Dear users, dear authors,
traditional costumes are part of our historical heritage . (Regional) traditions should be preserved so they are not forgotten. Aside from that, traditional costumes are sometimes simply beautiful and look especially good on children. Here in this thread, fans of traditional costumes will find suitable patterns available for immediate download.

@Authors,
please post thematically relevant patterns here. Please limit yourself to a maximum of 2–3 patterns per author. Don’t forget to include an image, a link, and information about the materials, the text, the difficulty level, and what makes the patterns special.

A simply made girls’ cardigan — but really jazzed up by the trim!

This vest has no button placket at all — so it is worn open.

This pattern is designed for size 116–122.
However, the included cut and gauge make it easy to make any size!

For more details, just click on the image below.

A lovely sleeveless hooded vest for transitional weather—traditional style and baby, I love this combination :-)

The little pockets add a bit of extra charm to the little jacket. The hood provides just the right style contrast!

This pattern is designed for sizes 92–98 .
However, the included schematic and gauge make it possible to knit any size!

Even the littlest ones are dressed smartly in a traditional vest like this. In other colors and with different buttons, the style changes—it's worth trying out.

Baby Traditional Knitted Jacket Size 50/56 incl. gauge conversion table

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

..THE traditional classic in a tiny size..

For this easy-to-knit baby traditional jacket, you will need approx. 100 g, e.g. Zimba Top by Schoeller+Stahl in classic traditional gray + 50 g (or leftover yarn) Regia 4-ply for the edging knitted in traditional green, knitting needle size 3.0, and, if needed, a crochet hook 3 - 3.5 for the decorative foundation chain on the front band.

The PDF knitting pattern contains 15 pictures incl. a link to my free measurement tables.

You will also receive in the download an Excel table (a spreadsheet program, e.g. Excel or LibreOffice—available free of charge on the internet—is required for this) for quickly converting your gauge to your desired size (can be used for all knit/crochet pieces).

Basic knitting skills are assumed (i.e. the latter are not illustrated).
Required knitting skills:  long-tail cast-on, knit stitches, bind off, increase stitches (from the strand between stitches), yarn over (for the buttonholes), knit 2 stitches together.

By the way: This jacket can also be knitted without sleeves (then crochet around the armholes in green once with single crochet) as a vest.
