Double knitting pattern "Tropical Dream" - stole / wrap

This tropical floral splendour with the hummingbirds is simply a joy, isn't it? You can wear the wrap on many occasions – wear it over a dress on warm summer evenings or snuggle up in the office or on the sofa in autumn/winter. Thanks to different knit sections, you can easily adjust the length to suit your personal preference. A little tip: the knitting pattern with the hummingbird is the perfect size for a placemat

This stole / wrap is knitted in the double knitting technique. Thus, it is extra soft and looks beautiful on both sides.

Required skills: double knitting in general. Due to the size of this project, I don't recommend it as a starter project for double knit beginners (unless you really really want to knit it and have enough stamina for it )

You will get seven pdf files:

• general instructions on how to knit the scarf
• six knitting charts for the different knit sections

skills level: advanced

Gauge: 25 stitches x 31 rows = 10 x 10 cm

With this gauge size of the finished wrap will be approx. 40 cm x 187 cm, if you work exactly the same knitting sections as I did. You can easily adapt the length by omitting or adding some sections.

• 4-ply gradient yarn, two different colours, about 950 m each; I used “Hibiskus” and “Picknick” from 100 Farbspiele / premium winding (50 % cotton / 50 % acrylic)
• knitting needles 2.5 mm / US 1 ½
• tapestry needle, scissors
