Polar Bear

Dear users, dear authors,
2017 is all about polar bears.
The polar bear at the Berlin Zoo finally has a name: his name is Fritz.
The Hellabrunn Zoo also has polar bear offspring; it’s a girl, and the name is supposed to begin with Q.
I assume that polar bears will also play an important role in the crafting world in 2017.
In this thread, you can discover patterns for polar bears, or patterns for bears of all kinds. If you change the yarn color from brown to white, then nobody has to know that it wasn’t a polar bear pattern.

This is Bärtram. He is a good-natured cuddle buddy. Ideal for little and big bear fans. 
Bärtram can be crocheted with any yarn. Whether acrylic or cotton... Bärtram always looks great....  
120 g yarn (50 g/150 m) for the body and 55 g for the hat and scarf. A crochet hook and some stuffing....
The ambitious beginner will have just as much fun with it as the “crochet addict” :-)

♦ Crochet yarn in various colors; recommended: cotton with a meterage of 125 m / 50 g ♦ Crochet hooks: • One hook in the smallest size recommended for the yarn • One hook approx. 1 mm larger ♦ Craft stuffing or similar for filling the bear ♦ Safety eyes (if desired, in your preferred color and size) ♦ One button (in your preferred color and size)

You should be familiar with the following: crocheting in rounds, crocheting in rows, chain stitches, single crochet, double crochet, half double crochet, color changes, decreases, and increases.

Iluq is a wonderful cuddly companion with a stylish cable pattern on his belly and back. Because of the cable pattern, he’s a bit more complicated to knit, but the pattern also includes instructions without cables if needed :-) “Iluq” means “Frost” in Inuktitut, by the way …

Unfortunately, the pattern is only available separately in English, because the German pattern is part of one of my cuddly toy books and I’m not allowed to publish the pattern separately.

Carlos the Brown Bear wouldn’t mind having a polar bear buddy knitted from his pattern using white yarn ... then his outfit could also come in completely different colors :-)

The cuddly friend bear can of course also be crocheted as a polar bear. And even then, he’s a beloved bear for grown-ups and, of course, especially for little ones. After all, he can be a real friend to discover the world with, take to bed, play with, or simply love.

He is crocheted with thicker yarn, which also makes him an XL bear measuring approx. 55 cm tall. A real giant, in other words.
