Craft teddy bears now

Dear users, dear authors,
do you need a new craft project? How about a teddy to crochet, knit, sew, craft and embroider / or a bear to crochet, knit, sew, craft and embroider. Also great as a gift and possibly also for using up scraps. Have fun with it.

A completely different and very practical idea is this teddy bear that hangs on the door and guards it. It clearly shows whether the visitor is welcome or not. Very practical for the bathroom and restroom, but also for the door to the home office. It’s ideal especially with small children, since this way you can avoid leaving keys in the door.

Very easy to crochet with a few colorful leftover yarn scraps.

To the crochet pattern

Kuschel, the warming bear, makes a wonderful gift for a new baby, because he is a little “tummy-ache-go-away animal”! Kuschel is a cushion cover for a grain pillow. You can put it in the microwave for a few minutes, and then it provides a pleasant, dry warmth. That helps with tummy aches, tension, or when you come home after a walk in the cold. Kuschel can also warm up a child’s little bed on cold winter nights and can then help as a cuddly toy when falling asleep.
To make him nice and cuddly, I crocheted the head and paws with plush yarn. It’s very easy if you crochet along with a thin cotton yarn as an additional strand. The body (the actual cushion cover) is then made with cotton yarn.

And here is a little teddy bear that you can use as a keychain: Björn the polar bear is quickly crocheted from just a few bits of leftover yarn. He is about 9 cm tall and is very popular with children as a bag charm.

And here’s another teddy bear—this time, a handy helper for the kitchen and bathroom: The dish sponge is crocheted from sponge yarn. This is a slightly scratchy yarn that works very well for gently removing dried-on food scraps while washing dishes. It also works great as an exfoliating sponge in the bathroom. But don’t worry: the yarn feels quite pleasant to work with while crocheting. The sponge can be machine-washed at 60°, so it always stays hygienically clean without losing any of its charm.

Cuddly bears have been with most of us since early childhood. I, too, remember one or two teddy bears that were cuddled until they were almost worn out ;-) All the nicer when you can knit or crochet such a good friend as a gift for someone else!
