Dear users, dear authors,
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Are you doing okay with the change in weather?
Do you have a fun weekend project planned?
I think it’s great that it’s finally raining here. It just didn’t have to dump a whole month’s worth of rain in a single day. But you have to take it as it comes.
The weather is perfect for working indoors. I’d like to keep working on the hooded vest for my son. I started it in the summer and thought I’d have plenty of time to finish it before it got cooler. But who could have guessed it would happen so fast?
I’m also wishing everyone a wonderful weekend—with rain that isn’t as heavy as some forecasts predicted.
With this sudden change, it feels much colder to me. After winter, when it’s 13 or 14 degrees, I think, “Yay, spring is coming!” and quickly reach for short-sleeved clothes. Now, when it’s 14 degrees, I think it’s about to freeze. 😂 But I definitely find it much more comfortable for sleeping!
The crochet sweater is finished, the “temperature snake” keeps growing, and now I’m knitting their “hot” leftover yarn into squares for the patchwork blanket. I don’t think we’ll hit over 26 degrees again at noon. Other than that, I’m going to browse through my downloads for my next project.
Thanks, Josefa—I’m wishing you a great weekend, too, and everyone else as well.
It’s cooled off a ton here, and once again it happened way too fast for my circulation and my head—I’m running around like a piece of counterfeit money ;-) totally off track, even though I still prefer it this way to that scorching heat we had just a week ago. Okay, I guess I should put my socks back on, but you sleep so much better this way—and you don’t keep waking up because it’s too hot.
I hope everyone here has a weekend without constant rain.
We live in southeastern Bavaria, right in the middle of the heaviest rainfall areas. Part of the field in front of our house is already under water. And it’s supposed to rain continuously through Sunday—with a break, then resuming on Monday.
Now we’re curious to see how this will play out. Luckily, we live on slightly higher ground, so the house isn’t necessarily affected. But we’re planning a trip to Munich on Sunday and hope the roads will be clear of water by then.
It’s currently 7 degrees—it feels like winter—but with the heat on, it’s cozy, especially with plenty of wool.
The weather change is always drastic. But at least we can breathe freely again and sleep better.
The rain is holding off here for now. Just the occasional light shower—that’s it—otherwise gusty winds, cloudy skies, and brief spells of sunshine. Just changeable weather.
Yesterday was the first time I had to put on a cardigan outside. Otherwise, it’s been pleasant.
Have a pleasant weekend, everyone
Best wishes, Andrea
Well, I still have to mentally adjust to the fact that it’s fall now. It gets dark early, and summer is over. Even the gingerbread cookies at the supermarket aren’t helping with the transition. My internal clock can’t switch from summer to winter that quickly. But it’ll come with time.
One big advantage is that you can make yourself cozy indoors again. Yesterday I lit the fireplace for the first time and moved my bell pepper plants into the greenhouse. It’s warmer in there than outside.
