- Hello to all knitting and crochet enthusiasts!
- I have a problem—or maybe it’s just a mistake in my thinking, a misunderstanding, or even all of the above? I’d like to knit a bag; I have all the yarn I need at home, but now I’m wondering how many skeins I should join together first? 2–4, or even all 8 at once? But then the “yarn length” will decrease, right? Can you maybe help me figure this out? Unfortunately, the pattern doesn’t say any more than that. So: How many skeins should I join together to end up with a 50-meter strand? I also have a picture of the bag, if that’s needed. Help!
- 8 skeins of knitting yarn in gray, multicolored mottled (70% acrylic, 15% wool, 15% polyamide, 50 m/50 g)
First, knit a 50-meter-long strand in gray over two fingers. Securely join the individual balls using weaver’s knots (see basic instructions). The finished strand now serves as “knitting yarn.” For the bag, using the thick, homemade knitted strand, cast on 12 sts using the arm-knitting technique and knit 22 rows. Bind off the stitches and leave 15 cm of the knitted strand. Unravel the rest of the strand and cut the threads. Weave in the ends along the side of the rectangular knitted piece.
