New Yarn Swap Package No. 4/2022

Hello, dear all,

for everyone who didn’t go on vacation and is hanging around during the summer lull, here comes a little surprise: a new yarn swap package is starting! I’ve just packed almost 5 kg of yarn into a large box. Lots of colorful, interesting, and surprising yarns are once again waiting to be discovered, admired, touched, chosen, and swapped by you.

We are looking for 9 participants. Everyone who wants to take part in the swap ring, please sign up here in this thread.

The swap ring works like this:

I am the initiator of this swap ring and will pack a 5 kg package with yarn. I will ask all participants beforehand by email for their names, addresses, preferences, and dislikes regarding yarn and will use that to put together a participant list. Anyone who wants to can then take the preferences and dislikes into account when packing the package. Anyone who doesn’t specify anything here will simply be surprised.

The data will not be published here on CP. I will put the list I created into my freshly packed yarn package. I will send it at my own expense to No. 2 on the list.

Participant No. 2 on the list receives the package and picks out whatever she likes from it. She puts yarn of equal value into the package to replace the yarn taken out. The list goes back into the package. Participant No. 2 then sends the package at her own expense to participant No. 3 on the list. The list goes back into the package again, and so on and so forth. In the end, the package comes back to me because I am the last address on the list. I will then destroy the list with the data.

When it is sent off, the package must always have the same weight, so that everyone has the same amount to choose from and the postage is the same for every participant.

Attention: Unfortunately, DHL has raised the postage for a 5 kg package to 6.99 euros. Please keep that in mind before you sign up to participate.

Once the swap package has started, I will create a separate thread. We will always write in there where the package currently is. It would be nice if every participant posted a photo of the treasures they snagged. Then everyone can be a little happy along with them—or annoyed that they didn’t join in. 

Summary of the rules:

1. The package must not weigh more than 5 kg so that the DHL postage remains the same for all participants.
2. Every ball of yarn must have a label.
3. Several balls of yarn of the same type only need one label.
4. The yarn taken out is always replaced with equivalent-quality yarn.
5. Only yarn should be swapped.

Au ja, das ist fein! Ich freu mich total aufs neue Tauschpaket. Natürlich bin auch ich sehr gerne wieder dabei.

Danke, liebe Ina, dass du das Tauschpaket wieder in Gang setzt. Ich bin schon sehr gespannt auf den Inhalt. Das kommt für mich grade richtig, weil ich für ein neues Projekt - wie kann es anders sein - nicht die richtige Wolle habe. Die ist bestimmt da drin. Deises Mal brauche ich nämlich andere Wolle als sonst. ;-)

 Ich habe tatsächlich, gestern Abend Garn aus dem zweiten Tauschpaket auf die Nadel genommen 😊 (Fotos kommen im anderen Thread 👍) 
Ein Wollpaket kommt grade "richtig", mein Zuhause steht "im Baugerüst" und in der kommenden Woche legt der Dachdecker los... Es wird laut und ungemütlich. 
Freu mich schon total auf das Tauschpaket.....

Aber natürlich monalisa2662 darfst Du auch mitmachen. Ich freue mich, dass Du Dich getraut hast. Es macht viel Spaß und bringt Spannung. Man fiebert zwar dem Paket entgegen, freut sich aber auch auf die Schätze, die die anderen im Paket gefunden haben. Du bist also gerne mit dabei. Du musst Dich um nichts weiter kümmern, ich setze mich, wenn wir alle Teilnehmer zusammen haben, mit allen persönlich in Verbindung.

Bis dahin kannst Du gerne schon mal Deine Wollvorräte durchstöbern und aussortieren, was ein anderer haben darf.

Ines, Zypern ist eine wunderschöne Insel, ich wünsche Dir/Euch ganz viel Spass. Man sagt immer,  die Insel kann man nur lieben oder hassen (sorry, da kommen meine 35 Jahre, die ich beim grössten deutschen Touristikveranstalter gearbeitet habe, wieder durch)😉

In your case—vacation starting 8/22—that’s too tight for me if you’re farther down the list. But so that you can take part, and because veronika-t15 gave up being first, I put you in spot 1 on the list. That way the package will definitely get to you before your vacation.

Habe jetzt zwei Tage frei, die brauche ich auch zur Erholung. Hoffe, ich kann wieder häkeln.
Am Dienstag wollen meine Eltern mit uns eine kleine Dampferfahrt machen. Mal wieder raus und entspannen.

Hm Zypern, da schwärmen meine Eltern heute noch davon , ich bin gespannt.....
Aber zunächst freue ich mich aufs Wolle tauschen, denn da ist man ja auch immer recht gespannt was Einen erwartet.

Ich verkaufe die (aus Bambusholz, aus Asien importiert und ich habe von einigen Stärken reichlich) oder Maschenmarker? Hätte ich auch im Angebot, könnte ich gerne beilegen, wenn gewünscht?

Liebe Margitta, das ist zwar eine schöne Idee von Dir, aber in diesem Tauschpaket soll es ausschließlich Wolle zum Tauschen geben. Sonst legt der nächste eine Handarbeitsbuch, der übernächste hat dann noch dieses oder jenes. Das mindert dann alles das Wollangebot, um was es ja hier geht.

Du kannst die Nadeln ja gern in einem neuen Thread anbieten. Da finden sich bestimmt Abnehmer.
