Children's blanket 'Colorful mosaic of squares'

Beautiful children's blankets are always the perfect gift. Regardless of the occasion - whether it's a birthday or Christmas - they are always a very personal and loving gift. You can cover yourself up with a blanket, sit on it or play with it. You can make the blanket in any size you like, as it is made from individual pieces that are crocheted together at the end.

You can crochet the blanket in your favorite yarn qualities (merino, polyacrylic, cotton, etc.) or from leftover yarn. If you then take the child's favorite colors into account and combine them harmoniously, it could become the perfect new favorite blanket.

It is easy to make, even for beginners, as I explain and show everything step by step. However, we do need to be diligent and persistent. First we crochet lots of identical squares, which we crochet together at the end. As a decorative finish, we crochet a single-colored relief-like edge. The result is a beautiful new blanket for your child, grandchild or for yourself.

The pattern is suitable for crochet beginners with diligence and perseverance. You should have some basic knowledge of crochet. We crochet chain stitches, single crochets, double crochets, relief stitches from the front, relief stitches from the back and slip stitches. My blanket measures 39 x 39 inches. Other sizes are possible - depending on the yarn used and personal crochet style. In general, you can make the blanket larger or smaller, but crochet more or less squares. You can find more details in the instructions.

For this blanket you may choose the yarn according to your preferences. Note that all yarns used must have the same quality / care instructions and run length, or the stitch test with different yarns comes to the same result. So you can also use your scraps. To do this, choose the appropriate crochet hook. In the tutorial I give you yarn suggestions and explain everything in more detail. My blanket I have crocheted from colored scraps and with crochet hook size 3mm (UK size: 2,5; US size: 11).
