Chef Owl is a funny and practical keychain or bag charm. Hidden behind the apron is a small pocket that closes with a zipper. There’s room here for a shopping cart token or some loose change for the parking meter. It’s a great little gift for all hobby cooks and anyone who loves owls! You can crochet the owl using just a little leftover yarn.

The colorful owl potholders bring color and cheerfulness to your everyday life and your kitchen. They are crocheted double-layered, so you can slip your hand in from the bottom.

I used Schachenmayr Catania cotton yarn (125 m/50 g) and a 2.5 mm crochet hook. For both owls, you need about 100 g each in red and green and about 50 g each in turquoise and orange.

The little, cuddly unicorn will become a loyal companion, comforter, and sleep helper, because it smells so wonderfully familiar like Mom and Dad. You can make this sweet cuddly companion yourself with lots of love in every stitch using this pattern. The pattern is written in great detail over 15 pages, and many pictures help you with the process. To further support your baby’s development, you can insert a rattle disc into the head and fill the hooves with crinkle foil.To crochet the cuddle cloth, you will need:A crochet hook size 2–2.5, yarn; I recommend Mondial Bio Soft Cotton 50g-180 m. This yarn is made of 100% organic cotton, is very soft, and has been tested for harmful substances, making it ideal for baby toys. (Alternatively, Katia “Candy” for Baby or Online Cotton Baby.) You can also use a different yarn, but keep in mind that this will change the size of the cloth. You will need: scraps in yellow for the horn and hooves, black scraps for the eyes, mint 50 g (color 291) for the top side of the cloth, white 50 g for the underside of the cloth, and various colorful scraps for the rainbow appliqué.Click here to go directly to the pattern

How about this cute owl as a door guard? It’s especially popular with kids, but parents love it too. Best to crochet one right away for every room door.

Even beginners with basic skills can easily crochet this owl. All the steps are clearly described and shown. By the way, leftover yarn can be put to excellent use here.

  • Height: 19 cm (including horns/ears)
  • Width: 9 cm (from tip of one ear to tip of the other)

    • 33g Color 2 (pouch, eyes, strap)—orange in this case

    • 2 g black (eyes)

If you like owls, you’ll love this jumping jack owl! It’s very decorative, but it can also be played with—when you pull the string, it’s not just the wings that lift: they and the tail also fan out—just like a real owl!

The Jumping Jack Owl is made from cardstock and measures approximately 22.5 x 27.5 cm. The overlapping layers of cardstock glued together as part of the design make it very sturdy. You don’t need any special prior knowledge to make this owl—just a little patience and some crafting experience.

Knitting pattern for little owl Paula

Paula is 11 cm tall if you knit her with Catania, as I did. But you can also use this little owl to work up your leftover yarn.

The pattern explains the pretty design on her plump belly in detail. There is a knitting chart, and every step is described with lots of pictures.

Also as a mobile, pincushion, or as a pendant on a spring/autumn bouquet in colorful shades, she’s always an eye-catcher.

Here is the pattern and more information about what additional materials you need.

Let yourself be enchanted by the sweet Mathilde the Unicorn

She’s designed to be extra large so that a music box mechanism fits inside, making her a lovely gift for a new baby. Filled with rattle elements and crinkle foil, she’s sure to delight little children, and in a simple version she also makes a lovely good-luck charm for adults.
