Cute Christmas Frame - quick & easy to crochet 



Sometimes you just don’t know what to give for Christmas or St. Nicholas Day. Many people ask for money or gift cards, and the packaging for those is usually pretty boring.

With this crocheted Christmas frame, you can not only give a lovely family photo, but also package a gift card or money decoratively.

The frame is very quick to make and also great for beginners.

Difficulty level: Easy 

What you need:

Gründl Happy yarn (100 g = 250 m yardage)

• Red, approx. 30–40 g
• A few grams of baby pink, a little black and white
• Stuffing and googly eyes
• A picture frame in a matching color for 10x15 photos, with a frame width/depth of 1 cm x 2 cm
• Crochet hook size 4, yarn needle, and scissors
• (Spray) adhesive, glue gun if needed
• A pom-pom maker (two cardboard discs also work as a pom-pom maker; there are videos about this on YouTube)

What you need to know:

Who doesn’t know them? Rudolf the reindeer with his red nose and his best friend Santa Claus. These two fellows belong in every living room.

The decorative piece consists of two parts, each of which can also be used
individually. Finished size with the yarn listed below: approx. 7 cm in diameter.

The PDF pattern is richly illustrated.

All you need is a yarn scrap of approx. 10 g of metallic yarn, e.g. used here: Nora Madeira, 25 g – 100 m, 80% viscose, 20% metallized polyester, for crochet hook size 2.5–3.0.
However, any yarn with a matching crochet hook size can also be used. The size of the finished piece will then change according to the yarn.

The crocheted jars “Lichterzauber” are a lovely decorating idea for Christmas. All you need is leftover yarn and an empty large yogurt jar, and you’re ready to get started. The lanterns are also great as gifts.

Austermann Softy (98% merino, 2% PAM) – hand wash, 50 g = 53 m, knitting needles 10.0 to 12.0 – here, size 10 circular needles with a cable length of at least 80 cm. Gauge according to the label: 8 sts = 10 cm

• Size XS/S 500 g
• Size M 550 g
• Size L 600 g
• Size XL/XXL 700 g

Stitch markers, measuring tape, scissors, a second circular needle (or thread the stitches onto a contrasting thread) to hold the stitches, and a needle for weaving in the ends.

You can also use any other yarn of your choice with the appropriate needle size .

The following knitting skills are required:
casting on, knit and purl stitches, edge stitches, binding off, knitting in rows and rounds, picking up stitches. A knitting class is not included, but helpful links are provided.

We’ll be decorating the Christmas tree again this year! To make sure all the decorations are ready in time, you might want to start crafting them now.



  These ornaments are mainly made from corrugated cardboard, and since corrugated cardboard is very easy to bend, making them is a breeze. Of course, the colors shown are just a suggestion—the ornaments can just as easily be made in any other color. When finished, they measure approximately 8 x 7 x 5 cm and are also very well suited for craft beginners with good fine motor skills.

Advent calendars are a great idea, but if you want to make them yourself, they do have one small drawback: they have to consist of 24 containers, like it or not, and that takes a while to finish. To save yourself the Christmas stress, it’s best to start crafting right away – then you’ll still have enough time to think about what to hide inside :-).
 

 
This Advent calendar is approx. 17.5 x 22 x 20.5 cm in size and is made from photo cardstock. It’s very easy to make, but so that everything fits together properly in the end, you should work very accurately.
