Dear users, dear authors,
I’m the one here who starts the vast majority of threads. That’s the honest truth. :-)
If you’d like, you’re welcome to outdo me by starting your own threads. No advertising, of course. Only I’m allowed to start promotional threads.
I’d just like to know if—and how much—inspiration, comfort, or motivation you get from my threads. That way, I can adjust the promotional threads, chat threads, trend threads, campaign threads, etc.
Thanks.
P.S.: Yes, I know there are always a lot of promotional threads. But as I’ve written many times before, many of our (smaller) authors rely on this promotional opportunity. So I ask for your understanding in this regard.
It’ll be hard to surpass you, and the title “King of Advertising Threads” belongs to you alone—we’re the subjects who more or less fill these threads.
I do get inspired; for example, thanks to the advertising threads, I created savings bundles in my shop because there was a thread about it. Sometimes I also really have to think about what fits where, etc.
As for the other threads, I do get inspired and sometimes write a little something in them, but that’s about it. Maybe I should show a bit more creativity in this area too and take the initiative once in a while.
In any case, thank you very much for your great ideas.
I always check out the promotional threads. Though sometimes I wish they were a bit more focused. Because quite often, there are items that get featured in every single thread that’s started. Does it always fit? Maybe it’s a matter of opinion ;-) But generally, I really like the promotions! They’ve actually led me to various shops, where I’ve either made a purchase or added items to my wish list. You can quickly tell where the style or taste is a good fit.
A UFO thread would definitely motivate me, too, if I had one! The “wool diet” doesn’t really apply to me—at least not right now. Who knows what will happen in 3 months...
Thanks for your feedback, mifas.
I’m well aware that there are patterns that appear in almost every current thread, often with the exact same text and the exact same image. We’ve, of course, discussed this with the authors. If more users were to voice their opinions on this, it might lead to a change.
The promotional threads are intentionally broad in scope. We have many authors covering different topics, and I don’t want to exclude anyone. If the topics were too specific, not everyone could participate, and that would be a shame.
The UFO event is repeated regularly. You definitely have a fair chance at the title.
I wouldn’t mind one or two more focused promotional threads per week either. After all, there are plenty of other, more general ones where everyone can participate.
In the heat of the moment or when in a hurry, authors often don’t actually read the details in the more narrowly focused promotional threads. If I have to remove the thematically inappropriate patterns, that looks silly too.
However, I might soon get a technical update to address this, and then we’ll be able to define the topics more narrowly.
Do you have any suggestions for more specific topics?
OK, that’s not too narrow. I’ll do that on Monday.
I usually make the editorial plan for the new week on Friday.
I’ll add that to my editorial plan right away. :-)
For any requests that reach me by Friday noon or afternoon, I can still check whether they can be accommodated the following week.
That is, unless
- we’ve had a similar topic shortly beforehand, in which case it will be postponed.
- the schedule is already full, in which case it will have to wait until the next week.
- there aren’t enough patterns for this topic. In that case, however, I may be able to pick out the highlights from the shop myself and offer a few styling tips. I reserve the right to make editorial changes.
