This washcloth is a very cute accessory right from birth, and a wonderful present any time! If you use the suggested baby yarn, the cloth will be very soft and soothing on delicate baby skin. You can also make a dishcloth if you use a cotton yarn. The cloth is very easy to work with only knits and purls.

The pattern explains very detailed and stitch by stitch how you can knit this washcloth, so even beginners with basic knitting skills will succeed. And if there should be any questions, I`ll be happy to help!

Skills Required / What You'll Receive

Required skills:

  • basic knitting skills (cast on, cast off, knit and purl)
  • optional (for the handle): basic crocheting skills (chain, sling stitch, single stitch)

You will get very detailed directions on 7 pages with written instructions for each row. In addition you will get a knitting chart for the motif in a separate file. You can choose if you go with the written instructions or prefer working with the knitting chart.

Size Information

With a gauge of 28 stitches x 45 rows = 10 x 10 cm, size of the washcloth will be approx. 21 cm x 21 cm.

    Ich habe leider einen Denkfehler gemacht und die Hinreihe genau wie die Rückreihe (die mit dem Zählmuster) gestrickt. Jetzt finde ich, dass man das Motiv nicht gut erkennen kann und frage mich, ob ich wieder aufribbeln soll oder nicht. 🤔

    Eventuell liegt das "nicht-erkennen-können" auch an der leicht melierten Wolle und ich muss eine andere wolle nutzen.
    Ich bräuchte bitte einen Rat.

      oh nein, da hast Du es Dir aus Versehen schwieriger gemacht als es ist ;-) Lass Dich nicht entmutigen, so Sachen sind mir auch schon passiert. Am besten schickst Du mir ein Mail (über die Nachrichtenfunktion hier oder an meine E-Mail Adresse), dann kannst Du mir auch ein Bild mitschicken. Aber wenn das Motiv nicht gut erkennbar ist, weil Du es, wie es klingt, glatt links statt kraus rechts gestrickt hast, lohnt es sich vielleicht doch, es nochmal aufzumachen und neu zu stricken.
