The bracelet is crocheted in one piece, so there’s no tedious weaving
in ends (just the starting and ending threads). So grab some yarn and a
crochet hook and get started.

I often find that I have leftovers from sock yarn. If you have around 90 meters, for example, you can knit yourself some wrist warmers.

They’re easy to knit (a tutorial shows how to make the little holes) and look lovely. They’re knitted on 3 mm needles.

Crochet Pattern for Beginners: Hedwig the Owl Pot Holder

Getting started is hard—we’ve all heard that saying.
Ninety-five percent of crochet beginners start with a pot holder to practice the stitches they’ve learned... In most cases, it’s a pretty square, and those who are brave enough might even use different colors.

But does it always have to be this square pot holder ... that usually ends up hidden away somewhere?
A while back, one of my students asked me this question… and what can I say… I thought about it for a moment and told her… “No.”

And that’s how Hedwig came to be… A pot holder that doesn’t get hidden away somewhere, practical, decorative, and even perfect as a gift.

A beginner’s project that’s sure to impress.

It requires very little material, so even small leftovers of yarn are enough to bring Hedwig to life.

The detailed 13-page pattern shows you how. Every step is explained and illustrated with numerous step-by-step photos, so you’ll achieve great results in no time.

What you’ll need:
  • Leftover yarn of any type and color
  • Crochet hook size 4.0

This little guy is about 13 cm tall and looks great in any color.
Single crochet, increases, and decreases. Add a little stuffing or even some leftover yarn, and this bag charm or keychain can be with you as early as the next day. If you’re finally ready to do something with your leftover yarn, this bunny is just the thing ;-)
Still have some thick winter yarn at home? No problem. You can use that to crochet the bunny, too. Then you’ll have the perfect cuddly companion for the couch :-)
These bunnies are quick to crochet. It’s best to get started right away ;-)

Have fun crocheting!

   The cat...                                   The dog....

The charms are quick to make and a cute way to use up leftover yarn.
For all cat fans and dog lovers. As a keychain or bag charm.
10–20 g leftover wool/yarn, the matching crochet hook (2–3), some stuffing, and, if you like, two small eyes if you don’t want to embroider them. Chain stitches, single crochet, increases and decreases. Then the charm is practically finished :-) Anyone who has crocheted now and then will enjoy the cat and/or the dog.

Have fun crocheting :-)

In the photo, you can see that small, large, or very large plastic buckets can be transformed with leftover yarn into practical craft buckets. They provide space for your crafting tools and your current project. That way, you always have everything you need together.

The crochet pattern is also very suitable for crochet beginners. I show and describe everything to you in great detail and step by step on 18 pages.

Materials for a 5-liter bucket:

  • Round 5-liter plastic bucket (height up to 20 cm; commercial kitchens and restaurants give them away for free)
  • Size 3.5 crochet hook
  • Needle, scissors, measuring tape

Even kids can make this knitting dolly necklace using their favorite yarn.
Leftover yarn suitable for needle sizes 3 to 4 works best.

For my necklace, I used the ZauberEi “Kunterbunt” yarn and incorporated a few Pandora-style beads.
