Knit socks without an annoying heel 38/39

Socks turn out simply perfect with gradient yarn. This pattern includes a very easy-to-knit heel, with no calculations, and it fits wonderfully. The pattern is written especially for everyone who doesn't really like calculating the heel and heel flap. Everything is explained in detail, and pictures are included too.

Crochet pattern: Reversible Cozy Spot

With this crochet pattern, you can create a simple and wonderful spot for your cat—perfect for lazy lounging. This cozy spot invites your feline friend to dream of tiny paws or dangerously large claws.

The color gradient of the piece comes from the color structure of the soft wool; only the appliqués are crocheted in solid colors using cotton.

Do you have a beautiful Bobbel at home just waiting to be used for the perfect shawl? Then you’ve come to the right place.

https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/items/27820/haekelanleitung-dreieckstuch-hexen

The shawl is easy to crochet because the pattern repeats continuously. This means it can also be made larger. Using the 4-ply / 800m Bobbel, it measured 160 x 70 cm, and using the 3-ply / 1000m Bobbel, it measured 185 x 80 cm. Both were crocheted with a size 3 hook. The pattern is explained in writing and in a crochet chart. There is a step-by-step photo tutorial for the witch’s broom. If you like, it can be made with the finishing border. The shawl was test-crocheted. Materials:
  • 4-ply Bobbel, 200g / 800lm, by Wooly Hugs, color 07 (green-yellow) or
  • 3-ply Bobbel, 200g / 1000lm, by Cotton Flowers, color 108 A (blue-gray)
  • Crochet hook size 3
Skills:
  • chain stitch
  • single crochet
  • double crochet
  • front post double crochet
  • back post double crochet
  • front post single crochet

With the help of this pattern, you can crochet a beautiful loop in pastel colors made of pure silk for summer. The beautiful color transitions are created by the gradient of the yarn used.
  • The pattern is fully illustrated and suitable for beginners with basic crochet skills. This pattern is quite simple because you only need to know how to make chain stitches, single crochet, double crochet, and slip stitches.
Yarn requirements: 250g total, with a yardage of 100m per 50g. Crochet hook size 4.

I've fallen for gradient yarn over the past few weeks. The first three shawls are finished, and the next ones are in progress. Here I'm introducing you to the patterns for 2 knitted triangular shawls and one crocheted triangular shawl.

Triangular Shawl Pelikan - knitted
A delicate lace pattern gives this shawl a touch of romance. The shawl is knitted from bottom to top; if you can crochet, you can add a picot round for a great finish. The pattern is suitable for beginners, but you should know knit and purl stitches, picking up stitches, and binding off. For the edging, single crochet and chain stitches are crocheted.
You will need:
  • a 150 g gradient yarn cake (I used a 3-ply blend yarn with 50% cotton, 50% acrylic in the colors candy/ baby pink/ pewter
    )
  • 4.5 mm knitting needles
  • 2.5 mm crochet hook
Here is the pattern for the Pelikan shawl
Triangular Shawl Wild Berries - crocheted
This enchanting shawl is crocheted with one 150 g gradient yarn cake. And the best part is: The pattern is absolutely beginner-friendly. Only chain stitches, single crochet, and double crochet are used.
You will need:
  • 150 g gradient yarn (baby pink/ amethyst/ candy/ raspberry), 50% cotton/ 50% acrylic, 750 m/ 150 g
  • 4.0 mm crochet hook
Here is the pattern for the Wild Berries shawl

Triangular Shawl Ocean - knitted
A delicate lace pattern gives this shawl a touch of romance. And this very lace pattern makes the shawl look stylish from both sides. It is knitted from right to left, creating the asymmetrical gradient pattern.
The pattern is suitable for beginners, but you should know knit and purl stitches, picking up stitches, and binding off.
You will need:
  • a 100 g gradient yarn cake (I used a blend yarn with 50% cotton, 50% acrylic in the colors white/ riviera/ gentian)
  • 4.5 mm knitting needles
Here is the pattern for the Ocean triangular shawl

Perfect for Bobbel is the crochet pattern for the shawl Tausendschön.

Tausendschön is a large, beautiful, cozy shawl. Because of its slightly asymmetrical shape, it can be worn in many different ways. The little flowers, which also gave the scarf its name, are crocheted on as you go and are the highlight!

The shawl can be crocheted with a Bobbel or with other yarns. The size can also be varied freely.

Materials needed:
  • approx. 1500 meters of yarn, 3- to 4-ply (e.g. lace yarn, gradient Bobbel, or sock yarn)
  • crochet hook size 3–4
  • sewing needle
  • scissors
  • kitchen scale (to calculate the amount used)
  • some spray starch if needed
Skills needed:
  • chain stitches
  • single crochet
  • slip stitches
  • double crochet
  • crocheting stitches together
A photo tutorial shows how the little flowers are crocheted.

Finished measurements: approx. 184–90 cm (but it can also be made smaller or larger).
The pattern is 12 pages long and includes written instructions as well as charts, a schematic drawing, and a photo tutorial. Difficulty level: easy.

You can also knit beautifully with Bobbels and/or gradient yarn.
The knitted shawl Tinuviel looks especially lovely in gradient yarn.

Tinuviel is a large, crescent-shaped shawl that was designed especially for Schoppel’s “Laceball 100” and “Zauberball 100” lace yarn, but can also be knitted with any other lace yarn (or even a Bobbel). It is knitted from the top down; even increases along the edge and within the shawl create its shape.

Required materials:
  • approx. 800 meters of lace yarn (e.g., Laceball by Schoppel)
  • circular knitting needle size 3–4 mm
  • beads (e.g., rocailles)
  • a piece of very thin wire or dental floss
  • sewing needle
  • scissors
  • kitchen scale

Required skills:

  • knit stitches
  • purl stitches
  • yarn overs
  • knitting stitches together

Anyone who decides to add beads will find a small tutorial for knitting in the beads within the pattern.
The pattern is 9 pages long, contains detailed explanations of charts (knitting charts—not written-out instructions), and a schematic drawing.
Difficulty level: intermediate

The “Rosa Wölkchen” shawl is a beautiful crochet shawl featuring a light lace pattern that’s perfect for beginners and ideal for gradient yarn.

“Rosa Wölkchen” is crocheted from side to side, and the border—which resembles little clouds—is worked right into the shawl. The shape is created through even increases and decreases. You can recreate this shawl using many different types of yarn—whether it’s a yarn cake or sock yarn—there are no limits to your creativity. Even leftover yarn can be put to great use with this design.

Materials needed:
  • approx. 600–800 meters of yarn (depending on the yarn’s yardage)
  • Crochet hook in the appropriate size (if you crochet very tightly, choose a hook one size larger)
  • Kitchen scale or other digital scale to determine half the amount used
  • Needle for weaving in the ends
Skills required:
  • Chain stitches
  • Single crochet
  • Double crochet
The finished shawl measures approximately 200 x 90 cm.
The pattern is 15 pages long and includes a detailed photo tutorial for each row, as well as detailed charts and a schematic.
Difficulty level: easy.

3 Techniques - Knitted Möbius Scarf, Cowl, Headband

(For purchase/download, please click the image)

Here, the basic principle and three cast-on techniques for knitting Möbius scarves/loops are presented. Try them out and choose your favorite method :-)

The PDF pattern is richly illustrated and contains 2 patterns:

Model 1 – Colorful
- is a Möbius loop/scarf with a circumference of approx. 90 cm and a height of approx. 20 cm, which can be worn wonderfully in different variations as a shoulder warmer and neck warmer (see picture gallery).

For this we only need 1 ball of Woolly Hugs Bandy, here color no. 7, 100 g – 210 m, 100% cotton, gauge according to the ball band: 14 sts x 20 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm; circular knitting needle size 6.0 with a cable length of 1 m; stitch marker; measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends. If needed, leftover yarn of a slightly thinner, color-coordinated yarn (e.g., Record 210 – potholder yarn, here in green) and crochet hook size 4.5.

Model II – Möbius Cowl in Milk White nestles wonderfully around the neck like a turtleneck, but can also be worn as a headband. This model makes a wonderful gift and can be knitted in just a few hours.

For this we only need 1 ball of merino yarn, 50 g – 85 m, e.g., Merino 85 by Austermann or Schachenmayr, 100% merino, according to the ball band for needle size 6–7 and a gauge of 16 sts x 22 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm.
Used here: circular knitting needle size 6.0, cable length 80 cm to 100 cm; stitch marker; measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends.

Both models are worked in a simple reversible rib pattern.

These knitting skills are required:
casting on stitches, knit and purl stitches, knitting in the round, knit stitches together, purl stitches together, yarn over, bind off.
A basic knitting course is not included, but link tips are provided.

By the way: there is an Excel table for calculating a Möbius scarf (click me); this formula-based table is a tool for calculating your desired measurements for a knitted or crocheted Möbius scarf and the corresponding number of cast-on stitches according to your personal gauge.
For this, the Excel spreadsheet program or another spreadsheet program that can be downloaded free of charge from the internet, such as LibreOffice, is required.

Crochet Pattern: Poncho with Möbius Scarf Collar (Loop) – Easy

Winter is definitely coming!

(Click the image to purchase/download )

Quick and easy to crochet...

With this crochet method, you can decide how big you want the poncho to be as you go—just stop crocheting when you’re happy with it.

The poncho and Möbius scarf are made with thick gradient yarn (100 g – 100 m) and a size 8.0 crochet hook, but can be crocheted with any yarn of your choice .

The PDF pattern includes instructions for both the poncho and the Möbius scarf and is illustrated , but it is not a crochet course in itself.

You’ll need the following crochet skills :
chain stitches, single crochet, slip stitches, crocheting in rows, and crocheting in rounds.

By the way: with a Möbius scarf, the pattern you create is mirrored—that is, one horizontal half appears as the right outer side, while the other half appears as the left inner side of the pattern. This creates sophisticated effects depending on how the scarf is draped and how the pattern falls.
And the Möbius technique is very simple when crocheting.
