochet hook, the crochet pattern and you’re ready to get started.

The yarn is easy to work with. It can be machine-washed at 60° and dries quickly. That way, you’ll always have a decorative and hygienically spotless dish sponge!

I also have a new crochet pattern...

Hidden under this cheeseburger is a roll of toilet paper...
Whether you want to crochet it for your bathroom or your car, it’s definitely an eye-catcher...

However, since it also stands firmly without the roll of toilet paper, you can of course use it for other purposes too, e.g. as gift packaging or as a hiding place for small items.

You can find the crochet pattern with detailed information on material usage and the stitches used here:

https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/items/52603/klorollenhut-cheeseburger-mit-pommes-haekelanleitung

Unfortunately, the pattern is not suitable for beginners.

Tunic "Mayla"
This wonderfully light and airy tunic is quick and easy to crochet.
The pattern is really fun - since you mostly insert your hook only under the chain stitches, it’s easy to work, easy on the eyes, and after a few rows it practically works up by itself.
The separate little tie belt gives you various styling and wearing options, as shown in the photos.

Here’s the pattern

"Caro-Line" is a classically beautiful yet modern shopping net. You can use it for many occasions—whether for daily errands, as a beach bag, as an everyday companion, or as a shopper, this chic net bag is always an eye-catcher.

Of course, you can make the handles any length you like.

The bag is quick and easy to crochet; the slightly trickier parts (increases at the bottom) are described in great detail in both text and crochet chart, so it is also well suited for beginners.

A new summer dress for Barbie—here you can crochet 4 different dresses, all of which feature the same lightweight waterfall neckline. The large opening at the top makes it easy to put on—you don’t need to sew on any buttons or hooks; the dress is simply slipped on.
For one dress, you’ll need 12–15 g of thin cotton yarn (Catania fine, Phil Coton2, sock yarn, or similar) and a 2.0 mm crochet hook.

Turquoise-blue sea washing around your feet, fresh air filling your lungs and letting you take a really deep breath, and along with it: delicate finds like softly shimmering shells and colorful starfish that you take home with you and that can bring you back to that vacation mood anytime, in any situation.

The cup sleeve is reminiscent of water and waves and fits any reusable cup and any coffee mug. That also makes it a lovely gift, e.g. for a coworker, and gives you a moment of vacation feeling during work whenever you see this cup warmer on her/his desk ;-)

Of course, you can also use the shell and starfish as appliqués and sew them onto your favorite bag, your scarf, or your favorite hat.

And of course the cup sleeve also fits an iced café latte :-)

You can find the pattern here

Or are you more in the mood for crafting today?

This decor, consisting of romantic hearts with beads and flowers, is wonderfully versatile as stylish table decor, as loving birthday decor, and of course as home decor (for the table, as a sun catcher in the window or on a cabinet, on a mirror).
The napkin rings can also be used as candle holder rings for long, slim candles.
The little hearts also make charming gift tags that are sure to make the recipient’s heart beat faster.

The richly illustrated and detailed pattern is also well suited for beginners and can be found here

And this pattern has been online for less than 12 hours:

The dreamcatcher feather symbolizes freedom, lightness, and creativity. That makes it a lovely companion for you or for someone who is important to you.

Even beginners can easily recreate this piece of jewelry from delicately shimmering beads and wire. In the pattern, every step is explained in detail with words and many detailed photos. Instructions for an adjustable-length textile necklace are also included so you can wear the pendant right away.

The dreamcatcher feather pendant is available here

With this, I’ve fulfilled a big wish for my granddaughter. She wanted a bag for her Puky and tricycle so she could carry her favorite doll with her.

You’ll need some crochet experience to make this.

What makes it special: there’s a pattern with photos and a print-only version.

A handmade baby or children's blanket is always a lovely gift. You can crochet this one using the materials of your choice (merino, cotton, acrylic, etc.) or your colorful leftovers. The only important thing is that all yarns give the same result for the gauge and that the care instructions (see yarn label) match.

We crochet 36 squares, which we then crochet together. Then the blanket gets a beautiful border—and the lovely piece is finished. You can also crochet the blanket smaller or larger.

The crochet pattern is very well suited for crochet beginners, although they will need some perseverance, because, as always, I explain and show everything very precisely and step by step.

Click here to see more photos, information, and the pattern.

Warm regards—yours, Ina
