Pegasus / Winged Horse (not an advertising thread)

Dear users, dear authors,
We have plenty of unicorn patterns as well as horse patterns in the shop.
But we hardly have any patterns for a Pegasus = winged horse from the world of ancient legends / mythology.
What do you think?
Do you like the idea?

I think the Pegasus is almost even more beautiful than the unicorn. I’d definitely like that. Though more for looking at than for crocheting it myself, since I don’t crochet amigurumi. ;-)

I think both are really nice, though the Pegasus probably isn’t as popular as the unicorn. Maybe I’ll come up with something for it sometime :-)

Well, in a pinch, maybe you could give the unicorn wings too. :-)

A unicorn with wings is not a Pegasus. A Pegasus doesn’t have a horn. Depictions of winged unicorns are very common, and people often equate them with Pegasus. But that’s not correct. ;-)
Basically, it’s also not really correct to give a unicorn wings.
But as we all know, imagination knows no bounds. :-)

I just designed mine back then because I thought it was pretty. It wasn’t until later that I looked into it. In the world of fables, a so-called Alicorn is born when a male Pegasus and a female unicorn have a foal.

Really? I learn something new here every day! I didn’t know there was actually a technical term for a winged unicorn.
I know all these characters through my daughter. Whether they have wings or not, a horn or no horn—she loves them all!

Well, my unicorn has wings—
I designed it specifically so that you can crochet it as either
a winged Pegasus or a unicorn.

even if that isn't historically or academically correct, in the crafting world we simply assume that a unicorn with wings is a Pegasus.
We don't have to tell the experts on Greek and Roman mythology that. :-)
