Do you need new stash-buster projects? Here in this thread you’ll find patterns for scraps of all kinds, leftover yarn, fabric scraps, paper scraps, and cardboard scraps. Have fun with them.

All patterns here in the thread must be doable with leftovers, must not have been promoted in the forum in the past 3 weeks, and must each have 10 sales and a CR of at least 2%. 

If you have leftover yarn, you may already know my “Restefresserchen” series: small knitted animals that simply put you in a good mood. Why not quickly knit some funny little ducklings or owls, a panda, a funny bumblebee, or little bunnies this weekend!

These little doll leggings are perfect for knitting from leftover yarn. They fit dolls measuring 43 to 50 cm and are very easy to make. A great little project for in between.

This little mini sleeping bag for dolls or a favorite cuddly toy up to 20 cm in size is also perfect for knitting from leftover yarn. The pattern describes two versions.

Especially with small amounts of leftover yarn, it’s tempting to simply throw them away because you think there isn’t much you can do with them anymore. But you can crochet really cute things from them:
Here I’ll show you 3 crocheted little monkeys that you can make using leftover yarn.



A little brown, beige, and yellow cotton yarn—and you can crochet a fun monkey bookmark from it. It’s very easy and quick to make and is a nice little gift to bring along for a bookworm.




Monkey Jojo is about 10 cm tall and can be given as a bag charm or keychain. If you work the arms and legs around a piece of chenille wire, he can also be attached as a clip-on monkey to cables, cords, or rods.



And for a little monkey finger puppet you only need a tiny bit of yarn, too. Kindergarten children especially love finger puppets, so in this pattern you also get the patterns for a lion and a hippo as well.

Everyone who loves doing crafts has scraps. Here are a few suggestions from me for what you can knit, crochet, or felt with them. I hope you have lots of fun with the projects.

A crochet set with 6 different pieces. All the models can be wonderfully combined with each other. You’ll have fun crocheting them, and the little doll moms will have fun playing with them.



Cardigan for Small Dolls

This is also an ideal scrap-buster. I used leftover sock yarn for my samples. You can knit the cardigan as long as you like.



Felted Insoles

If you’re smart, you’ll start preparing for winter now. You can make your own insoles for shoes and boots from old leftover yarn. Quick to make, uses up scraps, and saves money. And you and your loved ones get nice warm feet in return.

Josephine Triangle Scarf

These flowers are a great way to put even the smallest scraps of photo cardstock to good use—you can decorate gift wrappings with them, use them as wall decor, or make children’s jewelry out of them.



The pattern includes template drawings for 3 flower shapes, each available in 5 to 7 sizes ranging from about 3 to 7.5 cm, and you can decide for yourself how big your flowers should be and how many layers they should have.
