Bookmarks are always a great idea for using up leftover yarn! They’re quick and easy to crochet, and they always make a hit as gifts. Here’s a crocheted bookmark for fairy tale fans: The Frog Prince!

Tip: Use the thinnest cotton yarn possible (e.g., Catania fine) so the bookmark isn’t too bulky!
The pattern is also suitable for beginners who’ve already done a little crocheting.

The pattern, together with the sock table, can be used for additional sock sizes up to shoe size 20 .

The download includes 4 files:

If you have larger amounts of leftover yarn available, you can crochet this funny bird of paradise.
Pino Bird of Paradise is a totally crazy leftover-yarn gobbler. He has devoured so much leftover yarn that he has become round as a ball.

Once finished, Pino will be approx. 32 cm tall (when using the specified hook size and yarn weight). You will receive a detailed 20-page pattern with lots of photos to follow along.

I like to turn my small leftover cotton yarn into unusual pieces of jewelry, such as this choker.

Depending on the color of the leftovers, the results are always different and very striking one-of-a-kind pieces.
Theresa choker

The only important thing is that the leftovers used for a project are made of the same material and have the same thickness. If they’re very soft, you can easily stiffen the finished pieces with laundry starch.

In my shop, you’ll also find patterns for other pretty pieces of jewelry—using different color combinations creates endless variations!

Why not make lots of different color variations for yourselves?

These little Christmas tree baubles are perfect for using up leftover yarn. They are quick to crochet and also suitable for beginners. In no time at all, you'll have your very own custom tree decorations finished

I used leftover cotton yarn with a yardage of 105 m / 50 g and a 3.5 mm crochet hook. The pattern includes 11 pages and 32 pictures. Every step is described in detail with words and pictures.

The nice thing about leftover yarn projects is that they’re often so colorful! That always makes me happiest. You use what you have, and afterwards you have something small in your hands. Bookmarks, for example, are ideal for leftovers.
These here are knitted in a pretty lace pattern (there’s a knitting chart for it), and about 20 m of cotton is enough for one.

You can find the pattern here.

For example, if you have half a ball of yarn left over from a sweater, you can use it to knit a headband that matches the sweater. Mine is made of merino wool with a yardage of 105m per 50g. The pattern is simple and consists of knit stitches and purl stitches.

When it comes to choosing colors, there are no limits to your imagination with this knitted bracelet. You really only need two tiny scraps of cotton yarn. A lovely gift idea and finished in no time.

Here’s the pattern.
