it is hard for me to voice criticism, since the patterns in the blog are free, but I do have to complain about serious quality issues. When I read posts like that, I am guaranteed to buy NOT A SINGLE pattern from these authors!
For comparison:

Good: https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/blog/184/segelboot-kostenlose-haekelapplikation (almost all by ursulapetra)

But here are some posts at the top that are really awful (there is no point in linking to individual ones, since the links will be moderated away anyway):
https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/blog/all
Bad: hats from Saturday, August 8, 2015 and from Tuesday, August 4, 2015
Bad: shawls from Wednesday, August 5, 2015
Bad: amigurumi from Friday, July 24, 2015
Honestly. Isn't someone embarrassed to publish something like that? It is the first thing the customer looks at, after all.
@Moderatoren, you would be better off locking these posts away. They hurt everyone here. If I saw such a "bad" post here first, I would run away and never come back.
I want this to kick off quality control and an improvement in quality on the blog!
Hi Karo,
I’ve read your post several times and still don’t know what to say about it—or whether I should say anything at all. I’m a bit torn on this. On the one hand, I’d like to defend the hardworking ladies on the blog, since they’re giving something away for free that nobody asked for. As far as I know, there’s no money or anything at all for the blog posts.
On the other hand, though, I also think that these blog posts are advertising or a calling card for the paid patterns; if the blog posts are good, the patterns will surely get clicked on more often and maybe even sell better.
I think it would be good if a mod or operator edited out what you commented on as “bad” — that really doesn’t have to be there. Although it technically falls under freedom of speech, even if people aren’t really supposed to be put down here in the forum, right?
On the topic of quality control and improving quality:
I think the people who write blog posts are old enough or experienced enough to know that their blog posts are their calling card and can also influence the sales of their other patterns. In that regard, I assume they’ll put in the necessary time and effort. I don’t know how long it takes to write a blog post when you’re also selling patterns here on CP at the same time. As a layperson, it’s often hard to really get a sense of that or know what it’s like.
If there’s no money in it, I don’t know whether quality control by CP makes sense—then maybe no one will write on the blog anymore.
I hope a good solution can be found, though I’m not sure how the other people here on CP see it. Have more people been annoyed by the blog? The issue you’re raising here is relatively new, I think.
I took a look at the patterns mentioned, and I can understand the frustration, since the patterns for the scarf and amigurumi are difficult for non-professionals to follow.
As for the hats... there’s really nothing more to say—they’re simple beanies, though I do realize that you’d have to have crocheted a hat before to understand it.
It’s true that it’s a shame, but the designers can only make changes if you bring it up with them directly.
Sometimes it’s hard to make patterns more precise when something seems logical to you and doesn’t seem worth explaining.
Unfortunately, I made that mistake myself at first, but someone kindly pointed it out to me, and now I pay attention to that.
I just took a look at this too, and I’m wondering if the paid patterns look like this as well???
The bottom line is simple: Not everyone who’s great at crafts can also write patterns!
