Knitting pattern washcloth "Baby feet"

Every newborn baby is a real miracle. That’s why we want a birth present to be something very special, personal – and at the same time something “useful” for the young parents.

I think this washcloth with the cute little feet is a lovely gift for a newborn. It could be an add-on to a packet of diapers and a soft baby lotion (or to a gentle cream for the exhausted Mom…).

The cloth is very easy to work with only knits and purls. If you work the cloth several times in width and height, it could be a lovely blanket.

The pattern explains very detailed and stitch by stitch how you can knit this cloth, so even ambitioned beginners with solid knitting skills will succeed. And if there should be any questions, I`ll be happy to help!

Required skills:

• solid knitting skills (cast on, cast off, knit and purl, seed stitch)
• optional (for the handle): basic crochet skills (chain, sling stitch, single stitch)

You will get very detailed directions with written instructions for each row. In addition you will get a knitting chart for the motif in a separate file. You can choose if you go with the written instructions or prefer working with the knitting chart.

With a gauge of 27 stitches x 41 rows = 10 x 10 cm, size of the finished washcloth is approx. 22,5 x 23,5 cm.

With a different gauge, size of the finished cloth will be different, too.

• Schachenmayr Organic Cotton or Schachenmayr Baby Smiles Cotton Bamboo (155 m / 50 gr), approx. 30 gr in your favourite colour
• Alternatively you can use any soft cotton / cotton-bamboo yarn
• 2,5 mm (US 1 or 2) knitting needles
• Crochet hook 3 mm (optional, for the handle)
• Tapestry needle, scissors
